Sixers soundbites: Kyle Lowry, the ultimate leader, may be 'old as hell,' but he means everything to his teammates

Kyle Lowry: The Unlikely Leader Stealing the Spotlight

The Philadelphia 76ers' wire-to-wire victory over the Brooklyn Nets was a jubilant affair, with players from both teams erupting in celebration upon witnessing the moment when veteran point guard Kyle Lowry, now 39 and entering his 20th NBA season, sank a make. To those watching from the bench, it must have seemed like one of the most outstanding plays in recent history.

Lowry's significance to his teammates cannot be overstated. Nick Nurse praised Lowry's leadership role since joining the Sixers, stating that he has done an "outstanding job" and is well-liked by players. Tyrese Maxey echoed these sentiments, saying that despite being considered "old as hell," Lowry continues to work out diligently every day, contributing to the team with his dedication and experience.

Lowry's impact extends beyond on-court performances. He has taken Maxey under his wing, offering words of wisdom like "Lead. Lead." The young guard credits Lowry for his own growth, saying that he couldn't do it without him. This mentorship is reciprocated by the veteran point guard, who seeks guidance from his teammates.

Quentin Grimes marveled at seeing Lowry still competing at an elite level after 20 years in the league. "Been in the league 20 years, he's seen it all," Grimes said. Lowry continues to be a driving force behind the team, providing encouragement and motivation before each game.

For Trendon Watford, witnessing Lowry hit his first shot of the year was a source of inspiration. Kelly Oubre Jr. described Lowry as "a winner" who has done everything at the highest level. He's an inspiration to the entire team, bringing life into the locker room with his presence and work ethic.

As Lowry continues to defy expectations, his teammates are grateful for his continued commitment to their success. The unlikely leader is still stealing the spotlight, reminding everyone that experience and dedication can make all the difference in achieving greatness.

I cant believe how far the 76ers have come since I was a kid watching Allen Iverson dominate on the court 🤯. Now Kyle Lowry is leading them to victories like they're nothing new, its crazy. It just goes to show you that even when people doubt you, you can still achieve greatness with hard work and dedication 💪. I mean who would've thought a 39 year old guy would be stealing the spotlight? 🤦‍♂️ Time flies, doesn't it?

he's def a great example of how u don't need 2 b young 2 be impactin on ur team 🤩👏 39 n still killin it out there... his leadership n work ethic r inspirin 2 others 🙌 lowry's like a mentor 2 the younger guys, helpin them grow n succeed 💪 u gotta love how he's still got that fire in him 🔥

OMG I'm so down for Kyle Lowry being the unlikeliest of leaders 🤩! 39 and still killing it? I mean, what's next? LeBron James running a marathon at age 50 😂. But seriously, this dude is all about that leadership life and it's adorable to see him take Maxey under his wing 👍. That "Lead. Lead." quote is everything 💪! And can we talk about how Lowry is an inspiration off the court too? He's like the ultimate #TeamworkMentor 🤝. I'm loving this newfound appreciation for our veteran point guard and it just goes to show that age is just a number 🚫. What's next, a full season of NBA legends playing together on one team? 🤯

Yeah, I mean, people need to chill out about Kyle Lowry being an "unlikely leader" lol 🙄. I mean, have you seen his résumé? The dude's been in the league for 20 years, won multiple championships, and has consistently performed at a high level. It's not like he's some old guy who just happens to be holding onto a roster spot 🤣.

And please, "Lead. Lead" isn't even a bad motto 😂. I've seen Tyrese Maxey give way more cringeworthy interviews than that. On the real though, Lowry's leadership is legit, and it's cool to see him taking young guys like Maxey under his wing 👍.

Trendon Watford's point about Lowry inspiring them with his work ethic is on point 💪. And Kelly Oubre Jr.'s call of Lowry being a "winner" is right on the money 🙌. People need to acknowledge that this dude's been doing it for years and has earned the respect of his peers 👏.

It's not like he's some guy who just happens to be having a good year; he's still killing it even at 39 🔥. So yeah, let's give Kyle Lowry the props he deserves 💯.

Lowry's just trying to keep up at this point lol what's next gonna be him having a senior citizen discount at the 76ers' cafeteria? 39 and still getting benched because of his age, only for him to come off the bench and steal the game 🤣🏀

can u believe this forum? its like no 1 else cares bout how outdated the site looks rn... i mean lowry's awesome & all but who cares about him when our own platform is still using that ancient design 🤦‍♂️💻? at least in the game, u get to see a wire-to-wire win, but over here, its just a never ending stream of ads & broken links 😩. anywayz lowry's leadership is def inspiring, and i love how he's still crushing it @ 39 🎉

🤔 I'm not surprised to see Kyle Lowry shining bright at 39. He's always been a gamer 💪. But what's even more impressive is how he's adapted to the team dynamic 🤝. From what I've seen, he's doing his part to lead by example and mentor some of the younger players 👊. It's cool to see him being a positive influence on guys like Tyrese Maxey who were struggling to find their footing 📈. Still, it's gotta be tough to keep up with these young guns 🔥! Overall, Lowry's experience is giving the 76ers an edge they wouldn't have otherwise 💯.
