Rivian spinoff reveals a $3,500 starting price for its first e-bike

Rivian's Electric Bike Spinoff Reveals Affordable but Compromised Option

In a bid to make its electric bike entry point more accessible to the masses, Rivian's spinoff brand "Also" has announced that its first e-bike, dubbed the TM-B, will start at a relatively affordable $3,500. While this price tag is significantly lower than the $4,500 starting price of its high-end Launch and Performance models, it comes with several notable compromises.

The base model TM-B boasts a modest range of 60 miles on a single charge, a weaker 5x power assist, coil fork suspension, and limited ride mode options. In contrast, the more expensive Launch and Performance models offer up to a 100-mile range, a 10x power assist, air fork suspension, and the choice between sport and standard ride modes.

Despite these compromises, the TM-B still offers a premium look with its all-gray color scheme, albeit without the transparent shell that highlights the virtual drivetrain called DreamRide. The base model is now available for preorder with a $50 refundable deposit, and shipping is slated to begin in late 2026.

While the starting price of the TM-B is certainly more appealing than initially thought, it's essential to weigh these gains against the trade-offs made by this more affordable option.

OMG, I'm lowkey hyped about the Rivian spinoff Also launching an e-bike that's literally affordable 🚴‍♂️ but also kinda compromises on performance 🤔. Like, 60 miles range is decent but it feels like they're sacrificing power assist for a lower price tag 💸...but at least it still looks premium and comes with the iconic Rivian design 👍. The question is, are you willing to sacrifice some of that luxury for a lower starting price of $3,500? 🤑 My advice: weigh your options carefully before pre-ordering! 🤝🚴‍♂️ #RivianSpinoff #EbikeGoals #SustainabilityMatters

omg have you guys ever had one of those days where you're just cruising along on your bike and suddenly you see a squirrel in a tutu 😂 i mean what even is that? anyway back to rivian's e-bike thing... i feel like $3,500 is kinda steep for an "affordable" option. like i get it they gotta make some compromises but can't they just find that sweet spot where it's not gonna break the bank? and btw has anyone tried these new e-bikes? 🚴‍♂️

The introduction of Rivian's spinoff brand "Also" with its entry-level e-bike, the TM-B, is a strategic move to democratize electric cycling 🚴‍♂️. Priced at $3,500, it's an attractive offering for those seeking a more affordable alternative, but let's not be too hasty in our assessment. The compromises made on range (60 miles vs 100), power assist (5x vs 10x), and suspension (coil fork vs air fork) are notable trade-offs that may impact the overall riding experience 🤔.

On the other hand, the TM-B still boasts a premium look with its all-gray color scheme, which might appeal to those prioritizing aesthetics over raw performance 🎨. While it's essential to acknowledge these gains, we must also consider the potential drawbacks of this more affordable option. Will the reduced specs be worth the $1,000 price difference? Only time will tell 🕰️.

I gotta say, I'm low-key impressed that Rivian's trying to make e-bikes more accessible 🤔. $3,500 is a pretty sweet starting price, especially considering most high-end ebikes are over $6k. But, like, let's not get too excited just yet 😂. The fact that the TM-B has a "modest" range of 60 miles and only 5x power assist kinda kills my enthusiasm for this thing. I mean, if you're gonna start at $3,500, can't you give us at least 80 miles of range? 🚴‍♂️ And what's with the coil fork suspension? That's not exactly premium tech 😐. Still, I guess it's a step in the right direction, and if they deliver on those promises (or at least make some compromises that aren't too noticeable), then maybe we'll be looking at an Actually Good Affordable E-bike 🚲👍

so i guess rivian's trying to make electric bikes more mainstream with their "also" spinoff brand 🤔... but honestly, the compromises they've made on the tm-b seem pretty significant 😕 like 60 miles of range vs 100? that's a big difference. and 5x power assist instead of 10x? not cool. i mean, if you're gonna drop the price to $3,500, can't they at least give you some decent performance on that end 🤑... or maybe just charge more upfront? idk

omg $3500 for an ebike with only 60 miles range is kinda steep lol like what's the point of even having a cheaper model if it can't go that far?? i mean i get it, wanna make ebikes more accessible but can't they just make the whole thing a bit more balanced?

I'm telling you, something fishy is going on here... 🤔 Like, why would Rivian create a super basic e-bike and call it "Also"? Sounds like they're trying to get people hooked on the brand without investing in actual quality. And $3,500? That's still a pretty penny for a bike that can only handle 60 miles on a charge. They must be planning something more sinister... like taking advantage of environmentally conscious folks who want to "go green". I'm calling BS on this one. 🚫💸
