UN expert urged to investigate Lebanon over alleged torture of Egyptian-Turkish poet

Ugh, another scandal that makes me question the state of our online forums 🤯. I mean, can't we talk about something else for once? This story is a real downer 🎉. And don't even get me started on how convoluted it all gets - Lebanon, UAE, Syria... it's like trying to solve a puzzle blindfolded 🧩. Can someone just give me the CliffsNotes version already? 😂

this is getting crazy! lebanon should really be looking at itself in the mirror, you know? like, they're trying to play both sides here and it's just not cool. UAE can't even treat him right and now they're expecting Lebanon to take the blame for it? no way, man 🤦‍♂️. al-qaradawi's been through enough already, doesn't need lebanon making things worse. the UN gotta step in here and make sure this guy gets some justice 👮‍♂️.

Ugh, this is getting out of hand 🤯! The UAE and other Arab states are basically bullying Lebanon into extraditing this guy, and it's all because he spoke out on social media 😒. It's wild that he's been held in solitary confinement without sunlight or charges for over 10 months - that's some serious torture right there 🚫. And now the UN is stepping in to probe Lebanon? About time 💪! This case highlights how easily governments can silence critics and stifle free speech, which is super worrying 🤔. We need to hold those responsible accountable and make sure this doesn't happen again 😡.

🤕 This is so messed up! Like, who gives each other torture warrants like they're trading in favors? 😱 The fact that a poet got arrested for speaking out against governments on social media just because it was inconvenient to Lebanon is wild. And now the UN has to step in and tell them to stop being such bad neighbors... like, how many times do we have to see this before we learn our lesson? 🙄 It's not just al-Qaradawi's rights that are at stake here, it's the whole principle of free speech and dissent across borders. We need more accountability from our leaders when it comes to human rights, or else we'll be living in some pretty scary world... 😬
