Police don't release details on arrest of fired Michigan coach Sherrone Moore

Former Michigan Football Coach Sherrone Moore Held Without Charges After Being Fired Over Alleged Staff Relationship

A police investigation into the circumstances surrounding Sherrone Moore's termination as Michigan football coach has led to his arrest, though authorities have yet to release details on the incident. Moore, 39, was let go by the university earlier this week after it verified evidence of an alleged relationship with a staff member. The team's athletic director described the behavior as "a clear violation of university policy."

Moore, who has been married to three young daughters since his senior year of high school and went on to play football for Butler County Community College in Kansas and Oklahoma University, had previously been praised for his coaching prowess. He was promoted to lead the Wolverines after they won the national championship, but his tenure was marked by controversy.

Moore's arrest occurred hours after he was fired, with Pittsfield Township police confirming that a person was taken into custody following an alleged assault. Authorities have yet to provide any further information on Moore or the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

The university's decision to terminate Moore's contract will not require them to buy out the remaining years of his deal, as the terms of his contract allow for such action in cases where he is let go "for cause." The move has left Michigan searching for a new head coach, following a tumultuous cycle that included the departure of Lane Kiffin.

In related news, Moore's replacement on the coaching staff, Biff Poggi, will serve as interim head coach for the team's upcoming game against Texas.

🤔 so like how do we even know this guy was let go over some alleged relationship with a staffer? Like where's the evidence? I'm not saying he didn't do anything wrong but come on, university policy is one thing, but taking him down without proper investigation? 🙄 and now they're just sweeping it under the rug by letting his ex-employee take over as interim coach... shady.

😬 just can't believe what happened to Sherrone Moore... I mean, he was like a rockstar coach, got that job after winning a national championship and all, but it looks like his personal life caught up with him big time 🤯. Three kids from high school, married young, seems normal enough, but apparently not good enough for the university's standards? 🙄 And now he's facing some serious trouble... hope he gets the help he needs 👊. Can't say I'm surprised that it happened though, we've seen this kind of thing before in sports 🏈... how about the people affected by his actions, like the staff member who was involved with him? 💔 seems like it's gonna be a tough road for everyone involved 🚨

omg what a wild turn of events for Sherrone Moore 🤯 he was like this awesome coach and then BAM allegations come out and now hes in trouble with the law 😬 cant believe it after everything he did on the field, i guess thats not always an indicator of off the field behavior lol anyway hope his daughters are okay 💕

Man... I just can't believe what's going on with Sherrone Moore 🤯. I mean, he was like a legend in the football world, but it turns out he had some major skeletons in his closet 😳. It's crazy that he got let go from Michigan after all the controversy surrounding him. You'd think they'd be more careful about who they hire, especially considering the power dynamic with staff members 🤔.

And now he's arrested and facing charges... it's just wild 💥. I'm not gonna jump to any conclusions or speculate on what really went down, but it's definitely a huge shame for his family, especially those young daughters of his 🤕. It's like, you're trying to make a name for yourself in the world, but sometimes your personal life gets in the way 😔.

I'm curious to see how this all plays out... will he get charged? Will he be able to bounce back from this? Only time will tell ⏰.

Wow 😮 - can't believe what happened to Sherrone Moore! He was supposed to be this awesome coach and now his life is literally falling apart. I mean, who would've thought that a staff member would be involved? The university is really on top of things, firing him without buying out the contract. But this whole situation is super interesting 🤔, like what exactly happened behind closed doors? And now Biff Poggi has to step in and lead the team... wow, big shoes to fill! 🏈

man this is getting crazy what's gonna happen to his daughters they're so young 🤕 and I feel bad for them their dad just got fired over some stuff he did with a staff member i mean i know it's wrong but come on be more careful around kids you know? I've been watching michigan football for years and they always had such great coaches but now this guy gets fired after a national championship win 🏈🤦‍♂️ and then someone else takes over like what happened to lane kiffin anyway hope the new coach can get everything sorted out and that michigan wins their next game 🏆

I'm shocked he got away with it this long 🤯. I mean, you're basically getting a slap on the wrist when you get fired over relationship drama and then somehow end up in cuffs hours later? That just doesn't add up to me 😒. I think there's more to this story than what's being let out right now...the university knew about it for who knows how long and still chose to keep him around. It's like they wanted to sweep the whole thing under the rug 🧹. And now, poor guy gets tossed aside and has to deal with arrest? Not cool, Michigan 🤷‍♂️. What do you think is really going on here?
