Clouded judgment? Why Pantone's colour of the year is causing controversy

I mean come on ๐Ÿ™„... Can't Pantone just pick a colour without all the drama? Cloud dancer is literally just white... How hard can it be to choose a cool or warm tone?! ๐Ÿ˜‚ And what's with all these interpretations about "quiet luxury" and white supremacy?! It feels like people are reading way too much into it ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. Can't we just enjoy a nice neutral colour without having to dive down the rabbit hole of social commentary? ๐Ÿ™„

๐Ÿค” I gotta say, I'm a bit torn about this whole cloud dancer thing... I mean, on one hand, I think Paddy O'Donnell has a legit point about how it could add some warmth to interior design ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ’ก But then I started thinking about Gabrielle's point about it being like a dog-whistle for white supremacists ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ‘€ And that just kinda made me feel uneasy.

I don't know, maybe I'm just overthinking this whole thing... but isn't the Colour of the Year supposed to be all about inspiring creativity and self-expression? Instead, we're having this huge debate about whether it's too "clean" or "neutral"... shouldn't we be pushing for something that challenges our perspectives and makes us feel uncomfortable, you know? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Like, remember when they first introduced that bright pink colour a few years ago? That got people talking! ๐Ÿ’—

Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is, let's not get too caught up in the marketing speak... let's use this Colour of the Year thing as an opportunity to actually think about what we want our world to look like. ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’ก

I'm so done with this colour trend ๐Ÿ˜’. I think Pantone is trying to push some kinda "clean" aesthetic but honestly it just looks bland ๐Ÿคข. My kid's room was painted white when she was tiny, now that she's older she thinks it's boring ๐Ÿ’”. What about all the gorgeous colours that can bring warmth and energy to our lives? I mean who needs a colour that's just gonna sit there looking blank and boring all day? ๐Ÿ˜ด
