'They didn't de-extinct anything': can Colossal's genetically engineered animals ever be the real thing?

I gotta say, I'm still hyped about Colossal's gen-ed animal project 🐺🔬. People are hating on them for not bringing back the dire wolf in all its glory, but I think they're onto something here... sorta. I mean, 20 edits to a wolf's DNA? That's actually kinda impressive, you know? And yeah, it might not be as flashy as some people want it to be, but that doesn't mean it's not working.

Plus, think about all the other species they could bring back with this tech. It's not just about reviving extinct animals; it's about creating genetic diversity and stuff. Like, what if they used this tech to help out endangered wolf populations? That'd be awesome! And I know some people are skeptical, but I think we should give Colossal a break... 🤷‍♂️

I gotta say, I'm not totally sold on Colossal's whole de-extinction thing 🤔. I mean, 20 edits to the DNA of grey wolves isn't exactly what I'd call "true" de-extinction 🔬. And yeah, I get that their work on genetic diversity is kinda cool and all, but it's not like they're bringing back actual extinct species... that we can see and touch, you know? 🌳 It's more like they're playing with the building blocks of life to make things a bit healthier for living animals. And even then, I'm still on the fence about whether it's really worth all the hype 💥. Can't say I'm convinced just yet...
