Eagles GM Howie Roseman on A.J. Brown: 'You just don't get rid of guys like that'

Eagles GM Roseman Stands Firm on A.J. Brown, Denies Trade Talk

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman emphasized the importance of A.J. Brown to the team's success in the second half of the season, stating that it would be difficult for them to part ways with a player as valuable as Brown.

Roseman refused to comment on whether there were any trade offers made for Brown before the league deadline earlier this week, instead focusing on the significance of having him back from his recent hamstring injury. The team is counting on Brown's return to boost their chances in their quest for a Super Bowl repeat.

When questioned about Brown's status within the organization, Roseman made it clear that the receiver is an integral part of the team, using Brown's leadership role as captain as evidence. "I think when you're trying to be a great team, it's hard to trade great players... You just don't get rid of guys like that," Roseman said.

Brown has been a crucial component of the Eagles' passing game since his arrival in 2022 and played a pivotal role in their Super Bowl-winning season last year. However, this season has seen stretches where Brown struggled to find consistency, leading some to speculate about internal issues within the team.

Despite these concerns, Roseman reaffirmed the importance of having Brown on the roster, saying that the team feels "lucky" to have him and is excited for the second half of the season with him. With Brown expected to return from his injury in time for their Week 10 matchup against the Packers, it appears that he will continue to be a key player in the Eagles' quest for success.

The team's commitment to keeping Brown has been consistent throughout the season, with players and coaches consistently praising his value to the operation. While some have speculated about internal issues, Roseman's comments suggest that any concerns can be put to rest โ€“ for now.

I get why Philly is sticking with A.J. Brown ๐Ÿค”... he was key last year & has been a great addition to their squad. But at the same time, I'm curious about those internal issues some ppl are talking about... if there r problems, wouldn't it be best to address them instead of ignoring 'em? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ Still, it's clear Howie Roseman knows what he's doing & thinks Brown is a big part of their team's future. Can't argue w/ that ๐Ÿ‘

OMG, I'm so happy to hear that Philly is standing firm on A.J. Brown ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ! Like, who wouldn't want a player as clutch as him in the playoffs? ๐Ÿ˜… And Roseman's words about how hard it is to trade great players really resonates with me... I mean, I've seen this happen before and it's always devastating for fans ๐Ÿค•. The fact that Brown is being treated like a captain shows you just how important he is to the team ๐Ÿ‘Š. Now I'm even more hyped for their Week 10 matchup against the Packers! Fingers crossed they can make some magic happen ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐Ÿˆ

๐Ÿค” I'm kinda surprised they didn't try to shop A.J. Brown around considering he had a decent 2022 season and was super clutch in the playoffs last year... ๐Ÿˆ But then again, Roseman is like that one uncle who refuses to let go of his favorite nephew ๐Ÿ˜‚. The team's got a good thing going with him and they don't wanna mess it up. And honestly, I think Brown has been feeling the pressure this season and we saw flashes of his old form when he was back in action... maybe this break will do him some good ๐Ÿคž

omg u guys I'm literally shaking rn ๐Ÿ’ฅ Eagles GM Howie Roseman is like super committed to A.J. Brown ๐Ÿ™Œ he's literally saying they won't trade him even if it means giving up a bunch of draft picks cuz he's too important ๐Ÿคฏ! and can you believe he mentioned that Brown is the team captain? ๐Ÿ˜‚ I mean we all knew he was vital to their passing game, but Roseman just made it clear ๐Ÿ”ด๐Ÿ‘. the only concern now is if they'll get past the second half of the season without major injuries... fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž

๐Ÿ˜Š I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole trade talk thing with A.J. Brown. It just seems like every time there's a rumor about him being sent out the door, GM Howie Roseman comes back and says he's not going anywhere. Like, what's up? Is there something we're missing? ๐Ÿค” I get that he's a crucial part of their passing game and all, but it's weird to see how committed they are to keeping him. Maybe I'm just not understanding the situation, but it seems like there might be more to this story than meets the eye... or maybe I'm just overthinking it ๐Ÿ˜…

just saw this ๐Ÿค” and i gotta say, aj brown is def a key player for the eagles... i mean, he's been through some ups and downs since 2022 but he's still got that super bowl winner magic ๐Ÿ’ฅ what roseman said about him being an integral part of the team makes sense to me too ๐Ÿค [www.nfl.com](http://www.nfl.com)

omg what a relief its great 2 hear that AJ is stayin with Philly i was gettin worried dat he might get traded lol so hopefully he gets back from his injury and we cn c him lead the team 2 more victories ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ‘ roseman seems like a smart GM 4 makin decisions 2 benefit the team, gotta love how passionate he is bout keeping aj on board ๐Ÿ’ช

omg u guys i cant even imagine if eagles were 2 trade aj brown ๐Ÿ˜ฑ he's literally been a game changer since he joined in 2022 and his leadership skills r insane ๐Ÿคฏ i mean howie roseman said it straight up, u can't just get rid of players like that when u wanna be a great team ๐Ÿ† so yeah, im all 4 eagles to keep him ๐Ÿ‘

I don't think its fair to say Howie Roseman is out of touch with reality lol ๐Ÿ˜‚ I mean A.J. Brown has had a pretty rough season so far and some people are gonna say what he's gotta do is step up his game ๐Ÿค”. But at the same time, if Roseman really believes Brown is that crucial to the team's success then maybe we should give him another chance? ๐Ÿ™. I'm not saying it's gonna be easy for Brown to turn things around but having a captain like him on the field can make all the difference ๐Ÿ’ช. And let's be real, if Roseman thinks he's worth more than that 100 million dollar contract then maybe he should try negotiating or something ๐Ÿ˜‚
