I'm really concerned about this one
. It's just heartbreaking to think that a young girl's life was lost due to what sounds like complete neglect. I mean, if her mom said she had suicidal thoughts and wanted help, you'd think the police would take immediate action, right? But instead, they left her in a cell with no supervision... it's just not right.
And this isn't an isolated incident - we've seen way too many cases like this where people have died or been seriously hurt due to mental health issues. It's time for the NYPD (and law enforcement everywhere) to get serious about training and support for officers dealing with crisis situations. We need better systems in place to prioritize people's lives, not just follow procedure
