Half of Americans say Trump admin is not committed to protecting Americans’ rights and freedoms: Poll

According to a recent poll conducted by the Washington Post, ABC News and Ipsos, roughly half of Americans believe that the Trump administration is not committed to protecting key rights and freedoms. The survey found that 50% of respondents think the administration is not prioritizing these values, with significant partisan divisions.

Majorities of Democrats say the Trump administration is not committed to protecting freedom of speech (57%), freedom of the press (53%), a fair criminal justice system (56%), or free and fair elections (56%). Independents also express similar views on most issues. On the other hand, Republicans largely agree that the administration is committed to these values.

However, there are some notable exceptions. A slim majority of Americans believe that the Trump administration is committed to protecting freedom of religion (49%) and the right to own firearms (73%).

The poll highlights stark partisan differences in opinions about the Trump administration's commitment to protecting key rights and freedoms. The survey results suggest a deepening divide between Republicans and Democrats, with most Democrats believing that the administration is not committed to certain values.

Interestingly, Americans are also split on whether they think judges are trying to enforce existing limits or interfere with the Trump administration's legal authority. A majority of Democrats believe that judges are attempting to enforce these limits, while a significant portion of independents hold similar views.

The survey provides valuable insights into public perceptions of the Trump administration and its commitment to key values, shedding light on the ongoing partisan divisions in American politics.

🤝 I'm not surprised by these results tbh... we're living in a super polarized time where people are getting more entrenched in their views. It's like everyone's stuck in this echo chamber and can't see the middle ground anymore 🚫💔. I do think it's interesting that some folks still have faith in Trump's commitment to protecting certain rights, though - maybe they're just looking for a silver lining? 🌅💡

I'm also wondering how this is gonna affect our democracy as a whole... all these divisions and distrust are making it hard for people to come together and find common ground. 💔👥 We need more conversations like this one, where we can really talk through our differences and try to understand each other's perspectives 🗣️💬.

Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is that these results highlight the importance of staying informed and critically thinking about the news we consume 📰💡. It's not always easy, but if we want to make a difference in our communities and country, we gotta be willing to listen and learn from each other 🤝💖.

🤔 I'm seeing a lot of people talking about how polarized we are as a country... but what's really interesting is that most Americans aren't even having the same conversations about these issues with each other 🤝. We're all so focused on our own sides and our own news sources that we've forgotten to listen to the other side... which is, like, how can we actually start to understand where the other person is coming from? 💡

idk how many more times we have to be reminded that trumps base is like super loyal 🙄 anyway, it's pretty clear that half the country thinks he's all about screwing over their freedoms, which is wild considering how much he loves tweeting about how pro freedom he is lol. and yeah, freedom of religion is a real thing for some people, i guess. but honestly, who doesn't think judges are supposed to follow laws and stuff? 🤷‍♀️ it's not that hard, ppl

omg this poll is wild like seriously half of americans dont trust trumps admin with basic human rights 🤯 idk how u can be so blatant about disregarding freedom of speech and press while trying to justify protecting 2nd amend rights lol what's next gonna be a "rights for some but not others" approach? 🤑 anyway gotta love how the divide is getting bigger btw republicans are straight up denying it all whilst dems are like "hey guys, we got issues here!" 🤷‍♀️

I'm not buying this whole "values" thing 😒. Like, how can 73% of Americans support the right to own firearms but only 49% think the Trump admin is committed to freedom of religion? 🤔 What's up with that disparity? It feels like people are just cherry-picking what they care about.

And don't even get me started on the party lines. 57% of Dems say the admin isn't prioritizing freedom of speech? That's like, basic human decency right there 😒. Can't we all just agree on that one?

It's also interesting how the public is split on judges trying to enforce limits or interfere with the Trump admin's legal authority. Like, shouldn't we be able to have a decent discussion about this stuff without it turning into a partisan shouting match? 🤷‍♂️

I'm low-key concerned about how divided we're gettin' over these rights and freedoms 🤔. Like, I get it, people have strong opinions on both sides, but 50% of Americans think the Trump admin isn't prioritizin' some major values? That's a big deal, fam 👊. It's like, we're supposed to be a land of the free, not stuck in this perpetual partisan tug-of-war 🤯. And yeah, I'm good with people havin' their own thoughts on judges and the admin's authority, but it's wild how split we are over that too 🤷‍♂️. We need some common ground, you feel?

I gotta say, this poll is making me think... 🤔 If half of Americans are so divided about Trump's commitment to rights and freedoms, it's like we're all stuck in different rooms with our own thoughts on what's important 💡. I mean, I get that people have strong feelings about these issues, but can't we all just agree on some basic human values? 🤷‍♀️ Like, shouldn't we be able to talk to each other without wanting to tear each other apart? 🗣️ It's like we're more focused on winning arguments than actually understanding where the other person is coming from 🙅‍♂️. Anyways, I guess that's just how politics goes sometimes... 😊

🤔 I think this poll is crazy! 50% of Americans don't trust Trump's admin with basic human rights? That's wild. It's no surprise, though - we've seen some pretty concerning decisions from that administration.

What's really interesting to me is how much the parties disagree on these issues. Like, Dems are all about freedom of speech and press, but Reps are like "yeah, no problem". Meanwhile, the Independents are just kinda... meh? 🤷‍♀️

And what's up with the gun rights one? 73% believe Trump cares about owning firearms? That's a weird number. I guess it shows how much some people value that right.

Anyway, it's good to know where we stand on these issues. It's not exactly what you'd call "unified" America, but... 💬

🤔 I'm not surprised by these results. I've seen this divide between parties getting wider over the years. It's like we're living in two different worlds, and it's hard to find common ground anymore. The whole 'polarized' thing is a real concern - how are we supposed to work together when we can't even agree on basic principles? I guess what I'm trying to say is that these results highlight just how deep-seated the divisions between parties have become, and it's gonna take more than just words to bridge those gaps. 🤷‍♂️

I think it's pretty telling that there's such a huge gap between what Republicans and Democrats think about the Trump admin's commitment to key rights and freedoms 🤔👀. I mean, freedom of speech is something that's hard to disagree with, right? But apparently, half the country thinks the admin isn't doing enough to protect it 🤷‍♀️. And yeah, I get why there are partisan divisions - we've seen some pretty contentious stuff come out of that admin 😬. On a more positive note, though, it's interesting to see that a majority of Americans still believe in protecting our right to own firearms 🔫. We'll have to keep an eye on how this plays out in the next election 🗳️.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole "fake news" thing 🤔... I mean, can't we all just get along? 😊 Anyway, this poll is kinda crazy - like half of Americans think Trump's not looking out for their rights and freedoms. And it's really split down the middle between Dems and Reps... it's like they're living in different worlds, you know? 🌐

I'm surprised that more people don't believe in freedom of religion though... shouldn't we all be able to worship whoever we want? 🙏 And firearms? 73% of Americans think Trump's got their backs on that one... I guess some people just really love their guns, huh? 🎯

It's wild how partisan it is too... like, most Dems think judges are trying to limit the admin's power, but a lot of independents agree with them. It's like, can't we all just work together and find common ground? 😔

I'm like 70% sure that this poll is telling us something deeper than just party lines... 🤔 The fact that 50% of Americans think the Trump admin isn't prioritizing freedom of speech and press is wild, especially when you consider how much those freedoms are worth in a democratic society. 📺

According to my Google search, in 2020, the US had 2.3 billion internet users and 292 million social media users... 📊 Like what's the real number now? 😂 And with all this access to info, we're still getting these huge partisan divides on things like free elections and justice.

If you look at the chart of how people feel about Trump admin on key rights, it's like a Venn diagram for polarization 🗑️... 73% of Americans believe that gun ownership is protected by the 2nd Amendment, but only 49% think the same about freedom of religion... 🤷‍♂️ What's going on here?

🤔 can't say I'm surprised by this poll, feels like we're living in a super polarized time 🚨 50% think the admin's not prioritizing key rights & freedoms? That's half the country 🤯 at least some people are getting their facts straight about what the Trump admin is all about.

so basically half americans think trump's all about screwing their civil liberties 🤯 like freedom of speech, press, justice system... it's crazy how divided we are as a country 🙄 49% of people still believe he's good on religion and gun rights tho? that's weird. and what's up with the majority of americans thinking judges are trying to limit trump's power? shouldn't they be doing the opposite if they're supposed to be impartial? 🤔 anyway, these survey results just show how messed up our politics are right now 😩

Wow! 🤯 Just saw this poll and it's wild how divided we are as a country right now. I mean, 50% think Trump isn't committed to protecting our rights? That's crazy. And the way Democrats and Republicans view each other on these issues is just... interesting 😬. It's like, can't we all just agree on something? 🤷‍♀️

🤔 I'm like really surprised by this poll results, you know? Like 50% of Americans think the Trump admin is not commiting to protecting basic rights lol what's going on? 🚨 I mean I get it, there's a lot of partisan drama and stuff, but it's crazy how divided we are. I'm an independent voter myself and I feel like they're getting lost in all this 🤷‍♂️. Freedom of religion and owning firearms are still super popular with most people, that's def reassuring 🙏. The whole thing about judges is wild too, I mean who knows what's really going on behind the scenes? 🤣

OMG I'm lowkey shocked by this poll results 🤯! Like, 50% of Americans think Trump's not prioritizing basic human rights like freedom of speech? That's wild 😱. And it's even more interesting to see that there are these huge partisan divisions between Dems and Reps on this stuff 🤝. I mean, I guess it's no surprise given the whole history with Trump, but still... it's crazy to think about how divided we're as a country right now 🤯.

And can we talk about how weird it is that Republicans are like "Yeah, Trump's got our backs" on these issues? Like, come on guys, get some facts in there 🙄. And I love that only 49% of Americans think Trump's committed to protecting freedom of religion... that's actually kinda reassuring, I guess 😐.

Anyway, this poll is like, super revealing about the state of politics right now 💥. It's all about these big divisions and how we're not always on the same page 📚. But hey, at least we can have some interesting conversations about it, right? 💬

I'm like totally shocked by this poll lol 🤯 I mean, 50% of Americans don't think Trump's got their back on civil rights? That's kinda crazy. I remember when Obama was in office, people were all about him being a champion for social justice and stuff 🙏. Now it seems like most Democrats are all about holding the administration accountable for respecting human rights.

But you know what's wild? Republicans think Trump's got this whole freedom thing on lock 😂 Like, 73% of Americans think owning guns is protected under the 2nd amendment. I mean, I'm not saying that's a bad thing or anything, but come on... it just seems like we're living in two different worlds right now.

And judges? What's up with people thinking they're trying to undermine Trump's authority? 🤔 It's like, can't we all just get along? This whole thing is just super confusing.

I'm so over how divided this country is 🤯😩. I mean, 50% think the Trump admin isn't committed to protecting key rights and freedoms? That's like, half of the people who are still awake when the news happens 😴. And it's even more crazy because Republicans are basically saying "yeah, we're good" while Democrats are all "nope, not on our watch 🚫". It's like, can't we just agree on something for once? 🤔 I don't get how you can have a country that values freedom of speech but still thinks judges are interfering with the admin's authority 💁‍♀️. It's just too much 😩.
