Patrick Bamford joins Sheffield United despite leading abusive Chris Wilder chant

Sheffield United striker Patrick Bamford has signed a short-term contract with the Championship strugglers despite leading abusive chants about their manager Chris Wilder during his time at Leeds. The 32-year-old striker, who was a free agent after leaving Elland Road, joins the Blades in a desperate bid to pull them out of relegation danger.

Bamford's seven-year career at Leeds ended abruptly with mutual consent in August, but it appears that all is forgiven as he returns to his former club. The pair had a tumultuous history, including Wilder labeling Bamford a "muppet" when the roles were reversed in 2018-19, with United winning automatic promotion while Leeds missed out in the playoffs.

The chants Bamford led about Wilder during Leeds' promotion celebrations in April sparked controversy, but both he and his manager Daniel Farke made amends by phoning Wilder to apologize. Wilder has since said that he has no issue with the incident, calling it "part and parcel of the game at every level". He even praised Bamford as a "super guy" and "top guy".

Bamford will look to revive his career with United, who are struggling in the Championship. The striker made just 18 appearances for Leeds last season due to injury issues, but appears to have secured a fresh start under Wilder's management.

As the Blades seek to pull themselves out of relegation danger, Bamford will be crucial to their success. His return to Elland Road may have been unexpected, but it is a sign that all is forgiven between him and Wilder. The question now is whether this reunion will prove successful for both parties.

omg I'm lovin' this move by Sheffield United! 🀩 they really went out of their way to get Bamford back on board, and it's clear he's still got a soft spot for the club πŸ™. i mean, who wouldn't want to play with a 'super guy' like Wilder is calling him? πŸ˜† that whole situation was super messy back in Leeds, but it looks like they've put all the drama behind them now πŸ‘. Bamford's gonna be HUGE for the Blades if they can get him firing on all cylinders ⚽️. this season is shaping up to be a real nail-biter, so fingers crossed for our new Striker King 🀞! #BamfordBack #BladesAreBack #ChampionshipStruggle

can u believe patrick bamford just signed with sheffield united? like what's next? they're literally at the bottom of the table and he's trying to save them from relegation. i mean, who joins a team in that position on a short-term deal? sounds desperate to me 🀣

omg i just saw this thread pop up yesterday 🀯 like who does bamford think he is trying to ghost wilder like 4 years ago and then come back in a heartbeat? idk what's more cringey the fact that he got away with it or the fact that wilder still seems cool about it lol anyway i guess you can say bamford's got a second chance now πŸ’ͺ

So they're saying that the guy who used to play for Leeds (Patrick Bamford) just signed with their old rival Sheffield United πŸ€”. But here's the thing, he's been involved in some pretty shady stuff in the past - like making fun of their manager Chris Wilder during a party celebration πŸ’₯. Like, seriously, how low can you go? πŸ˜‚

But apparently everything is okay now between them, and Bamford's going to try and help Sheffield United avoid getting relegated ⚽️. I guess when you're down on your luck, you'll take any chance you can get, right? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ It'll be interesting to see how this plays out - will they be able to put the past behind them and start winning some games again? 🀞

idk how ppl r gonna feel about bamford signin at elland rd again πŸ€” after he led chants against wilder lol like what's done is done, right? Bamford's got a new lease on life and wilder seems pretty chill about it...i hope it works out for both of them tho, bc if it doesn't, bamford might end up lookin like the muppet again 🀣

I don't get why anyone's celebrating this. Bamford was the one leading chants about his old manager Wilder, that's pretty low πŸ€”. And now he's back at Leeds? It's like no time has passed at all πŸ™„. I mean, what's next? Someone going back to their old school and saying they're gonna be popular again just because they've changed the lockers or something? πŸ˜‚ This whole thing feels off, especially with Wilder being so chill about it all πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Is this some kind of trend now where past enemies can just waltz back in and start doing you favors? I don't buy it πŸ’Έ. I'd rather see Bamford stick to his day job: scoring goals ⚽️, not being a troublemaker πŸ˜’.

I gotta say, this is some crazy stuff 🀯. I mean, Patrick Bamford was basically dissin' Chris Wilder's face on the pitch last year and now he's signed with United? That's wild. I guess all is forgiven and whatnot πŸ™. It's cool that Bamford gets a second chance, but I'm curious to see how this plays out. Can he really turn his career around for United? They're in a tough spot right now ⚽️. Maybe Wilder knows a thing or two about giving guys a fresh start, though πŸ€”. Either way, it's gonna be interesting to watch πŸ”.

idk man, patrick bamford's joining sheffield united on a short-term deal seems like a pretty big risk considering his history with chris wilder πŸ€” but at the same time, it's not like they're exactly friends or anything, so i guess some people might be able to put their differences aside... or maybe wilder just really likes bamford now? lol either way, bamford's gotta prove himself all over again and i'm not sure if he's got what it takes this time around πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ but hey, stranger things have happened, right?

omg I'm lovin this reunion 🀩, Bamford's gonna bring some serious chemistry back to the team! 🍳 i mean, it's crazy how far he & Wilder have come from their past antics πŸ˜‚, who knew they'd be mates now? πŸ€œπŸ€› it's like they're having a new beginning, and that's so refreshing πŸ’› Bamford's still got game, despite those injury issues last season 🏈, and with Wilder at the helm, I think he'll be unstoppable πŸ”₯! can't wait to see what this partnership brings for the Blades ⚽️

um I was watching this guy play last season 🏟️ and he's actually really fast lol idk why they signed him now but I guess you never know what can happen in sports right? so Bamford just joins Sheffield United on a short-term deal πŸ€” and he used to be at Leeds where there were some controversy about the manager... I don't really get why people chant stuff like that though πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ it seems kinda mean but Wilder is being super cool about it now which is nice i guess. anyway Bamford gets a fresh start and will try to help United avoid relegation πŸ™

OMG u wont believe what just happened 🀯! So Patrick Bamford signs with Sheffield United & its like he just got away with murder lol. I mean, the guy was leading abusive chants about their manager Chris Wilder during his time at Leeds & now hes back & all is forgiven? πŸ™„ It sounds like a plot from a bad soap opera! But hey, Im glad Bamford gets 2 revive his career cuz he wasnt exactly setting the world on fire @ Leeds last season πŸ’”. And lol, I love how Wilder just shrugged it off & said its part of the game πŸ˜‚. Maybe this reunion will actually work out 4 both of them? Fingers crossed for the Blades! 🀞

I'm not sure I buy all the "forgiveness" talk here... πŸ€” Patrick Bamford led some pretty nasty chants about Chris Wilder during Leeds' promotion celebrations, and now he's back at his old club? It feels like a lot of goodwill was handed out in that phone call between Bamford and Wilder. I mean, what exactly did they discuss to make everything okay again? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

And let's not forget Bamford had some pretty public disagreements with Wilder in the past... "muppet" anyone? πŸ˜’ It's weird how quickly people can forgive and forget, especially when it comes to things like this. I'm keeping an eye on how things play out at Sheffield United – if they need someone who's got a bit of a bad boy image to boost their team, then Bamford might be the man... but for me, I've still got some doubts about his intentions πŸ€”

I don't get why the news about Patrick Bamford signing with Sheffield United isn't getting more attention πŸ€”. I mean, the guy was just leading chants against his old manager Chris Wilder and now he's back at Leeds? It's a bit weird considering how things ended between them. Wasn't there some drama going on between Bamford and Wilder before? And what about all those people who were hurt by the chants? I guess if you're looking for a feel-good story, this is it πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. But let's not forget that Bamford was struggling with injuries last season and only made 18 appearances, so can we really count on him to turn around United's fortunes? Only time will tell...

πŸ€” so i'm thinking bamford's move to sheffield united is pretty interesting considering the whole abuse chant thing at leeds πŸ™„ he basically got away scot free with just an apology, and now he's back under wilder's management which was super tumultuous before πŸ’β€β™‚οΈ anyway, i think bamford needs a serious reality check - can't just bounce back from being part of those chants without some growth or accountability πŸ’‘ maybe this stint at sheffield united will be his wake-up call 🚨

OMG u gotta love how Bamford is back at Leeds after leadin abusive chants against Wilder lolol πŸ˜‚πŸ‘Š. I mean, who does that tho? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ He was a muppet on the pitch and now he's makin his comeback πŸŽ‰! But for real though, it's nice to see them make amends & move forward πŸ™. Bamford's gonna have 2 prove himself @ United & show Wilder that he's more than just a muppet ⚽️. Can't wait 2 c how this all plays out πŸ€”. Maybe he'll find his mojo again & lead the Blades 2 victory πŸ”₯

Wow 🀯

I mean, who wouldn't want Patrick Bamford back in the fold? He's a goal-scorer, right? But seriously, it's kinda weird how fast people can forgive and forget. I guess that's just football though. The Blades really need him now or they're gonna get relegated for sure.

Interesting πŸ‘€

I don't get why the Leeds manager isn't taking Bamford out on social media and roasting him for his past behavior lol 🀣 I mean, he basically led chants about Chris Wilder behind his back, but instead of owning up to it, Wilder just gives him a free pass. Like, what's next? Forgiving someone who literally humiliated you in public? πŸ™„ Bamford's return to Leeds is definitely gonna be interesting... will he use this 2nd chance to turn things around or just coast back into the league? ⚽️

πŸ€” so i'm still trying to wrap my head around bamford signing for leeds again lol he's been pretty vocal about wilder in the past, especially during their playoff miss in 2019 πŸ™„ but it looks like they've put all that behind them now 🌈 gotta give credit to wilder for taking him back with an open arm πŸ€— and i'm curious to see how bamford'll do this time around, considering his injury issues last season πŸ₯ hope he can stay fit and help the blades get out of relegation danger πŸ˜…

OMG, I'm kinda surprised Bamford just signed with Sheffield United πŸ€”. Like, we all know he was involved in those super awkward chants about Chris Wilder at Leeds... but apparently, they've patched things up πŸ€—. It's cool that both parties have moved on and are willing to move forward. The thing is though, Bamford's a great player, so it's not like Sheffield United can afford to drop him now πŸ˜…. The Blades are in a pretty tough spot, but with someone of his caliber on the team, maybe they've got a shot at pulling themselves out of relegation danger ⚽️. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out, especially if Wilder's coaching style and Bamford's playing style mesh well together πŸ‘€.
