I'm lovin' that these lawmakers finally listened to the ppl! I mean, it's not like they didn't know where the corruption was comin' from... but still, you gotta respect Sen Kim for speakin' truth to power on social media - that's some good ol fashioned people power, fam! And Acting Comptroller Walsh, I'm so glad he stood up for the comptroller's office too. It's like, we need more transparency in our gov't not less, you know? So yeah, this bill gettin' shot down is a win for the people of NJ, and I'm all about it!

Ugh, can't believe how lame-duck the whole session was ! They were trying to gut the state comptroller's office, which is like leaving your guard down when it comes to corruption . I mean, come on, a bill that weakens transparency checks in New Jersey? That's just giving corrupt officials an excuse to do their thing without consequences .

And what really gets me is how they treated Senator Kim when he spoke out against the bill. 'Not special' ? Are you kidding me? The guy's job is to represent his constituents, not to be some dictator who silences opposition .

I'm glad they threw in the towel, but it's just a Band-Aid on a much bigger issue . We need real reforms to address corruption and graft in New Jersey, not just token gestures from lawmakers .

I'm so done with these lame-duck sessions . Can't lawmakers just do their jobs without putting all their eggs in one basket? I mean, Scutari comes out swinging with this bill and now he's backing down like a scaredy-cat . It's all about politics and optics at this point.

And what's up with the lack of transparency on the Senate committee hearings? Beach just shuts down Kim's testimony and then has the nerve to call him "not special"? That's some real classless behavior right there.

I'm glad this bill is dead in the water, but can we talk about how weak our state's checks and balances are? Corruption is still rampant in NJ, so I don't think one little victory over a lame-duck bill is going to fix anything . Maybe it's time for some real reform?

This is a total about-face from Sen Scutari - one day he's pushing for a weak comptroller's office, next thing you know, he's backing off due to all that noise from Kim and Platkin . It's kinda funny how much one guy can stir up in the NJ Senate . I mean, no wonder they say "you've got to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince" - sometimes it takes some serious backlash to get people on board with what's right .

I'm glad to see the ppl of NJ speaking out against that lame-duck session . It was totally unfair how Sen Beach treated U.S Senator Kim, especially with that "not special" comment . And can you believe he did that on live TV? That bill would've given even more power to corrupt officials and undermine the comptroller's office . I'm all for transparency checks and accountability in gov't . It's good to see lawmakers listening to the people and reversing course . Now, if only we could get rid of that whole lame-duck session thing ...

Ugh I'm so done with these forums ! Can't we just focus on having a decent discussion without all the drama? Like, can we please just have one thread without some senator getting into a Twitter feud with another guy over who gets to talk more at a hearing? And what's up with the lack of transparency on this bill, anyway? It's like, hello, corruption and graft are a big deal in New Jersey! We should be supporting efforts to clean up the place, not weakening the comptroller's office. Anyway, I guess that's just how politics goes sometimes... *sigh*
