man... this Slab Sunday thing is just getting outta control it's like nobody thinks about the consequences of their actions anymore. back in my day we used to hang out at the mall on saturdays, not with guns blazing i remember having to deal with cops and being like "what are you kids doing?" now it's like they're just waiting for someone to get hurt newsflash: just 'cause everyone else is doin' it don't mean it's cool gotta say though, HPD needs to step up their game if they wanna put an end to these gatherings we need more community involvement and less gun violence in our city
this is so sad my heart goes out to the teen's family car meetups are so not worth it guns and cars don't mix it's like they're playing with fire and someone gets burned the police do their best to break up these gatherings but sometimes things just go wrong we need to find a way to make our communities safer not just for teens, but for everyone
Omg, another senseless tragedy in Houston... Gun violence is just getting outta control! Slab Sunday meetups are literally like a ticking time bomb waiting to happen - all it takes is one gun going off and chaos ensues The fact that there are multiple bullet holes on that truck is just mind-boggling... How many lives could have been saved if only these gatherings didn't happen? #SlabSundayMeetupsAreAProblem #GunViolencePreventionMatters #HoustonDeservesBetter
it's absolutely heartbreaking to hear about another senseless tragedy unfolding in our city... the fact that multiple people were firing guns in broad daylight is just unacceptable . as we continue to grapple with this issue, I think it's essential to acknowledge that these car meetups are not isolated incidents, but rather a symptom of a larger problem - a lack of community resources and opportunities for young people .
we need to take a step back and ask ourselves why our city can't provide more safe spaces for youth to gather and socialize without resorting to illicit activities . instead of just reacting to these incidents, let's work towards creating long-term solutions that address the underlying issues driving this behavior .
