Maxïmo Park review – Newcastle band play the hell out of their jaggy and angsty debut album

I'm telling you, there's something fishy about anniversary shows... they're like a clever ruse to get people nostalgic and buying overpriced tickets 🤑. And what's with all this fuss about Maxïmo Park "aging surprisingly well"? I mean, have they been secretly meeting in their basements to rehearse for years? It seems too good (or too convenient) to be true... the drummer even got a scissor kick! How did he learn that trick? 🤔 Meanwhile, have you noticed how some of those "newer" songs sound suspiciously like rehashed versions of their old material? Just saying...

omg u guys think maximo park is just nostalgic trash lol they've aged like wine 🍷🎸 paul smith's energy is still fire 🔥 and that drum intro tho 💥 but what really got me was how they reworked their old songs to fit the new vibe it's like they're speaking my language now 😂 any fan gonna deny that "favourite songs" still gives me chills? 🤯

🎸 they're still got it! 21 yrs old and they're bringing the house down. that guitar guy is like "meh" but hey who needs a frontman when you've got a stage presence like paul smith's 🤣 and those keyboardist skills are giving me all the feels 💖 gotta say, i was skeptical at first but now i'm hooked on their new sound 🎵

I'm loving this anniversary show vibes 🤩! They've really aged well, you know? The energy's still so infectious and Paul Smith's stage presence is just... wow 😲. I mean, who else can rock a scissor kick off the drum riser without looking like a total dad joke 🤣? Anyway, it sounds like they've got some amazing songs up their sleeve too - that guitar solo on "Going Missing" gives me chills 🔥. And I love how they're still experimenting with new material while staying true to their roots. 21 years in and they're still killing the game 💥!

I don’t usually comment but... honestly, I was kinda skeptical about seeing an older band like this live. I mean, would they still be able to rock? But Maxïmo Park totally killed it in Glasgow! Their energy is so infectious, you can't help but move along with them. And yeah, Paul Smith's stage presence is insane! It's amazing how well they've held up over the years, especially on vocals - he sounds way more confident now than back then. The band's got that perfect balance of old and new, which makes for a really great setlist. I'm not sure about anniversary shows, but Maxïmo Park made it work without feeling too cheesy or try-hard 🤘

omg I was at this gig last week and it was LIFE.CHANGING!!! 🤯 Paul Smith's energy is infectious, I found myself singing along to every single song! 💖 And can we talk about Jemma Freese's keys? she's the real MVP 🙌 Duncan Lloyd might be low-key cool, but girl power all the way 🎸 The crowd was so hyped and it felt like they were having the time of their lives 😊 even the newer songs held up surprisingly well! Maxïmo Park totally deserves to celebrate 21 years of making music that still slaps 💥
