South Bay protesters gather against Venezuela actions, ICE killing in Minneapolis

Thousands of people gathered in the South Bay to voice their opposition to President Donald Trump's military actions in Venezuela and the killing of a Minnesota woman by a federal agent. The rallies, which began in Los Gatos and Mountain View on Saturday morning, drew hundreds more throughout the day in Sunnyvale, Palo Alto, San Jose, Richmond, and San Francisco.

The protests were organized by a coalition of groups, including May Day Strong, Indivisible, and others. At the core of their message was one of unity against any US occupation of Venezuela and the removal of "reckless untrained ICE agents from our communities." The group argued that such actions enriched billionaires at a human cost and called for tax money to be used for more pressing issues, including creating good-paying jobs, improving schools, providing access to healthcare, and ensuring basic needs are met.

The protests were also sparked by the recent US strike in Venezuela, which killed around 80 people and resulted in the capture of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores. The couple is currently in New York City awaiting trial on federal drug charges, with Trump and other officials claiming that the US would "run" the country and take control of millions of barrels of oil.

Critics of the attack point to it as a flagrant violation of international law that ignores Venezuela's sovereignty. However, some Venezuelan expatriates in Florida have expressed support for Maduro's removal after years of reported human rights abuses and economic troubles in the country.

The protests also drew attention to another issue: the killing of Renee Nicole Good by a federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in Minneapolis, which sparked outrage and from the Trump administration, unsupported claims that Good was a "domestic terrorist." Many protesters were enraged by her death and saw it as an example of the need to push back against what they described as a regime of lawlessness.

"We're not just fighting for Renee's life," said 20-year-old Campbell resident Michael Zambon. "We're fighting for the rule of law, and that's being eroded by this administration." Others saw Good's death as an example of the need to challenge Trump's actions and those who support them.

Overall, the protests in the South Bay were a manifestation of widespread discontent with Trump's policies and the actions of his administration. As one protester put it, "It's all the same fight," and the struggle against Trump's government is seen as connected to issues such as immigration enforcement and Venezuela policy.

omg u guys I'm literally livid about what's going on in venezuela 🀯 like how can we even support a country being occupied by another nation? it's so not cool that trump's all about exploiting the oil for his own gain πŸ’Έ meanwhile ppl are still dying due to poverty and hunger. and don't even get me started on the killing of Renee Nicole Good 🚫 she didn't deserve to die because of someone else's bad policies. we need to hold our leaders accountable and fight for real change, not just some shallow slogan 🌟

I'm totally stoked that people are speaking out against this whole situation in Venezuela 🀝🌎. It's like, we can't just sit back and let our government take over another country without even thinking about the consequences. And yeah, the killing of Renee Nicole Good is a total bummer, it's clear that she didn't deserve to die at the hands of some ICE agent πŸ’”.

I mean, I get why people want Maduro out of office, but let's not forget about all the human rights abuses he's been responsible for in Venezuela 🚫. But at the same time, we need to be careful not to just repeat the same mistakes and end up with another government that's just as bad.

The thing is, I think a lot of people are starting to wake up to the fact that our government is more concerned with enriching billionaires than actually helping people πŸ€‘. We need to start demanding better from our leaders, and holding them accountable for their actions. The protests in the South Bay are definitely a step in the right direction πŸ‘.

It's also interesting to see how this whole situation has brought different communities together 🌈. People who might not have been directly affected by Trump's policies are now standing up with people who are, and it's creating a sense of solidarity that's really powerful πŸ”’.

man this is wild 🀯 thousands of ppl gathering in south bay to protest trump's military actions in venezuela and that ice agent who killed that minnesota woman it's just so messed up πŸ™„ the fact that these protests are happening everywhere from los gatos to san francisco just shows how much ppl care about what's going on in this country and around the world

I think its super important that people are speaking out against trump's policies and demanding better for our communities we need more good-paying jobs, better healthcare, and an end to these ridiculous claims of "domestic terrorism" πŸ™„ it's time for us to take a stand and fight for what's right

and can we talk about how this is all connected? the venezuela situation, the minnesota woman, its all part of the same struggle against a system that prioritizes billionaires over people's lives we need more unity and less division 🀝

I'm still not convinced about this whole "occupying Venezuela" thing πŸ€”. I mean, what's in it for us? These billionaires just want to get richer off the country's resources, but at what cost? The US is just gonna come in there and disrupt a whole system that might be messed up, but at least they have a chance to fix it themselves.

And don't even get me started on this Renee Nicole Good thing πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. Like, the government's trying to spin her death as some kind of domestic terrorist issue? That's just not right. We need to stand up for what's fair and just, you know?

I'm all for holding our leaders accountable, but sometimes I feel like we're just shouting into the void πŸ—£οΈ. Is anyone listening? We need more than just a bunch of rallies and signs; we need real change.

The fact that Trump's policies are causing so much unrest is a bit concerning, don't you think? 😬 I mean, if he's got such strong support from certain groups, what does that say about our democracy?

awww, people are gettin so fed up w/ this admin πŸ€•... thousands gatherin in South Bay 2 voice opposition 2 military actions in Venezuela & killing of Renee Nicole Good by a federal agent 😩... it's like, the country's goin crazy w/ all these protests & rallies happenin every day... ppl are united against Trump's policies & think it's time 4 some change πŸ’ͺ... I feel u guys, it's like we're all in this together & need 2 stand up 4 what's right 🀝

🀯 I'm so frustrated about this dude Trump and his military actions in Venezuela πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ it's like he thinks he can just swoop in and take over another country without even asking anyone πŸ™„ Newsflash, Donald: Venezuela is not your playground! The fact that people are dying left and right because of his reckless decisions is just heartbreaking 😩 And don't even get me started on Renee Nicole Good 🀯 80 dead in Venezuela and a young woman killed by an ICE agent in the US? It's like, what's going on?! 😡 Can we please just focus on creating jobs, improving schools, and taking care of our own people instead of trying to control other countries' affairs? πŸ’ΈπŸ“šπŸ‘

idk about these protests in South Bay πŸ€”... I mean, on one hand, I think it's awesome that people are coming together to oppose Trump's military actions in Venezuela 🌟... like, we should be looking out for each other's human rights, you know? But then again, what if Maduro is, like, totally corrupt and oppressing his own people πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ... I mean, I've heard some crazy stories about human rights abuses in Venezuela, so maybe Trump's not entirely wrong about that πŸ€”...

And omg, the killing of Renee Nicole Good by a federal agent is just, like, totally unacceptable 😱... no way should anyone be labeled a "domestic terrorist" just because they're trying to report a crime or something πŸ’”. But at the same time, I've seen some conspiracy theories about immigration that are, like, super concerning 🚨... maybe we need to be more careful about who we trust on these issues? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I guess what I'm saying is... I don't know what to think anymore πŸ˜…... can't even decide if Trump's policies are good or bad πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ... maybe it's time for a new perspective or something? πŸ€”

Just saw the pics from those protests in the Bay Area... so many people showing up for what they care about πŸ™. It's like, we're not just talking about some random politician, we're talking about policies that affect our daily lives. The fact that people are fighting for something bigger than themselves is really inspiring. We need more of that unity and less division. And honestly, it's about time someone spoke up about the human cost of Trump's actions 🀯. Not just Venezuela, not just immigration... the impact is everywhere.

🚨 I gotta say, these protests in South Bay are getting real 🀯. People are fed up with Trump's military actions in Venezuela and that US agent who killed Renee Good πŸ€•. It's like, how can we just let them get away with this? πŸ™„ The rallies were super organized, with all these groups coming together to say no to the occupation of Venezuela and the removal of those reckless ICE agents πŸ’”. And it's not just about Venezuela, it's about the bigger picture - tax money for good-paying jobs, healthcare, schools... basic human needs, you know? 🀝 It's like, we need a government that works for us, not just enriches billionaires πŸ‘Š. The fact that some Venezuelans in Florida are supporting Maduro's removal is wild 🀯, but I guess it shows how divided the country is right now πŸŒͺ️. Anyway, these protests are a reminder that we can't just sit back and watch our government make these crazy decisions without pushing back πŸ’ͺ.

πŸ€” Just saw these rallies in South Bay about Trump's military actions in Venezuela and Renee Good's killing... honestly, can't they just focus on one issue at a time? Like, I get that Venezuela has its problems, but now we're also dealing with the aftermath of Renee's death and how it was handled. The fact that some people support Maduro's removal after all these human rights abuses is wild to me... πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ And can we talk about how ridiculous it is that Trump is trying to take control of Venezuela's oil? Like, no one asked for a US occupation, right? 🚫 The rallies were super peaceful and showed unity among the groups protesting, which was nice to see. But at the end of the day, I'm still not sure what the solution is here... 🀯

I think the protests are a total waste of time πŸ™„, people need to stop complaining and start doing something about their own lives instead of just standing around marching and shouting. And honestly, who cares what happens in Venezuela? It's not like we're going to be directly affected by it... besides, Maduro sounds like a total dictator so I'm kinda rooting for Trump on this one πŸ˜‚. And as for Renee Nicole Good's death, I think the agents were totally justified πŸ™Œ, people need to stop breaking the law and expecting special treatment. The whole thing is just a bunch of hooey, and we should be focusing on our own problems instead of getting all worked up over other countries' business πŸ’Έ.

I gotta say, this protest in South Bay was straight fire πŸ”₯! People are getting fed up with Trump's aggressive moves, especially when it comes to Venezuela and Renee Nicole Good's death. It's like, what even is going on over there? The fact that Maduro's wife is facing trial for alleged drug charges and Trump is all about "running" the country just because he doesn't like their politics... it's wild 🀯.

And don't even get me started on ICE agents being reckless and untrained. Like, how can we trust them to handle sensitive situations? The fact that they killed Renee Nicole Good and now she's a "domestic terrorist" is just insane 😱. We need to stand up for justice and for the rule of law.

I love how all these different groups came together to organize this protest. May Day Strong, Indivisible... it's like a coalition of awesomeness 🀝. And you know what really gets me? It's not just about Venezuela or immigration policy; it's about the values we want our country to stand for. We deserve better than this regime of lawlessness and greed πŸ’Έ.

The fact that Trump is trying to spin this as a "regime" thing is just laughable 🀣. Like, who are they kidding? This protest was all about taking a stand against his policies and the damage he's causing. It's time for people to wake up and demand better from their leaders πŸ‘Š.
