Anthony Joshua needs time to process friends' deaths before decision on boxing future, says Eddie Hearn

Anthony Joshua Will Need Time to Come to Terms Before Making Decision on Boxing Future, Says Eddie Hearn

Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that Anthony Joshua will require time to process his emotions before making a decision about his future in the ring. The former heavyweight champion's close friends and team members Sina Ghami and Latif "Latz" Ayodele died in a tragic car accident near Lagos, Nigeria on December 29.

Hearn told Sportsman Boxing: "I've had a few conversations with him." It's only now we've been talking more because it's going to take you time to get over something like that. I think all you can do in this situation is let people have their time."

Joshua was also travelling in the vehicle at the time of the accident and suffered minor injuries.

When asked about Joshua's plans for his future, Hearn said: "It baffles me that people are on me asking what's next and if I have spoken to him about his career. No, those conversations are a long way away."

Hearn believes that Joshua will eventually want to get back to boxing after he has grieved, but acknowledges that the time needed for this will be different for everyone.

The promoter added: "If he never fought again, you could never ever blame him." Hearn's heart breaks for Joshua after the passing of his two close friends who were instrumental in his success.

He stated that Sina and Latz were incredibly loyal and passionate members of Joshua's team. Their deaths have clearly had a profound impact on Joshua, as he was close to them.

Hearn concluded: "That's why we've got to be there for him. We've got to give him all the support he needs and the time that he needs to make a decision on what he'll do."

man this is such a tough spot for anthony joshua πŸ€• I feel bad for the guy, losing his close friends in a tragic accident like that... you can't just expect him to jump back into boxing after something like that happens. he needs time to process his emotions and grieve, and it's not fair to put pressure on him to make a decision right away. eddie hearn is right, it's gonna take time for anthony to come to terms with what happened πŸ•°οΈ hopefully he'll be okay soon, but for now, let's just give him space πŸ’”

πŸ˜” Anthony's situation is really tough right now, but I think this is a great opportunity for us to talk about how we handle loss and grief. Life's gonna throw you curveballs, and sometimes it feels like everything comes crashing down around you. But the thing is, you can't rush through those emotions; you gotta let them settle in and process 'em. Anthony's team needs to be patient with him and give him space to figure things out – it's not about being "on" or "off" the boxing scene, it's about finding himself again after a huge loss πŸ€•. We all need support during those times, and that's what friends and family are for πŸ’•. Sometimes, taking time for yourself is the best decision you can make, even if it means putting your plans on hold ⏰.

πŸ€• Anthony Joshua is going through a tough time right now πŸ˜”. He lost two close friends in a car accident, which is just devastating πŸ’”. It's normal for him to need some space and time to process his emotions before making any big decisions about his boxing future 🀯.

I'm not surprised that Eddie Hearn is being super supportive and giving Joshua all the time he needs ❀️. As a friend and promoter, it's his job to be there for Anthony, and I appreciate how open and honest he's being about their situation πŸ™.

It's great that Hearn is reminding people that Joshua doesn't have to rush into anything and that it's okay if he decides not to fight again πŸ€—. At the end of the day, his well-being and happiness should be the priority πŸ’–.

Here's a simple diagram to show how I'm feeling about this situation:

πŸ˜” It's heartbreaking to think about Anthony Joshua going through this tough time. Losing someone close is never easy, and I can imagine how devastating it must be for him to lose not one but two people who meant a lot to him 😭. Eddie Hearn is right, he needs time to process his emotions and come to terms with what's happened πŸ’”. It's not about rushing back to boxing; it's about taking care of himself and finding the strength to move forward again πŸ€—. We should be sending our support and love to Anthony Joshua and his team during this difficult period ❀️.
