I mean, can you imagine trying to build a ship without one? It'd be like trying to hammer nails with a stick! His machine simplified the process so much that it basically made the whole industry faster and more efficient.

um wait so like i was reading this article about some dutch guy inventing a sawmill thingy and i'm like wow that's cool but then i started thinking about how did they actually make the ships go fast on water and wasn't it like, sails or something? so yeah maybe corneliszoon's invention is kinda old news now but it's still pretty neat. as for greatest inventions deserving more recognition id say something like... a trash compactor because let's be real we're running out of space and stuff.
