Conservation groups split over Hochul’s plan to roll back parts of environmental law

omg i cant even 🤯 i'm all about solving ny's housing crisis but dont think for a sec that we gotta sacrifice our planet for it 😩 so yeah i get where environmental groups are coming from its like totally crucial to protect clean water and habitats 🌿🐠 but at the same time, 100k+ people in ny are struggling to find an affordable place to live 💸😭 what do i think? id say let's compromise 🤝 maybe we can make some tweaks to seqra that still prioritize enviro protections while also fast-tracking approved housing projects 💡 like adding more mass transit options or incentivizing devs to build on previously disturbed land connected to water & sewer 🚧🌳 but overall, lets not sacrifice our future for the sake of expediency ⏱️

I dont think we can rush into making housing more affordable without considering the consequences on our planet 🌎. We gotta find that balance between progress & preservation. The bottleneck argument makes sense, but at what cost? If we speed up development too much, are we just delaying the inevitable environmental damage? Its not a hard no or yes issue...its about weighing the pros & cons carefully 💡.

omg i think this is such a tricky situation 🤯... i mean we need more affordable housing in NYC ASAP but at the same time we gotta protect our environment & water sources 🌿💧... Hochul's idea to exempt bigger projects from some environmental reviews might be able to speed things up, but what if it hurts our planet in the long run? 😬... i think some of these environmental groups are being super reasonable by saying that denser housing close to transit can actually help reduce carbon emissions 🚀... but i also get why others would want to stick to the original rules 💪... any way, this debate is gonna be so interesting to watch! 📺

I mean come on, who doesn't love a good housing crisis? 😂 It's like the ultimate puzzle: how do we make enough houses to keep everyone from freezing their buns off in NYC without destroying the planet. I guess Kathy Hochul is trying her best, but those environmentalists are just like the superheroes of sustainability – always saving the day (and the environment). But for real, who gets to decide what's a "significant impact" on water and sewer? Sounds like some complicated math, if you ask me 🤣. Can we just have some affordable housing and a decent Netflix show without having to debate it all night?

I MEAN COME ON, IT'S TIME FOR NEW YORK TO GET ITS ACT TOGETHER ON HOUSING AFFORDABILITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION!!! 🤯💪 I'M ALL FOR CREATING DENSER HOUSING CLOSE TO TRANSPORTATION HUBS AS PATRICK MCCLELLAN SAID, BUT WE CAN'T JUST ROLL OVER AND LET DEVELOPERS RUN WILD WITHOUT ANY REGULATIONS. 🚧💧 THE ENVIRONMENT IS NOT A BOTTLE NECK, IT'S A CRUCIAL PART OF OUR PLANETARY SURVIVAL!!! 😩

I'm telling ya, back in my day we didn't have all these fancy environmental regulations 🙄 but somehow our housing was still decent... I mean, I remember living in a tiny studio in Manhattan and it was cozy 😂. But seriously, this Hochul plan is like, don't get me wrong, we need more affordable housing, but can't we find a way to make it work without sacrificing our planet's future? 🤔 It's like, I get that the environmental groups are all about protecting clean water and habitats, but come on, can't they just chill for once? 😂 The thing is, I think Hochul's plan is actually trying to help with the housing crisis by fast-tracking approved projects, which could lead to more affordable housing options. It's like, we need to find that balance between progress and preserving our environment. 🌎
