Israel hands over bodies of 45 Palestinians after Hamas returned the remains of 3 soldiers

Israel has handed over the bodies of 45 Palestinians, following Hamas's return of the remains of three Israeli hostages on Sunday. The exchange marked another significant step towards a tenuous ceasefire brokered by the US between Israel and the militant Hamas group.

The return of the three hostages - Capt. Omer Neutra, Staff Sgt. Oz Daniel, and Col. Assaf Hamami - was welcomed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office, who identified the victims as an American-Israeli tank crew member killed in a Hamas attack two years ago. The remains of Daniel, 19, and Hamami, commander of Israel's southern brigade in Gaza, were previously returned, but Neutra had been declared dead earlier.

The Palestinian health ministry reported that the bodies of 45 Palestinians arrived at the Nasser Hospital on Monday afternoon, bringing the total number of Palestinian bodies handed over since the ceasefire began to 270. However, only about 75 of these have been identified due to a lack of DNA testing kits in Gaza, according to the ministry.

Militants have released one or two bodies every few days under the ceasefire agreement, with Israel urging for faster progress and questioning some of the remains handed over as not belonging to hostages. Hamas claimed that the work is complicated by widespread devastation.

In related news, a major scandal has rocked Israel involving its former military's legal chief, Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, who was arrested after admitting to leaking a video of Israeli soldiers sexually assaulting a Palestinian detainee. Former chief military prosecutor Col. Matan Solomesh was also arrested.

Meanwhile, the international community is focused on ramping up aid for Gaza, including vaccination campaigns and increased crossings into the territory. U.K. Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper announced plans to visit Jordan and call on Israel to allow more aid into Gaza, while Britain will provide an additional $7.9 million in humanitarian support. A vaccine campaign targeting 40,000 Palestinian children under three years old is set to begin next week.

The conflict between Israel and Hamas has resulted in over 1,200 deaths and 68,800 Palestinians killed in Gaza, according to the health ministry. However, Israel disputes these figures without providing a contradicting toll.

I'm really worried about those 45 Palestinian bodies just getting handed over... ๐Ÿค• Like, what's the deal with DNA testing being super hard to get? That's gotta be super frustrating for families trying to find out who's really gone. And I feel bad that there's still so much destruction in Gaza - it's like, we should be working towards peace and stuff, you know? ๐Ÿค” The US is trying to broker a ceasefire and all, but it's just so slow... 270 bodies handed over already and not even 75 of them identified? That's crazy. And on top of that, the new scandal with the Israeli military chief just sucks - leaking videos like that is totally unacceptable. We should be focusing on helping Gaza get back on its feet, not having our leaders caught up in scandals... ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

I gotta say, this whole ceasefire thing is super sketchy ๐Ÿค”. Like, I get that it's better than all out war or whatever, but 270 Palestinian bodies just got handed over and only like 75 have been ID'd? That's some fishy business, if you ask me ๐ŸŸ. And don't even get me started on the Israeli soldiers who were caught on camera being total monsters ๐Ÿ‘Š. Major Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi needs to be held accountable for what she did ๐Ÿ’”.

And can we talk about how Israel's trying to dispute those Palestinian death tolls? Like, if they're so sure their own numbers are correct, why not just release the data? It sounds like they're just covering something up ๐Ÿคฅ. The US is brokering this ceasefire and all I'm seeing is a whole lot of BS ๐Ÿ’ธ.

The UK's trying to provide some aid for Gaza which is super great, but let's be real, it's gonna take more than just vaccines and money to fix the mess that's been made ๐Ÿค”. We need to see some real action taken by Israel and the US to address the root issues of this conflict.

Anyway, just my two cents on the whole situation ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ.

I'm still trying to process what's happening in Gaza ๐Ÿค•. I mean, the ceasefire is good, but what about all those people who are still living there? My friend's cousin has siblings who live in Gaza and it's heartbreaking to think about what they're going through. The situation is so complicated, I don't know how we can just expect everything to be okay. And what's with all the aid? Don't get me wrong, it's great that countries are stepping up, but I feel like we should be doing more. Like, have you seen those videos of kids without vaccines? It's horrific. We need to do better than just throwing money at the problem. We need to actually help people, not just give them temporary fixes.

man, i feel like this exchange is a good start, lets hope it holds up for a bit ๐Ÿคž. its wild that the remains of 3 hostages were finally returned and now we gotta wait & see how many more bodies show up under the ceasefire deal... the fact that there are still only 75 confirmed identifications is crazy tho, DNA testing kits in Gaza? come on! ๐Ÿšง meanwhile, those soldiers caught on camera getting all rough with a detainee need to face justice ASAP โš–๏ธ

just got word that the ceasefire agreement is holding for now ๐Ÿคž its about time we see some progress on getting aid into gaza, those 40k kids need vaccinations ASAP ๐Ÿšจ $7.9 million from britain is nice but lets be real, thats just a drop in the ocean considering how many ppl have died here ๐Ÿ’ธ also gotta say that whole video leak scandal is super messed up, cant believe someone in position of power would do something like that ๐Ÿ˜ก guess its another day in gaza with more suffering and less progress ๐Ÿค•

๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’” I'm all for some good news, right? So like, Israel and Hamas just exchanged hostages and it's all pretty cool... on paper. But let's be real, 270 Palestinian bodies handed over since the ceasefire started? That's still a lot of people dying or being killed, you know? ๐Ÿคฏ And only about 75 have been identified? It's like, we need some DNA testing kits up in there ASAP! ๐Ÿ‘€

I'm also kinda worried about this whole situation. Like, what if Israel and Hamas can't stick to the ceasefire agreement? We don't want another war, you feel me? ๐Ÿ’” And on top of that, there's this major scandal with Israeli soldiers abusing Palestinians... that's just not cool, man. ๐Ÿ˜’

But hey, at least something positive is happening, right? Like, the international community is stepping up to help Gaza with aid and vaccination campaigns. We need more people like Yvette Cooper calling out for Israel to allow more aid into Gaza ๐Ÿ™. And the fact that Britain is providing an extra $7.9 million in humanitarian support? That's some solid good vibes, bro! ๐Ÿ’ธ

๐Ÿค• Bodies of 45 Palestinians handed back to Nasser Hospital ๐Ÿšฎ just another part of this messy conflict... meanwhile ๐Ÿค” who's counting deaths in Gaza? ๐Ÿ“Š Over 1,200 + 68,800 = 69,000 ๐Ÿ‘€

lol what's going on with israel & hamas? they're literally trading dead people like that ๐Ÿคฏ it's wild to think about all those ppl caught up in this cycle of violence... anyway, i heard about the new aid plan from britain & japan (not mentioned here) and it's nice to see some positivity amidst all the chaos ๐Ÿ’ก but at what cost tho? all these innocent lives lost... can we just get a ceasefire already? ๐Ÿ™ 4real tho, why is there still no clear figure on how many ppl were killed in israel? seems fishy โ“

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole situation ๐Ÿคฏ... I mean, on one hand, it's good that we're seeing some movement towards a ceasefire, and the return of those hostages is definitely a positive step forward ๐Ÿ’•. But at the same time, 270 Palestinian bodies handed over? That's just crazy, you know? And only 75 have been identified because they can't get DNA testing kits in Gaza... what even is that? ๐Ÿค” It's like, I get that there's devastation and all that, but come on! Can't we at least try to process these remains properly? ๐Ÿ˜•

I cant help but think about the true cost of war ๐Ÿค•. These 45 bodies handed over are just numbers, but to the families of those who lost loved ones, it's a life taken away. It's heartbreaking that only 75 have been identified due to lack of resources ๐Ÿ’”. And what about the Israeli soldiers who were arrested for their actions? It's a tough question - are they still human beings deserving of dignity and respect, even if their actions were wrong? ๐Ÿค The international community is trying to provide aid, but it's not just about throwing money at the problem - we need to address the root causes of the conflict ๐Ÿค”. And what's the toll on Gaza, a place that's already been devastated by war? It's a cycle of violence and suffering that needs to be broken ๐Ÿ’”.

idk why everyone's so worked up about this exchange ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ like, what's the big deal? we're just talking about bodies and hostages and stuff ๐Ÿคช i mean i'm glad some ppl are gettin their loved ones back or whatever ๐Ÿ’• but can't we jus focus on the bigger picture? like, a vaccine campaign for 40k kids is a way bigger priority than who got killed in what attack last year ๐Ÿงฎ btw have u guys seen that vid of the Israeli military chief getting caught leakin pics of soldiers doin stuff they shouldn't be doin lol what's next? ๐Ÿคฏ

omg u guys can u believe its been like over 2 yrs since the ceasefire started & we still havnt seen any real progress ๐Ÿคฏ i mean 270 bodies handed over but only 75 identified lol what r they doing with the others? and wut about all these allegations of ppl being killed or injured by israeli soldiers...its all so sus ๐Ÿ˜’ and now this scandal with that military chief admitting to leaking a vid of israeli soldiers sexually assaulting a palstinian detainee...like how do u even get away with that kinda thing?! ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ anywayz lets just say i dont trust anythin they say about Gaza cuz i think its all just a big cover up ๐Ÿ˜’

Ugh I'm so sick of all this ๐Ÿคฏ, one minute they're bombing each other, next minute they're exchanging bodies... it's like they can't even get along with themselves, you know? ๐Ÿ™„ 270 Palestinian bodies handed over and only 75 identified? That's just a bunch of numbers, what about the families of these people who have to deal with this on a daily basis? ๐Ÿ˜ฉ The American-Israeli tank crew member killed in Hamas attack two years ago... I mean, what even is that? ๐Ÿค”

And don't even get me started on the Israeli soldiers sexually assaulting a Palestinian detainee, Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi getting arrested for it... that's just disgusting ๐Ÿ’ฉ. The international community needs to do more than just send aid, they need to hold these countries accountable for their actions. Vaccination campaigns and increased crossings into Gaza? That's all well and good, but what about the root cause of the conflict? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

It's like we're stuck in this never-ending cycle of violence and suffering... I just want some peace, you know? ๐Ÿ™ But until that happens, I'll just be over here ranting about it ๐Ÿ˜’.
