I'm still thinking about this, but isn't China's whole "restoring stability" thing just a cop-out? They know they're crushing dissent and opposition, so to claim it's all about maintaining order is just laughable

Like, 20 years in prison is insane! I can see why Sebastien Lai would be fearing for his dad's life - it's like they're playing with people's lives here. And Beijing's response is just laughable... "justice being upheld"?? Are they even kidding? 
How can they be so tone-deaf about this?! It's time for some serious pressure to be put on Beijing. We need to see some real action here
