Brock Nelson, Jonathan Drouin lead Islanders-Avalanche game filled with ‘strange’ connections

omg what's up w/ the jersey numbers tho? 🤯 I mean, I get it, it's cool that they're repping their old teams but come on Brock and Jonathan, can't you just change it to 40 or something? 😂 it's like, you're still the same player, you don't have to wear that number anymore. and btw, what's w/ all the familiar faces?! 😅 it's like they're having some kind of nostalgic hockey party 🎉. I'm low-key excited for Max Shabanov tho, been waiting for him to get back on the ice 💪

🤔 The fact that Brock Nelson and Jonathan Drouin's past teams are now their current opponents is giving me some vibes... like, what even is normal anymore? 🤷‍♂️ As they face off against familiar faces from their former teams, it feels like time has flown by – those players were once teammates, rivals, or even friends. And now, they're on opposite sides of the ice. It's a weird nostalgia, but also kinda awesome? 😎 Watching Patrick Roy get the tribute video and standing ovation was pretty cool though, he's definitely left his mark on the game.

I'm not convinced by these "strange connections" between Brock Nelson and Jonathan Drouin... 🤔 Still trying to figure out why they'd both choose jersey numbers that used to belong to them, but now don't. It just seems like a weird coincidence? Not buying the emotional reunion story either... what's next, a Hall of Fame induction ceremony for Cal Ritchie? 😂

You know what's really cool? These guys are still playing the game they love, and it's amazing how their passion translates into these intense matches 💪🏻. I mean, Brock Nelson catching his own jersey number was like, wow, that's wild 😱. And to see Patrick Roy get that tribute video and standing ovation... it's just a beautiful thing ❤️. It shows how much hockey means to the fans and the players alike 🙌.

And you know what's even more impressive? These guys are facing off against their old teams, but they're still giving it their all 💥. I love how Max Shabanov is back on the ice after an injury 🤞, and Scott Mayfield finally returns to the team after being away with his new baby 👶.

It's just a reminder that even when life takes unexpected turns, you can always find your way back to what makes you happy – in this case, hockey ⏒️. And let's be real, it's pretty awesome to see players making their old teams go down 💥!

😊 Just watched this Brock Nelson and Jonathan Drouin game against their old teams and I gotta say it was like seeing an old mate come back to town! 🤝 Those two guys were all over the ice, and it was great to see them getting revenge on some of the teams that let 'em go. 🏒️ The Isles made a few lineup changes too, with Max Shabanov coming back from injury, which is always good news for the team. And I love how they gave Ray Bennett an assistant coaching gig - he's still got connections to the team, even if he's not playing. 👍 It was a weird feeling seeing their old jersey numbers on the other guys, but it all worked out in the end! 🏆

🤔 I'm so over this reunion thing. It's just hockey, guys! Can't we focus on the actual game instead of dwelling on past teams? 🏒️ Brock Nelson and Jonathan Drouin are pros, they can handle seeing old jerseys - it's not like it's going to affect their performance on the ice. And yeah, Cal Ritchie making his debut was cool and all, but let's not make a big deal out of it. It's just one game, folks! 😂
