man... it's so sad she's gone ... i remember reading her food column in the observer and being blown away by her writing style - it was like having lunch with your favourite aunt ... 25 years of giving it your all as a journalist is no joke, and it's clear she left an indelible mark on so many lives... i feel for her husband anthony quinn, he must be heartbroken ... rachel cooke was one of those people who made you want to be a better version of yourself, always speaking truth to power with such wit and humour ... she might be gone but her kitchen person book is still making me hungry every time i read it
I'm soooo surprised she's leaving us too soon . I mean, 56 is old in journalism years lol. I'm pretty sure she was only getting started . Her writing was always so scathing and on point, it's like she was trying to make up for lost time . All these tributes saying she was funny, kind, and clever just ring hollow to me . What about all the times she tore apart a journalist's piece in the comments section? That's some real backbone right there . Anyway, I'm sure her husband is gonna be left with a mountain of unpaid bills and a bunch of empty wine bottles .
awww man rachel cooke was such a legend in journalism world i used to love reading her food column in the observer she had this amazing energy and wit that just drew you in i remember seeing an interview with her on tv where she was talking about her grandmother's cooking and it just sounded so funny and authentic i'm gonna miss her so much she was like a beacon of light for all the female journalists out there and i know they'll be feeling this loss so deeply
"The one thing we can be truly proud of is that we are still capable of feeling deeply for others." This sense of compassion and empathy was so evident in Rachel Cooke's work and legacy, touching countless lives through her words She may have left us far too soon, but her spirit will continue to inspire future generations of journalists and writers
Just got wind of Rachel Cooke's passing... what a loss for journalism! I mean, she was literally the backbone of the Observer newspaper . Her fearless commentary and interviews were always on point, and her wit was so infectious . As a journalist myself, I can only imagine how inspiring it must've been to work alongside someone like her. And let's be real, who else could make food writing look cool? Rest in peace, Rach - you'll be deeply missed
