Albania v England: World Cup 2026 qualifying – live

England is taking on Albania in a crucial World Cup qualifying match with the three lions desperate for a win to build momentum before the tournament next year.

As the whistle blows, the English team takes to the field with their backline looking solid with Quansah at right-back and Stones holding down centre-half alongside Burn. The midfield trio of Wharton, Bellingham, and Rice looks to dictate the pace but it's clear that England are not taking this tie lightly as they look for a comfortable win.

In a slick move, Bowen picks out Kane on the edge of the box with O'Reilly providing the through ball. However, Strakosha makes an easy save to deny Kane his 76th goal and England's first of the match. The Albania goalkeeper then almost scores himself when Rice finds him with a well-struck cross that leaves Strakosha scrambling.

England's pressure is building as O'Reilly picks out Bellingham down the left flank, but their attack falters slightly before Bowen is fouled by Hysaj and England are forced into a corner. The set-piece is expertly cleared by Burn, though.

As the half draws to a close, England are on top, but Albania's Hoxha wins another corner through his pace and determination, with Asllani taking aim from the spot. Bowen clears at near post, sending the crowd wild.

With just minutes left in the first half, Declan Rice sends it back to Dean Henderson and England are under way. However, the English team are struggling to break Albania's defensive line and we can expect a second-half dominated by the visitors with the air of confidence growing around them.

England is having a tough time against Albania, but you gotta give 'em credit for not panicking 😅. They're building up that pressure, but Albania's defense is looking solid. Strakosha is making some amazing saves, and I'm surprised England aren't scoring more goals considering how many chances they're having.

The thing that's got me thinking is that England needs to work on their counter-attacks 🤔. They're dominating possession, but when they get caught out, Albania is catching them off guard. It's like they're trying to take control of the game too quickly, and it's leaving them open to those quick Albanian breaks.

I'm excited to see how England will adapt in the second half though 💪. They need a win to build momentum for next year's World Cup, so I expect them to push through and make some serious progress. Let's hope they can get that first goal soon ⏰!

Ugh, I'm already feeling like this match is gonna be a disaster for the 3 Lions 🤦‍♂️. They're just being too cautious and not taking enough risks on the pitch. And that corner kick they had? Yeah, it was basically begging to be cleared by Burn, but somehow he still managed to make it out unscathed 🙄. I mean, what's the point of even having a World Cup qualifying match if you're just gonna play it safe all the time? It's like England is trying to set themselves up for a disappointing exit from the tournament already 😬. And don't even get me started on their midfield trio – Wharton, Bellingham, and Rice are just not moving at the same pace as Albania 🚫. This one's gotta be a tough loss for England...

🤔 come on... 76th goal for Kane? that's some crazy stats dude! 🙄 but seriously, how did Strakosha make that save? was it a freak shot or did he actually make a great stop? need to see the replay to believe it 📹 also, what's with the midfield trio not being able to create more chances? Wharton and Bellingham are decent players, but rice is having an off day, imo ⚽

ugh I'm literally on edge rn my bf is watching this match with me and he's being super supportive 🤗 he's been bugging me all day to make some snacks for him while the game is on btw I was so stressed about it earlier because we have a big family gathering next weekend and I still need to finish baking his mom's famous cake 🎂🍰 my little niece just spilled an entire box of flour all over the kitchen lol anyway back to the match idk how England's gonna bounce back from that near miss 😅

I'm lovin' the tension build-up before this match! 🤯 50/50 odds for England win at the start of this qualifying match were kinda low, but Albania's got some serious fight in 'em 🔥 I mean, only 1 loss in last 10 matches, and they're still giving the 3 Lions a run for their money 🏃‍♂️

Quick stats:
- England's Kane has averaged a goal every 90 minutes over the past year 🚀
- Albania's Strakosha has made at least 1 save in 7 straight matches 👍

The midfield battle between Wharton, Bellingham, and Rice is heating up 🔥 They're all top-class players, but I'm thinkin' it's gonna be a game of possession & strategy. England can't let their foot off the gas if they wanna get that win 💪

come on england 😂 this is what they need, momentum and wins before the world cup! 76 goals for keane? that's crazy! but albania's got some speed too 🏃‍♂️ hoxha's pace is giving those english defenders a run for their money. gotta see how england adjust in the second half ⏰

Ugh, I'm so over these match previews 🙄. They're always so predictable. "England taking on Albania in crucial World Cup qualifying match"... how original 😴. Can't they come up with something more creative?

And honestly, what's with the lack of analysis? It's just a bunch of generic phrases about the team's strategy and the players' skills 🤔. Where's the depth? The insight? I mean, I know I'm reading a preview on an online forum and not a mainstream sports site, but can't we at least try to be a bit more interesting?

And don't even get me started on the formatting 📚. "The midfield trio of Wharton, Bellingham, and Rice looks to dictate the pace"... can't they just break it up into paragraphs or something? It's like they're trying to make this as boring as possible 😒.

I mean, I guess if you're a die-hard England fan or just looking for some surface-level info about the match, then maybe this preview is okay 🤷‍♂️. But for anyone else, can't we expect a bit more from our online sports forums?

The Albanians are doing alright for themselves 🤷‍♂️, I'll give 'em that. I mean, who wouldn't want to play a team with all those superstars like Stones and Kane on their side? 😂 Those guys are basically the whole reason England's been struggling lately. But hey, you can't expect them to score every time they get close to the goal, right? 🤦‍♂️ The English defense is looking solid, that's for sure... as long as they don't let those Albanian wingers get past 'em. ⚽️ Can't say I'm holding my breath for a dramatic comeback from England, though 😊

I'm loving the intensity of this match so far 🤩! England is definitely giving it their all, but I gotta say, I'm a bit surprised they're not pulling away more convincingly. The midfield trio is looking strong, and Kane's been causing some problems for Albania's defense, but that save from Strakosha was huge 🙌.

I think the key to this match will be how England adapts in the second half. Will they be able to find a way past Albania's solid backline? Can they keep their momentum going after a decent first half? It's definitely looking like a battle of wills here, and I'm excited to see how it all plays out 📺!

Omg I'm low-key hyped for this match tho! 🤩 England needs that win ASAP or it'll be a major bummer for the Three Lions squad, you feel? 🙅‍♂️ The way Quansah is holding down that right-back spot looks 🔒 solid, but Albania's Strakosha is looking 🔥 in goal. I love how Kane is getting those chances, though! 💪 Kane 76th goal is gonna happen SOON! ⏰ Can't wait to see what the second half brings, this tie is shaping up to be a real barn burner 🔥💥

just watched this match live 🏟️👀 and i gotta say england is looking a bit dodgy atm 😅 their midfield is being nullified and albans def line is solid 💪 quansah is doing well at rb but they need to find that second gear ⚡️ Kane's still hungry for goals though, 76th and counting 🤩 Strakosha's got the skills tho, saved like 5 chances already 😲 Bowen's looking sharp on the wing, lets hope he can create more chances 🔥 stats say england have a 60% possession ratio but albans are holding strong 💯

Ugh, I'm so over these set pieces in football... 🙄 They're just a waste of time, always leading to a corner that ends up being easily cleared 🤦‍♂️. And can we please get rid of those goalkeeper saves where they almost score? It's like they're trying to troll us 😜. And what's with the constant corners from Albania? You'd think they'd try to mix it up a bit, but nope... just keep kicking away 🙃. I'm still hoping England can turn this around in the second half, but right now, I'm not feeling confident 💔

I don’t usually comment but I think it’s crazy that England is getting so much pressure from this match 🤯🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. They seem to be taking Albania pretty seriously and it's showing in their play 💪. The way they're pressing and trying to create chances is impressive, but I'm not sure if they're going to get the result they want... yet 🤔. The Albanians are putting up a good fight and that set-piece at the end of the half almost scored for them 😲. It's shaping up to be an intense second half ⚽️!

I'm not sure why they're trying so hard to win this one lol 🤔. Like, I get it, the World Cup is next year and all that but can't they just chill? 😒 England's playing like they're trying to prove something and Albania's doing a great job of shutting them down ⚫️. Quansah at right-back is looking solid tho 👍, maybe he should be starting in the Premier League instead of some other player 🤷‍♂️. And Kane's been really off form lately, I mean 76 goals and all that but can't even score a goal against Albania 🙄. England needs to calm down and just play their game, no need to get all anxious about it 😌.

I'm thinkin' england got robbed of that goal 76th for kane lol 😂👏, he was so close! Strakosha was like superhuman today, savin' those shots left and right 🙌💦. England's midfield is on point tho, wharton, bellingham, and rice are killin' it out there 💪🔥. I'm lovin' the energy of the crowd, they're gettin' hyped for a possible win ⚡🎉. Albania's not gonna go down without a fight though, their defense is lookin' solid 🔒💼. This second half is gonna be intense, can't wait to see what happens 🤔😬.
