.. that whole handshake thing is like a metaphor for life itself, you know? We put on a show, pretend everything's fine, but inside we're all just trying to process the emotions, whether it's joy or pain... I mean, what if Sam Darnold didn't shake hands with Drake Maye because he was thinking about his own feelings of disappointment and frustration? What does that say about us as a society that we expect athletes to put on a happy face, even when they're hurting inside?
And can we talk about the pressure to perform? I mean, those guys are human beings too, not just sports heroes. They're 23 years old, for crying out loud! They've got their whole lives ahead of them... but at the same time, there's this expectation that they're gonna be perfect, lead their teams to victory... it's like we're asking them to be superheroes or something.
It's not just about the game, though. It's about the human experience... and how we all struggle with disappointment, frustration, and heartbreak...
