Maryville Police Officer Seriously Injured in Vice President Vance's Motorcade Crash
A harrowing scene unfolded in Maryville, Tennessee, on Friday night as a police officer was critically injured while providing security for Vice President JD Vance's motorcade. The incident occurred during an "executive protection mission" involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
Justin Brown, a Maryville Police Department officer and state trooper were involved in the collision with his police motorcycle. An ambulance part of the motorcade immediately provided medical attention to Brown after the accident.
Paramedics evaluated the injured trooper but did not transport him due to his stable condition. The U.S. Secret Service confirmed that Vice President Vance was a part of the motorcade, but fortunately did not get involved in the incident.
Brown is now undergoing surgery and has been described by officials as "one of our true heroes."
