Brooklyn man charged with pushing 72-year-old into moving Bronx subway train

New York Man's Shocking Attack on Elderly Commuter Caught on Camera

In a shocking incident that has left the city reeling, 29-year-old Anton Aleshin from Brooklyn has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly pushing a 72-year-old man into a moving subway train at the Bronx's 161st Street-Yankee Stadium station. The victim, who sustained severe cuts to his head and lost consciousness, was rushed to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.

According to police, Aleshin made his arraignment on Thursday after being arrested about 20 minutes following the attack, which occurred around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. The investigation revealed that surveillance footage showed the defendant's involvement in the incident, and witnesses corroborated their accounts.

Aleshin has pleaded not guilty to the charges of attempted murder and assault, with his attorney thus far refusing comment on the matter. The shocking attack highlights the increasing concerns over subway safety, leaving commuters shaken and concerned about their own safety while traveling through the city's busy transit system.

omg just watched that video and i'm still shakin 🤯 like what is wrong with people these days? it's not like you're gonna make a difference by hurting someone else. and yeah subway safety has been a major issue for ages, but this takes the cake. i mean, 72 years old pushing onto a moving train? poor guy must've been traumatized 😩 anyway, i hope Aleshin gets what he deserves behind bars 👊

OMG you guys!! this is soooo disturbing 🤯 I mean, can you even imagine being in that situation and having to push someone onto a train?? it's like something out of a horror movie 😱 The fact that the dude was trying to attack an elderly commuter is just heartbreaking. And what's with the timing, 3:30 am? who does that?! 🕰️ the investigation is going on but I hope the guy gets the help he needs, and the victims family too 💔 this whole thing is just really sad 😔

omg what's goin on in nyc right now? some dude just pushed an elderly man onto a subway train 🚫💔 can't even imagine how scary that must've been for witnesses like, they musta frozen in shock or somethin' 😱. we need to talk about the mental health resources for people who are strugglin' with aggression & impulse control, 'cause this kinda thing doesn't happen by accident... like, someone's gotta be helpin' this guy get the support he needs 🤗 subway safety is definitely a concern, but can't we also be thinkin' about the human behind the headlines? there's always more to the story, right? 💡

I'm still trying to process what happened in that Bronx station 🤯. It's just insane to think someone would do something so brutal to another human being. The fact that it was caught on camera is what's really getting me - I mean, can you imagine witnessing this and not doing anything? 😩 We need to talk about the state of our subway system and how we can make it safer for everyone, especially seniors who are most vulnerable 🚂💡 I'm all for increasing security measures, but at the same time, let's also discuss the mental health implications of living in a city with such high crime rates... it's not just about fixing the problem, it's about understanding what's driving people to do these heinous acts 💔

Wow, just another Tuesday in New York 🤦‍♂️... like we haven't seen enough crazy stuff on those subways already! Can't believe some people have no regard for human life, especially seniors 🙅‍♂️. I mean, who pushes someone onto a train? It's literally not that hard to be kind and considerate towards others, you know? And now we get to deal with the aftermath of this senseless act... great joy 😒. The whole thing is just so shocking, but honestly, I'm surprised it took 20 minutes for them to catch this guy 🕰️. Guess that's just part of the subway experience in NYC: being at the mercy of crazy people all day long 😩.
