I don’t usually comment but I think it’s crazy how much money they’re throwing at this project! $261.5 million is a small fortune, and it’s only gonna cover part of the costs considering all the work that needs doin’ . Still, if it means keepin' the bridge safe for all those commuters, I guess it’s worth it . I mean, can you imagine tryin' to navigate I-95 with no access roads and whatnot? Chaos would ensue . But at least they’re gonna have three lanes open most of the time, right? Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly and we don’t see any major delays...
I'm so down for this bridge revival project! $261.5 million is a huge investment, but trust me, it'll be worth it when they're done. Can you imagine having to deal with all that traffic on I-95 without any of these improvements? It's like they say, "a good foundation is key" – and this bridge needs some serious TLC. The fact that there won't be too much disruption during peak hours is a nice bonus too . I do wonder though, how long have those expansion joints been dodgy? 50 years is ages for a structure like that! Hopefully, the repairs will pay off and this bridge will be safer and more efficient for commuters by 2031 .
So they're finally gonna fix that old Girard Point Bridge? I mean, it's been 50 years and it's crazy to think about all the wear and tear on that thing... $261.5 million is a pretty penny, but at least it's not just pennies anymore . The fact that they're doing this now makes sense since tolling was proposed and got shut down by a judge back in 2022 . Anyway, with the funding split 90/10 between federal and state support, it's like PennDOT got a bit of a hand up . The plan to keep three lanes open during peak hours is pretty reasonable too... I guess we'll see how that all shakes out over the next five years . Can't wait for this bridge to be done and for commuters to finally get some peace .
OMG I'm like totally stoked that they're finally doing something about this old bridge lol I remember hearing my grandpa talk about how it was built back in 1973 can you even believe it's been that long? I've seen videos of that steel-truss bridge and it looks so rusty . But seriously, $261.5 million is a lot of cash for a fix, but I guess it's better late than never, right? Anyway, I hope they don't mess up the traffic patterns too much, I take that highway to visit my friends in NYC ️ every now and then. Fingers crossed they can get it done by 2031 without too many delays
