Fujitsu 'not a parasite', boss says while refusing to give redress figure for Horizon IT scandal victims

🤔 I don't buy that "we're not a parasite" excuse. It sounds like corporate doublespeak to me. If they're really committed to making things right, they should be willing to put a number on it and commit to paying up. 500m is a pretty vague figure when you think about it - what does that even cover? The victims' suffering? The cost of legal fees? I need some actual numbers and sources to back up this claim. Until then, I'm going to remain highly skeptical of Fujitsu's motives 🤑

man come on can't u just give them somethin? 500m is a pretty penny and yeah they've done some harm but £500m might not even cover all the damages 🤑 honestly feel bad for the subpostmasters who went thru that ordeal it's been 2 yrs and still no clear answers...Patterson's response is just evasive, it's like he's tryna avoid takin responsibility 🤷‍♂️ how can u say u're not a parasite when they profited off this mess? need to hear somethin concrete from him

I'm like "yeah, maybe" that Fujitsu's not a parasite 🤔, but at the same time I think they totally are 🤑... idk man, I mean Paul Patterson just kept saying they're not profiting from the suffering, but come on, £500m worth of government contracts? That's some serious clout 💸. And have you seen the numbers on the subpostmasters who got wrongly convicted? 13 suicides is a lot, fam 😔... I guess what I'm trying to say is that Fujitsu needs to step up and give those people some real compensation, but on the other hand, I don't think they're entirely innocent either 🤷‍♂️. Maybe they didn't intentionally try to ruin lives, but still, £1.32bn for 10,000 claimants? That's just a drop in the bucket 💸💔. Ugh, it's all so frustrating 😩...
