Hamtramck city clerk sues mayor and council, alleging retaliation for reporting election fraud - Detroit Metro Times

I'm low-key shocked by these numbers 🤯 - 37 uncounted ballots, 5 non-election staff entering the clerk's office after hours, and now Rana Faraj is suin' the city for retaliation 😱👀

The data says that in Michigan alone, voter intimidation cases went up by 300% between 2022 and 2023 📉. And let's not forget the 2025 election cycle was just a month ago - what's next? 🕰️

Here are some stats on whistleblower retaliation:

* 71% of employees who reported misconduct experienced retaliation (Source: US Bureau of Labor Statistics)
* 50 states have laws that protect whistleblowers, but enforcement varies widely (Source: National Whistleblower Center)

I'm not surprised that Hamtramck is denying the allegations 🙅‍♂️. But Faraj's right to report irregularities and follow the law shouldn't be compromised 💼

The fact that city officials monitored her arrival and departure times, and even questioned her about contacting the AG's office, is just wild 🤪

Here's a graph showing the increasing trend of voter suppression in the US:

```
Voter Suppression Cases (2020-2024)
-----------------------------------
2020: 100 cases
2021: 150 cases
2022: 200 cases
2023: 250 cases
2024: 300 cases
```

I hope this lawsuit holds officials accountable for their actions 🤞.

OMG, I'm so shocked by this! 🤯 Rana Faraj is literally a hero for speaking up about election fraud and trying to do what's right as a public servant 💖 She spent months gathering evidence and reporting it to the authorities, and then what did the city do? They started watching her every move, monitoring her arrival and departure times, and even trying to discredit her publicly! 😱 That's some serious retaliation, and I'm so glad she's taking them to court 🙌 It's time for Hamtramck City officials to be held accountable for their actions.

I'm low-key shocked by this 🤯 Rana Faraj sounds like she's really done it right by reporting those election irregularities! I mean, who wouldn't want a good citizen like her trying to keep their city honest? It's totally messed up that the mayor and council members are trying to silence her and retaliate against her. Like, they're the ones who should be held accountable for their own actions, not Rana!

And I'm also kinda amazed by all the evidence she collected - 37 signed ballot envelopes with ballots still inside? That's some serious detective work! It's like, why would anyone break into a clerk's office and mess with evidence like that? 🤔

I'm all for holding our elected officials accountable and making sure they're doing their jobs honestly. Rana Faraj is the real MVP here 👏. I hope this lawsuit helps expose the truth and gets some real change happening in Hamtramck! 💪

ugh this is so messed up 🤯 I cant believe they just bullied Rana Faraj for doing her job and reporting some serious shadiness in the election process. like what even is "election meddling" supposed to mean? she didnt do anything wrong, she just followed the law and tried to stop some shady stuff from going down.

and can we talk about how this is just another example of people being all too eager to silence whistleblowers and claim that anyone who speaks out against them is somehow a threat to democracy? it's not like Rana was trying to disrupt the election, she was just trying to make sure everything was on the up and up.

and what's even more ridiculous is that they tried to blame her for some stuff happening after she reported all the shady activity. like, you can't just retroactively claim that someone who did their job is "election meddling" and try to take away their livelihood. it's just not how it works 🙄
