I'm literally so worried about our planet rn I mean, can you believe 2 billion ppl are living near these fossil fuel sites?! It's crazy to think that most ppl surveyed think leaders should do more about climate change... like, what's taking them so long?! We need those world leaders to step up and prioritize our future instead of just talking about it . And I don't get why we can't just switch to renewable energy already it's not that hard!
I mean, I get it, billions of people are at risk due to all this fossil fuel expansion... but can we really just stop everything right now? The report does highlight some serious health problems and human rights abuses, but what's the alternative? Renewable energy is still super expensive and not as efficient as traditional sources. Plus, transitioning to a low-carbon economy would require a massive overhaul of our infrastructure... it's a lot to tackle all at once . Don't get me wrong, I want our leaders to take action on climate change too, but let's be realistic about the pace of change we can expect . Can we really afford to just phase out fossil fuels overnight?
ummm so like what can we do?? the numbers are just crazy 2 billion people living near fossil fuel sites that's like half the world and the health problems are real too i mean cancer and asthma and stuff it's not good at all
and it's not just the environment that's suffering indigenous communities are being displaced and killed which is totally unacceptable
i dont know what to do but we need to do something and we need to do it now like 80% of people think their leaders should take stronger action so like what's holding them back??
and i feel like the fossil fuel companies are getting away with stuff too they're making billions while people are dying or suffering it just doesn't seem fair to me
omg this is getting serious!!! how can we just keep ignoring the fact that our addiction to fossil fuels is literally killing ppl? like 2 billion people are already at risk?! it's not even about climate change anymore, it's about basic human rights & safety! we need world leaders to take action NOW and make those corporations accountable for their actions
I'm literally freaking out thinking about all those people living near these toxic sites Like, 2 billion is a huge number! And it's not just the health problems, but also the displacement of Indigenous communities... it's so wrong We need to get our priorities straight and stop worshipping fossil fuels like they're some kind of magical energy source It's time for world leaders to take real action and phase out these industries ASAP I'm not sure if 80% of people surveyed believing their leaders should do more is enough, though... we need to see some actual change
