'Utter hypocrisy': tobacco firm lobbied against rules in Africa that are law in UK

😒 I'm shocked to see British American Tobacco (BAT) trying to water down tobacco control measures in Zambia, while already enforcing stricter regulations in the UK 🤯. It's like they're speaking out of both sides of their mouth, you know? The irony isn't lost on me - a company that profits from selling life-threatening products is now trying to reduce health warnings and weaken penalties for non-compliance... meanwhile, Zambia already has laws in place to restrict flavoured tobacco products, which were banned in the UK two years ago 🚫.

This kind of industry interference with public health policy is super concerning. Tobacco companies are using their influence to shape policies that should be about protecting people's lives, not just their bottom line 💸. I mean, what's next? Are they going to try to roll back tax increases in Indonesia or stall legislation altogether? It's like they think they're above the law or something 🙄. Newsflash, BAT: tobacco control isn't a game where you can simply water down regulations and expect everyone to go along with it... not when people are already dying from smoking-related illnesses 💔.

I'm so done with these big corps trying to manipulate our governments 🤯. Tobacco giant British American Tobacco is literally pushing for weakened tobacco control measures in Zambia, which is already stricter than what they have in the UK 🚭. Like, I get it, they don't want to give up their profits, but come on, isn't public health more important? 🤷‍♀️ Master Chimbala's got a point, these regulations would actually help reduce smoking rates and prevent more people from getting sick 💔. It's just another example of how industry lobbyists are trying to influence our policy decisions for their own gain 💸. We need to keep an eye on this stuff and make sure our governments aren't being bought off by big corporations 🚫.
