1 killed, another hurt following shooting outside bar near METRORail station in Midtown, HPD says

A deadly shooting in Midtown Houston has left one man dead and another critically injured. The incident occurred outside a bar near the McGowen METRORail station, where police found two victims with multiple gunshot wounds.

According to authorities, the deceased was identified as a homeless individual, while the victim who suffered critical injuries worked as a security guard at the bar. The Houston Fire Department had already responded to the scene and provided treatment before the victims were pronounced dead.

Police officials are still investigating the cause of the shooting. Lt. Khan stated that any information regarding the incident should be reported to the authorities immediately.

I'm shocked by this senseless act of violence πŸ€•. It's just not right that someone has to lose their life because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. I mean, the fact that the victim who was injured is a security guard is even more disturbing - what kind of world do we live in where our own protectors can't keep us safe? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

And let's not forget about the homeless guy who got killed... it's like, what are we doing to help people who need it most? We should be providing them with resources and support, not turning a blind eye. I'm all for keeping our communities safe, but you can't just shoot your way out of problems πŸ’”.

The police are still investigating, so let's hope they get to the bottom of this and find whoever is responsible. But in the meantime, we need to take a step back and think about how we can create more positive change in this city 🀝.

Man, I'm shocked 😱 by this news... Another senseless tragedy in our city. Back in my day, we thought that places like bars were supposed to be safe havens for people to let their hair down and enjoy themselves without fear of violence. It's just so sad that it seems like we're losing a generation of young folks who have never known what it's like to live life without the threat of gun violence πŸ˜”.

And think about the security guard, working hard to keep people safe, only to get caught up in something like this... it's just heartbreaking. The police are doing their best to figure out what happened, but it's frustrating that we're still dealing with these kinds of incidents and not making as much progress as we should be πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.

It's times like these that make me wonder if our society is just too accepting of gun culture... we need to do better, folks. We need to find a way to make our cities safer for everyone, regardless of age or background πŸ’”

you know i was thinking about trying out this new food truck park downtown and they have these insane burgers like 5 bucks a pop 🀯 but anyway back to houston what's going on with all the gentrification in montrose is it really worth losing that artsy vibe for more expensive coffee shops and stuff?

Ugh man this is insane 🀯 a bar fight turned into a bloodbath in Midtown Houston, like what's going on with people these days?! 😱 one guy dead and another fighting for his life, it's just crazy how quickly things can escalate into tragedy. homeless guys are already struggling enough, no need to make their lives even harder πŸ’” I feel so bad for the security guard who was just trying to do his job, you know? πŸ€• at least the Houston Fire Department responded fast, that's a big plus, but this is just another example of how gun violence is on the rise and we gotta take action to stop it πŸ”«πŸ’ͺ

Man, this is so sad... πŸ˜” Just hearing about a deadly shooting in Midtown Houston makes me wanna call for more support for those affected by mental health issues or just having a rough life on the streets πŸ€•. I mean, we all know there are some bars that offer free drinks to people who need 'em, but is it enough? Shouldn't there be more community centers and resources available for people struggling with addiction or homelessness? 🀝 It's not fair that someone has to go through something like this πŸ’”. And what about the victims who weren't even doing anything wrong? Security guards work hard to keep us safe, why can't they get some protection too? πŸ’― I'm sure law enforcement is on it, but we gotta do more as a community to help prevent these kinds of incidents 🚫.

πŸš¨πŸ’” This is a super sad situation in Houston, USA. You know how some people struggle with homelessness and don't have the best resources? It's just heartbreaking when something like this happens. The fact that the victim who was homeless ended up being the one who passed away is really tough to hear.

I'm glad the security guard survived though - he must be super shaken by what happened. I can only imagine how traumatic it would be for him to witness something like this and come out on top. It's also a reminder of how fragile life can be, you know?

As for the police investigation, it's clear that they're taking this seriously and trying to figure out what led up to the shooting. It's always good when authorities are quick to respond and gather evidence. Fingers crossed that we'll get some answers soon and maybe learn something new about how we can better support people who are struggling in our communities πŸ’‘

Just heard about this crazy thing that went down in Midtown Houston 🀯🚨. Like, you can't even go out for a drink without worrying about getting shot, right? 😱 It's just not fair to these innocent people who were just trying to live their lives. I mean, the homeless guy didn't deserve to die like that πŸ’”. And poor security guard, he must be traumatized after what happened to him πŸ€•.

I'm all for keeping our communities safe and protecting those who are already struggling πŸ’ͺ. We need more programs in place to help people get back on their feet, not just a response when something goes wrong 🌟. Can't we find a way to prevent this kind of tragedy from happening again? πŸ€” Let's raise awareness about mental health, poverty, and violence prevention! #JusticeForVictims #SafeCommunitiesMatter #PreventionOverReaction

πŸ€• just another day in houston, man... can't believe it's happening again. a life lost over some stupid beef outside a bar. what even is the point? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ we gotta keep talking about this stuff till we get somewhere, but honestly, it feels like we're stuck in a never-ending loop of violence & tragedy. security guards doin their thing, tryna protect ppl, but can't even keep themselves safe. poor dude from houston, he didn't deserve that πŸ’”

πŸ˜” my thoughts are with the families of those two men, they must be going through such a hard time πŸ€•. It's just heartbreaking when things like this happen in our own city... I mean, you'd think that places like bars would be safe, especially for people who work there. But it seems like even the safest places can turn into horror scenes like this πŸ’”. Can't believe another life was lost and someone is fighting for their life 🀞. I hope the police are able to catch whoever did this soon so justice can be served πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ. It's just so sad...

ugh, another senseless tragedy πŸ€• this is getting outta control in our country, it's like we're not learnin' from these incidents at all... a homeless dude gets shot and killed outside a bar? it just don't make no sense, man. and now another security guard is fightin' for his life... what's goin' on? 🀯 i feel so bad for the families of those victims, they must be losin' their minds right about now... can we please just get to the bottom of this and find out who did it?! πŸš” let's hope the police catch the person responsible and bring 'em to justice ASAP

πŸ€•πŸ˜± just heard about this crazy shooting in Midtown Houston, man... it's really scary to think that something like this can happen anywhere πŸŒ†. I mean, a homeless guy and a security guard - both victims with multiple gunshot wounds? It's like, what even is the point of all this violence? πŸ˜” And now they're investigating the cause, but we'll probably never know for sure πŸ’”. The thing is, as a regular joe, it's hard not to think about your own life when you hear stuff like this on the news πŸ“°. I mean, what if it was someone close to me or my family? That's just a scary thought 😟. But anyway, I guess that's why we have authorities and police who are trying to figure out what happened - so we can learn from it and stay safe πŸ’―.

Another mass shooting in the States... πŸ€• it's just getting too much, you know? I mean, two people dead, one critically injured... what's going on with all these guns and no common sense? 🚫 And a bar, of all places! It's like they're just asking to get shot. I'm not trying to be all negative, but it's just so senseless.

I do feel bad for the homeless guy, though. That's some tough luck right there. And poor security guard... hope he recovers. 🀞 As for the shooter, if anyone has any info, they should totally come forward. Maybe we can prevent another incident like this from happening? πŸ€”

Wow, this is so sad... 1 person's life cut short, another in critical condition. It's like, what's going on with all these shootings lately? πŸ€• How can a peaceful night out turn into something so violent?

I feel bad for that security guard, he must've been just doing his job and then BAM! Someone comes at him with a gun. And the homeless guy, poor dude... no one deserves to die like that. πŸ˜” It's crazy how quickly things can go from calm to chaos.

The METRORail station is supposed to be safe, you know? How does something like this happen? I hope they catch the person who did it and bring 'em to justice. But for now, my heart goes out to the victims' families πŸ€—.

πŸ€• this is so messed up, one man's life lost in an instant πŸŒͺ️ and another left fighting for his life πŸ˜“. I'm thinking about all those homeless folks out there who struggle with stuff and get taken advantage of when things go wrong like this. It's a tragedy that someone as innocent as the security guard could be caught in the middle of it all πŸ’”. And police are still trying to figure out what happened 🀯, it's like they're stuck on repeat πŸ’. Can't believe they don't have any surveillance footage to help them solve the case πŸ“ΉπŸ˜’. It's so frustrating when these things happen and there's nothing that can be done to prevent them πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ.
