Racing Bulls has issued an apology after a video on social media captured a team member giving Lando Norris, the winner of Sunday's Sao Paulo Grand Prix, a thumbs down. The incident happened as Norris celebrated his victory with McLaren's fans at the podium.
A clip posted on social media showed an employee in Racing Bulls uniform, filming the celebrations with a mobile phone, making a repeatedly giving a thumbs-down gesture to people below before another team member stepped in and put their arm down to stop them.
The driver, who had secured his first win of the season, was seen smiling and celebrating in front of fans.
"We believe in celebrating great racing and showing respect to every driver, team and fan both on and off the track," a statement from Racing Bulls read.

I mean, like, is he even part of the team? shouldn't they be supporting their drivers or something? I don't get why he had to go around giving thumbs downs to people... it just looks so mean 
especially when Norris was already happy and celebrating 
Lando's win was such a big deal for McLaren fans, you'd think Racing Bulls would want to support him more than that 
what's the point of even having a team if they're just gonna be like that? 
. And what really gets me is that the guy was filming it with his phone and thought he was being all sneaky... meanwhile, he got caught red handed 
. I think what Racing Bulls needs to do now is show some real team spirit and own up to this mistake. Apologies are great, but actions speak louder than words

Thumbs down to a winner? Like, what's next? Giving someone a red card for doing a sweet dance on the podium? 
They should just stick to promoting racing and leave the celebrations alone... 
They should've just kept quiet about it instead of apologizing publicly... I mean, Norris was being super cool and respectful up there on that podium, so the guy giving him a thumbs down shouldn't have made such a big deal out of it. 
. Still, I guess it's good that they apologized, but now everyone's gonna be all extra about how they're "celebrating great racing" 
... can't we just enjoy the racing in peace? 
racing bulls are supposed to be all about speed and adrenaline but apparently they can't even get that right. like what if lando norris is celebrating with his family or something? wouldn't want someone ruining the mood for him. and another thing, who takes a selfie while giving thumbs down to fans? sounds like some drama to me 
, but still don't know what inspired that guy to act so weird... 
. And it's not just the gesture itself, but also the fact that it happened during the celebration and on camera... like, how cool is that gonna look for people watching the replay? 
Either way, gotta give credit to Lando Norris for staying chill about it and just enjoying the moment

The video was all over social media and now they're apologizing, which is great, but like shouldn't they have thought about how their actions would be perceived before doing them in the first place?! 
Anyway, I hope Lando Norris can put this behind him and focus on his next win! 
And McLaren's fans should totally be celebrating with him!
