Threads is making it easier to hide replies you don't like

Meta-owned social media app Threads is taking a step towards giving users more control over their online interactions by introducing new features that allow for greater customization of who can respond to their posts.

The platform's developers have been listening to user feedback and are now rolling out Reply Approvals, which enables individuals to preview responses before deciding whether to show them publicly. This option is not applied as a blanket policy but can be tailored to individual posts, giving users more granular control over the replies they see. Moreover, users will also have the ability to filter post replies by choosing only those from people they follow or sorting them by mentions.

This move comes at a time when Threads has been experiencing rapid growth, with 150 million daily active users, as revealed in Meta's third-quarter earnings call earlier this week. Building on its ephemeral "ghost" posts feature introduced last week, Threads is pushing forward to enhance user experience and tailor the platform to meet their needs for more meaningful online interactions.

I'm so down with these new features on Threads ๐Ÿค”... I mean, what's next? They're gonna make it where you can only see replies from people who are good friends or family members. How lame is that? It sounds like they're just trying to suck up to all the "influencers" and big users so they don't have to deal with annoying comments from randoms ๐Ÿ˜’.

And what's the point of having more control over replies if you can still see every single one of them? I mean, who doesn't love scrolling through a never-ending feed of responses to their posts? It's like, aren't we all just too sensitive already? ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ Can't we just tolerate a few annoying comments and move on? Geez.

I think its a good move by threads, but whats taking them so long to implement this? I mean 150 million daily active users should be giving them enough data to make some changes. I like the idea of reply approvals, its a small step towards making our online experience more comfortable ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ“ฑ

I'm kinda hyped about threads making this change ๐Ÿคฉ, but at the same time I'm thinking it's a bit too little, too late ๐Ÿ™„. Like, 150 million daily active users is crazy, but what's the point if they're just gonna get flooded with spam or harassment comments? ๐Ÿšฎ Reply approvals and filtering options are nice, but can't we have something more robust than that? Maybe some AI-powered moderation tools to help clean up the noise? ๐Ÿ’ป Still, I guess it's a step in the right direction... fingers crossed they keep pushing forward on this ๐Ÿคž

I think it's about time we had some control over who can respond to our posts ๐Ÿ™„, you know? It's like, I don't wanna be bombarded with random comments on my threads lol. But this new feature sounds pretty cool - being able to preview responses and filter out the noise is a total game changer ๐Ÿคฉ. And I'm all for the platform listening to user feedback, it shows they actually care about what we want ๐Ÿ™Œ. Now that Threads has 150 million daily active users, I hope they can keep up with the demand and make sure this feature doesn't get too spammy ๐Ÿ˜ฌ.

im loving the idea of reply approvals lol gotta have some control over who can respond to my posts ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ญ this new feature sounds super useful especially when you wanna keep your convo private but still engage with ppl it's like, nice that they're listening to user feedback and trying to make threads a better platform ๐Ÿ‘

omg I'm so down for this ๐ŸคฉReply approvals are like a total game changer ๐Ÿ”„๐Ÿ’ก no one should have to deal with unwanted comments or spam ๐Ÿšซ it's about time platforms prioritize user safety and control ๐Ÿ™Œ now imagine being able to see who commented on your post without having to scroll through the whole thread ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ“ฑ this new feature is a major win for me and I'm sure many others ๐Ÿค Threads is really stepping up its game ๐Ÿ’ช and with reply approvals, it's like they're saying "your online space, your rules" ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’–

I'm not sure about these new reply approval features on Threads... it sounds like just another way for the app to try and make itself seem more "user-friendly" ๐Ÿค”. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love that they're listening to user feedback and trying to improve the experience, but it just feels like a band-aid solution to me. What's next? Customizable notification settings? ๐Ÿ“ฑ It's all just a way for the app to become even more complex and hard to use. And can we talk about how annoying it is that users will have to keep checking who's responding to their posts in real-time? ๐Ÿ™„ I wish they'd focus on simplifying the interface instead of trying to micromanage every aspect of our online interactions. ๐Ÿ‘Ž

I'm all for giving users more control over their online presence ๐Ÿค”! Reply approvals sound like a game-changer - I mean, who doesn't want to vet comments before sharing them? It's about being mindful of what we share and with whom ๐Ÿ˜Š. This feature is just another step in making Threads a more user-friendly platform. The fact that it can be tailored to individual posts is genius - no more drowning in a sea of comments from people you don't know ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ. I'm also loving the idea of filtering replies by following or mentions... it's about being intentional with our online interactions, you know? ๐Ÿ’ป

idk why they're doing it but i guess its about time we have some control over the crap people say online lol ๐Ÿ˜‚ like who doesn't have to deal with annoying responses or trolls all the time? Reply approvals is a good start, it's still not perfect tho, can we get filters for specific keywords or phrases instead of just ppl we follow? that way we can actually have peace on threads ๐Ÿคž

๐Ÿค” threads should've done this ages ago ๐Ÿ™„ 150m daily active users and still got caught out by bots & trolls... Reply approvals are a good start, but what about real names? ๐Ÿ“ that's where the real control lies

omg i love dis ๐Ÿคฉ threads is doin somethin rite by givin us more control over our online interactions!!! it's like they actually care about what we wanna see on our feeds ๐Ÿ’– Reply approvals are literally a game changer, can't wait 2 try it out!! ๐Ÿ˜

Ugh I'm literally so done with how algorithmic social media platforms are changing the way we interact online! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Like they think we're just a bunch of mindless sheep following whoever has the most followers, right? ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ But seriously, this new feature on Threads is like, FINALLY giving us some control over our own sanity. I mean, who hasn't had to scroll through a never-ending feed of comments from people they don't even know?! ๐Ÿคฏ Reply approvals are like, the best thing since sliced bread - it's like having a filter that actually works! ๐Ÿ’ซ And being able to see only replies from people we follow or sort by mentions? ๐Ÿ™Œ That's just good ol' common sense. I'm so glad they're listening to user feedback and making changes based on what we need, not just some fancy algorithm that thinks it knows better. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

I'm loving this move by Threads! ๐Ÿ™Œ It's about time we got some real control over our online presence. I mean, think about it - we're already bombarded with ads and noise on social media, let alone unwanted comments from strangers. This feature is a total game-changer for me, especially when it comes to online self-care. Being able to filter out negativity or just previews of responses before sharing them publicly can be so liberating! ๐ŸŒฑ It's also awesome that they're listening to user feedback and making changes based on our needs. 150 million daily active users? That's a lot of people who are craving this kind of control! ๐Ÿ’ฏ I'm all about promoting healthy online habits, and features like these make me feel so much better about being online. ๐Ÿ’–

I gotta say, I think it's pretty cool that they're giving users more control over what gets seen by others on threads ๐Ÿค”...it makes me think about how we choose who we share our lives with in real life too. We pick and choose who we want to talk to, who we want to trust, and it's the same online, right? ๐ŸŒ. But sometimes I wonder if we're putting too much pressure on ourselves to be perfect online, to always present a curated version of ourselves...and maybe this new feature is an opportunity for us to take a step back and be more authentic, even if that means showing our imperfections ๐Ÿ’”. It's all about finding that balance between being present online and staying true to who we are offline ๐ŸŒŸ.

OMG, this is so cool! ๐Ÿคฉ I'm all about giving people more control over what they share online, you know? It's like, we should be able to choose who gets our attention, not just let everyone leave a random comment on our post without us even seeing it first. Reply approvals are gonna be such a game-changer for me, 'specially since I have this one friend who likes to spam comments in my posts ๐Ÿ˜‚. This feature is all about making the online space more chill and less overwhelming. I'm hyped to see how it's gonna work out! ๐Ÿ‘

I think it's about time social media apps like Threads started listening to users concerns ๐Ÿค”. Introducing Reply Approvals is a great step towards creating a safer online space where people feel in control of what they see on their feeds. I mean, let's be real, seeing random comments or messages from strangers can be super uncomfortable ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. The fact that users will now have the ability to filter out unwanted replies is a game-changer. And it's not like this feature was introduced out of the blue โ€“ Threads has been gathering user feedback and adjusting their features accordingly. It's refreshing to see a platform prioritize its users' well-being over just making money ๐Ÿ’ธ. With 150 million daily active users, it's clear that people are looking for more meaningful online interactions. This move shows that Threads is committed to helping users have a better experience on the app ๐Ÿ‘
