! I mean, can you even imagine holding something that's been passed down from back in 1896? It's crazy to think that it was actually awarded to the first-place winners of those historic Olympics in Athens. The fact that it's from before Olympic standards were set makes it even more rare and valuable, imo 
. And with global attention on the upcoming Winter Olympics, I'm guessing this sale is gonna be a big deal

. I'm no expert but from what I've seen in documentaries, the early Olympics were super different from what we see today. This medal is like a piece of history that's still alive and kicking
