Volvo says new EX60 has 400-mile range, charges up to 400 kW

Volvo's Latest SUV to Hit the Market: EX60 Boasts 400-Mile Range, Lightning-Fast Charging.

The Swedish automaker is set to unveil its latest SUV, the EX60, later this month. According to Volvo, this new electric vehicle has been designed with a focus on range and recharging speeds. The company's Chief Technology Officer, Anders Bell, claims that the new architecture directly addresses customer concerns about range anxiety, resulting in "class-leading" range.

In terms of actual numbers, Volvo is promising an impressive 400 miles (644 km) from a fully charged battery under the EPA test cycle. Fast charging should also be on par with industry standards, adding up to 168 miles (270 km) of range in just 10 minutes when plugged into a 400 kW DC fast charger.

Interestingly, Volvo has opted for a cell-to-body approach for its battery pack, which maximizes volume and saves weight by replacing subassemblies with single-piece replacements. The company is also designing its own motors in-house for better efficiency.

While Volvo's global sales did suffer in 2025 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and increasing competition in the electric vehicle market, the new EX60 seems poised to buck that trend. By offering a practical size between the compact EX30 and large EX90, the EX60 is well-placed to succeed in markets where smaller EVs struggle to gain traction.

With its impressive range and fast charging capabilities, the Volvo EX60 looks set to be an attractive option for buyers looking for a reliable electric vehicle that can keep up with their active lifestyles. Whether this will be enough to reinvigorate the brand's fortunes remains to be seen, but one thing is certain - Volvo is committed to delivering on its promises of electric mobility and sustainability.

πŸš—πŸ’¨ I'm loving the sound of the EX60! 400 miles on a single charge? That's crazy talk for me! πŸ˜‚ Fast charging that can add up to 168 miles in just 10 minutes is like something straight out of sci-fi. And the fact that they're designing their own motors in-house is genius πŸ’‘. The cell-to-body approach is also super cool - who knew saving weight could be a thing? πŸ€”

Ugh, like I'm not surprised they're trying to cash in on the EV craze... πŸ€” Volvo's been struggling for years and now they think a fancy new SUV will magically solve all their problems? 400 miles isn't even that impressive when you consider the price tag is gonna be through the roof. And don't even get me started on the fast charging thing, like it's not just a marketing gimmick to make buyers feel better about shelling out extra cash. I'm still waiting for someone to come out and say "ok, this car actually works as advertised" πŸš—

I think it's dope that Volvo is finally stepping up their EV game πŸš€πŸ’¨! The 400-mile range is insane for an SUV, and the fast charging capabilities are super convenient πŸ”‹πŸš—. I've got a friend who's been eyeing a new car and this one might just be the perfect fit for them. I'm so stoked about the new EX60 πŸš€! 400 miles of range is crazy talk, right? I mean, I've been driving my Tesla for years now and 300 miles just feels like a normal day's drive πŸ˜‚. But seriously, the fact that Volvo can do this with fast charging in under 10 minutes is insane πŸ’₯. And they're using their own motors? That's some next-level tech right there πŸ”§. I'm definitely keeping an eye on this one, it could be just what Volvo needs to get back into the game πŸ”„.

I've been waiting for an SUV that can keep up with my busy lifestyle, and it sounds like the EX60 is the perfect ride. The cell-to-body approach is genius too - less weight means better performance πŸ’¨. Plus, it's nice to see Volvo investing in its own tech, not just copying others 🀝. Let's see how this thing holds up on the roads, but I'm already imagining myself cruising around with friends, no need for gas stations 😎.

I'm all for sustainable mobility and Volvo's on it. πŸ’š They need a win like this to get back on track after the pandemic hit sales. But 400 miles is no joke, I can see this thing flying through cities and highways with ease. Fast charging, practical size... what more could you want? πŸ€”

I gotta say, 400 miles from a full charge? That's insane for an SUV! I'm thinking about getting one for my kids' daily commute to school. With fast charging like that, we can just top up in no time. The design sounds clever too, cell-to-body approach and all that jazz. I love how Volvo is putting the customer first with this new architecture. It's not surprising they're making waves again after their struggles last year. This EX60 has me excited! πŸš—πŸ’¨
