From final boss battles to the dangers of open-world bloat, TV and film can learn a lot from video games

I'm so with you on this! 🤯 Stranger Things season finale was literally dragging me down with all those exposition scenes 😴 I get why they're trying to pay homage to the 80s, but it's like they forgot we're watching a show, not playing a game ⏰. At the same time, Edge of Tomorrow is like the perfect example of how video games can inspire some amazing storytelling 📺 John Wick 4 was fun for like an hour and then I just wanted to punch the screen in 😤 Can't they find that sweet spot where it's not too much? 🤔

And omg Indika sounds so mind-blowing! 💭 Five-hour playtime is so intense, but if it's as deep as you say, that's like a whole different kind of game altogether 🎮. Maybe the key is to take what works from video games and just make it more cinematic? Like, instead of side-quests, they could have character arcs or something 😊

OMG, I FEEL SO EXHAUSTED AFTER WATCHING THE STRANGER THINGS FINALE!!! IT WAS LIKE THEY JUST STRETCHED OUT A 10-HOUR VIDEO GAME INTO A 3-HR EPISODE 🤯😴 I GET WHY THEY WANTED TO PAY HOMAGE TO THE 80S AND GAMES, BUT COME ON! CAN'T WE JUST HAVE A SOLID STORY WITH SOME COOL ACTION SEQUENCESS WITHOUT ALL THE EXPOSITION?! 🙄 IT'S LIKE THEY FORGOT THAT WE'RE WATCHING A SHOW, NOT PLAYING A GAME 😅

OMG, u gotta be kiddin' me w/ that finale! 😂 I mean i love stranger things but dat last ep was like watchin a tutorial on how 2 use the plot device lol 🤣. I get it, they wanna pay homage to video games but c'mon can't we just have a decent cliffhanger instead of a 3 hour info dump? 😩

I think the whole thing is kinda cool 🤔, like when creators are inspired by video games it's dope to see them bring that energy to their shows & movies... but at the same time, I'm low-key annoyed when they go all out with open-world nonsense and make the story drag on for ages 😒. It's like, yeah, I get it, you wanna be like a game, but sometimes less is more, you know? 🤷‍♂️
