I'm keeping an eye on this Ecuador vote 
. It's like they're playing with fire here - allowing foreign military bases could totally escalate things in terms of security, and if Noboa's reforms are just a smokescreen for him to consolidate power, that's not good for the country at all...
I mean, 61% saying yes to bases is crazy high, like what's wrong with Ecuadorians right now?
Anyway, it'll be interesting to see how this plays out - if they can make some real progress on reducing crime and corruption, maybe there's a chance for the country to move forward. But if Noboa uses these reforms to further silence dissenting voices...
