The incident occurred on June 21 at approximately 11:51 a.m. in the 10500 block of State Highway 6 South, where Ferrer's white Toyota Camry veered off the roadway and crashed into a ditch. Upon investigation, deputies discovered Ferrer, 43, with a gunshot wound to the head.
According to law enforcement, surveillance footage provided the crucial evidence needed to identify a gray Nissan Sentra with dark-tinted windows as a vehicle of interest in connection to the case.
