Charges considered after child drowns at Oakland County Athletic Club - Detroit Metro Times

OMG, this is soooo crazy!!! 🤯 Like, what kind of mom leaves 6 kids alone in the pool for like, EVER?! 😱 I mean, I know they said they were just getting food and stuff, but COME ON! You gotta keep an eye on your own kids, let alone your niece/nephew's!!! 🤷‍♀️ And don't even get me started on those pool signs... like, who ignores that?! 🙄 Pool toys and noodles aren't gonna save you if someone drowns, duh! 💦

I'm literally shaking just thinking about it... 😨 And the sheriff is right, this was totally preventable with some basic supervision. Like, no one's got time for that! 😩 I hope those 2 moms are held accountable for their actions... like, they should be! 🚔

🤕 I'm shocked that these parents would leave their kids alone in a pool for 35 minutes - it's like they think the pool toys are enough to keep them safe? 🚫 Newsflash: even with toys, children need constant adult supervision, especially when it comes to water safety. It's like we're saying that just because there's a warning sign on the pool, parents are off the hook? No way! That's just lazy parenting. And what's with these parents thinking they can leave their kids unattended in a public pool? Don't they know that's just asking for trouble? 🤦‍♀️ This is a perfect example of why we need stricter laws and better enforcement when it comes to child safety. I mean, come on, folks - if you're going to let your kids swim alone in a pool, at least hire a lifeguard! 💦

This whole thing just gives me chills... 😱 35 minutes unattended? That's just irresponsible, plain and simple. I mean, you know your kids are out there in that pool, even if they're old enough to look after themselves. It's not like they can just put on a game or something while you're getting snacks from the restaurant 🍔🥤. And what about all those signs saying no lifeguard and no unsupervised kids? I guess it didn't sink in (no pun intended) for these two women.

I've been around long enough to know that kids can get into some kind of trouble if you're not watching them, especially when they're young like that. You gotta be the grown-ups, even when your siblings or nieces and nephews are looking out for each other. I just hope those two ladies take responsibility for what happened...
