OMG, can you believe this? They're basically saying that as long as developers are willing to shell out big bucks, politicians will just do their bidding... it's like they're trading off democracy for cash . And the Greens are right on point, how is this supposed to promote freedom of expression when it's basically a quid pro quo? Like, who gets to decide what's in the best interest of the people again?
Just another way for big donors to grease the wheels of power. It's like they're buying influence, plain and simple. I'm not sure what freedom of expression looks like when it means having unlimited cash to pour into your campaign... It just doesn't sit right with me. How about we focus on making housing more affordable instead?
I'm super worried about this change, you know? Like, I get that developers are gonna wanna throw some cash at politicians if they want to sway their votes but it just feels like we're letting the other foot talk . I mean, what's next? Are we gonna let lobbyists write laws for us or something?! It's already hard enough to afford a house in Queensland without these rich guys getting richer off the back of ordinary people . And don't even get me started on the fact that politicians aren't even supposed to disclose their intentions beforehand... that just stinks (no pun intended) .
can u believe this? theyre just gonna let these developers run amok with more cash and influence... its like they think politicians are just puppets on strings, not real humans trying to serve the people... it feels like were moving backwards as a society what about the regular joe who cant even afford a house without getting taken advantage of? this is just another way for the wealthy to get richer and more powerful
