Super greens powder supplements sold at Sam's Club linked to salmonella outbreak

At least 11 people have fallen ill, with three hospitalized cases confirmed, due to a salmonella outbreak linked to powdered supplements sold at Sam's Club stores across the US and online. Member's Mark Super Greens Powder Supplements, which contain moringa leaf powder imported from India, have been removed from shelves due to contamination concerns.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has identified seven states where infections occurred: Florida, Kansas, Michigan, North Carolina, New York, South Carolina, and Virginia. Illnesses were reported between May and September.

An investigation by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found that a single lot of organic moringa leaf powder from Vallon Farm Direct in Jodhpur, India, was the source of the contaminated product. The FDA collected and tested samples of the affected product from the homes of people who fell ill, including those in Virginia and Michigan.

Salmonella poisoning can cause severe symptoms such as diarrhea, fever, vomiting, dehydration, and stomach cramps. Most people recover within a week, but infections can be life-threatening for young children, older adults, and individuals with weakened immune systems, which may require hospitalization.

Moringa is a plant native to India and other countries prized for its essential nutrients, including protein, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. However, the current outbreak highlights the importance of proper quality control measures when importing food products from abroad.

Consumers who purchased Member's Mark Super Greens Powder Supplements are advised to discard or return them to the store for a refund.

Ugh, can you believe this ๐Ÿคฏ? First it's vaping, then COVID, now salmonella poisoning... people gotta be more careful what they put in their bodies! I remember when we used to get sick from food and just had to deal with it, but now there are so many recalls and warnings, it's crazy. And moringa, which is supposed to be good for you? Not if it's contaminated, apparently ๐Ÿ˜ท. The FDA needs to step up their game and make sure these suppliers are doing more quality control checks. I mean, come on, 11 people sick from some powder? That's just not right ๐Ÿค•. And what really gets me is the folks who got sick, especially those with weakened immune systems... my heart goes out to them ๐Ÿ’”. Back in my day... we didn't have all these rules and regulations, but I guess that's progress or something ๐Ÿ˜.

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ˜ฌ this salmonella outbreak is crazy! like, how do powdered supplements go bad and end up killing ppl? ๐Ÿคฏ it's all about quality control, fam... I mean, moringa is great and all, but if it ain't done right, it can be super toxic. ๐Ÿ‘Ž the FDA should've caught this earlier and taken action sooner... now we got innocent people sick ๐Ÿ˜ท gotta be more careful with imported goods, ya feel me? ๐Ÿค

omg u guys ๐Ÿคข just found out that at least 11 ppl in the US got sick from salmonella due to powdered supplements sold at Sam's Club ๐Ÿšฎ and they're already hospitalized ๐Ÿฅ 7 states are affected, including NY where i'm from ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ. moringa leaf powder is being linked to the outbreak and it came from India ๐ŸŒŽ. CDC says most ppl recover in a week but its super scary for kids, elderly & ppl with weak immune systems ๐Ÿ’‰. dont even get me started on how bad this outbreak could've been if ppl didn't report getting sick ๐Ÿคฏ. now ppl have to discard their supplements and get refunds ๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿ‘Ž. proper quality control is key, lol who knew? ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

OMG YOU GUYS THIS SOUNDS LIKE A REAL NIGHTMARE ๐Ÿคฏ! I mean, 11 people getting sick and 3 hospitalized is crazy! And it's all because of these powdered supplements sold at Sam's Club?! It just goes to show that even though we're buying products online or in stores, we still gotta be super careful about what we bring into our homes. I mean, moringa is a great plant and all, but clearly not when its quality control is sketchy ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ! What's even crazier is that it was just one lot of powder from India that caused the problem... like, how do you mess up something as simple as that?! Anyway, I hope everyone who got sick gets better soon and that Sam's Club steps up their game to make sure this never happens again ๐Ÿ’ช

Ugh ๐Ÿคข I'm literally shuddering just thinking about those people getting sick from that contaminated powder... like, how can this happen? The thought of someone eating moringa thinking it's safe is just wild ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ‘€ And it's not even like it's a rare thing โ€“ salmonella outbreaks are super common. But what really gets me is that it's not just the product itself, it's the whole supply chain... who knew that such a simple powder could cause so much trouble? ๐Ÿ’” It's a good reminder to us all to be more mindful of where our food comes from and how it ends up on our shelves ๐Ÿ›๏ธ. I mean, I love moringa as much as the next person, but come on! Let's get that quality control thing down pat already! ๐Ÿ‘

Ugh I'm so worried about this salmonella outbreak ๐Ÿคข! I was planning on buying some more of those Member's Mark supplements, but now I don't know if they're safe. It's crazy how one lot of contaminated moringa leaf powder could cause such problems. I mean, we're basically talking about a product that's supposed to be super healthy... ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

And it's just the US, not even international shipping? Like, what else is being imported that might be contaminated? ๐Ÿšจ This just makes me want to start growing my own food and supplements from scratch. Not sure if that's practical though... ๐Ÿ˜‚

i'm so worried about ppl getting sick from these powdered supplements ๐Ÿค•. it's like, we think we're buying healthy stuff online but really it can be contaminated and hurt us. moringa is cool and all, but clearly not if they didn't test the quality control properly. i mean, who imports powder from india without checking first? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ it just seems so careless to me. anyway, gotta make sure ppl in those affected states are taking care of themselves. rest well, everyone ๐Ÿ’ค

Ugh my heart is still sinking over this salmonella outbreak ๐Ÿค•. 11 people got sick just because some dodgy supplement manufacturer in India didn't do their job properly. I mean, come on! You're selling supplements that are supposed to be good for you and your product is contaminated with bacteria? It's just not right.

And the fact that it was this one specific lot of moringa powder from Vallon Farm Direct that did it makes me so frustrated ๐Ÿคฏ. Like, couldn't they have at least tested it properly before shipping it out to all these stores? I get that accidents happen and mistakes are made, but this is just reckless.

And the worst part is, people got seriously sick because of it ๐Ÿ’”. Diarrhea, fever, vomiting... yeah, no thanks. Just the thought of it is making me queasy. And it's not like most people can recover from it within a week - I mean, what about all those young kids and older adults who are more vulnerable? They're the ones who really need to be protected.

I'm just so fed up with this whole thing ๐Ÿ™„. The FDA should be doing better than just investigating after the fact. What's the point of even having quality control measures if they're not going to enforce them properly? And what about all those people who got sick? They deserve justice, not just some half-hearted refund and a "take back your money" from Sam's Club.

Ugh, another one ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ... I mean, come on! Can't we have some peace and quiet with our supplements? Now we gotta deal with this salmonella outbreak because of a faulty import from India? It's just common sense, you know? We need stricter quality control measures in place when importing food products. And what's with these big-box stores like Sam's Club selling out-of-date or contaminated products online? ๐Ÿค I mean, it's not like they're doing anything right now. And moringa, which is supposed to be a healthy superfood, turns out it was the culprit behind this whole mess... just great ๐Ÿ’”

Ugh ๐Ÿคข just heard about this salmonella outbreak and I'm freaking out! Like, how could someone get sick from a supplement? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ especially when it was sold at Sam's Club and online ๐Ÿ›๏ธ. The FDA is on top of it now, but what about those who got seriously ill? ๐Ÿ’” Three hospitalized cases? That's some scary stuff ๐Ÿšจ. As a health nut, I'm all about the importance of quality control when importing food products from abroad ๐ŸŒŽ. Moringa is supposed to be super good for you and all that jazz, but I guess you have to get it from a legit source ๐Ÿ’ฏ. Anyone know where they can get a refund or something? ๐Ÿค‘

Ugh, great job by Sam's Club on making our lives interesting ๐Ÿ™„. I mean, who doesn't love the idea of possibly getting food poisoning from their "health supplement" powder? ๐Ÿ˜’ Morngina leaf powder, apparently not as magical as everyone thought it was ๐Ÿง™โ€โ™‚๏ธ. Glad they removed it from shelves, but now what about all those people who already had it and are kinda stuck with a bad stomach? ๐Ÿค• Not to mention the fact that we're still gonna have to deal with some dude in the FDA testing his poop samples... ๐Ÿ’ฉ anyway, at least it's a good excuse to not work out for a week ๐Ÿ˜ด.

ugh ๐Ÿคข just heard about this salmonella scare... so many people sickened by some cheap powder from Sam's Club ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ moringa is supposed to be super good for you, but I guess not when it's contaminated ๐Ÿ˜’ hope everyone who got poisoned gets better soon ๐Ÿ’ช gotta give props to the FDA for investigating and getting rid of the tainted product, that's good to know ๐Ÿ‘

Ugh, this is so frustrating ๐Ÿค•! I just got that same supplement from Sam's Club and was planning on taking it every day... Now I'm worried I might be sick too ๐Ÿคข. But at the same time, I feel like the FDA and CDC should've caught this earlier? Like, how does a single lot of moringa leaf powder end up in so many people's homes? It just doesn't add up ๐Ÿค”.

I get why Sam's Club removed the product from shelves, but it feels like we're being punished for companies like Vallon Farm Direct not having better quality control measures in place. I mean, moringa is supposed to be this super healthy stuff, so it's crazy that it ended up causing all these problems ๐Ÿคฏ.

I'm just glad no one died from this, but still... It's a total bummer for anyone who bought the product and might end up getting sick ๐Ÿ˜•. Anyone else have any of those supplements? Should we be more vigilant about checking expiration dates or something? ๐Ÿค”

salmonella outbrake in US ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿ˜ท just got reported at Sam's Club stores and people r getting seriously sick...11 cases so far, 3 hospitalized...think about all those moringa supplements sold online meanwhile CDC says only one lot of moringa powder from India was the problem...guess quality control fails are super bad news ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Ugh, this is so frustrating ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ! I mean, can't we just get our supplements without getting sick? ๐Ÿ™„ The fact that moringa, which is basically a superfood from India, ended up in a salmonella outbreak is just crazy. And the FDA found out it was all because of one single lot of organic moringa powder... like, what are the chances?! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

I'm glad they removed the product from shelves and told people to get rid of or return them for a refund. It's better safe than sorry at this point. I just wish they had caught this sooner so no one got sick in the first place. ๐Ÿค” And can we talk about how important quality control is when it comes to importing food products from abroad? Like, come on! We need to be more vigilant about this stuff. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

I'm worried about these people getting sick ๐Ÿค• from that powdered supplement. I remember buying some at my local Sam's Club, but now I'm glad I didn't end up using it... still have the container in my pantry just in case ๐Ÿ˜…. It's crazy how one lot of moringa leaf powder can cause such a big problem. We need to make sure that these imported products are thoroughly tested before they hit our shelves ๐Ÿ‘. I hope no one has to spend time in hospital due to this ๐Ÿ™. Better safe than sorry, right? ๐Ÿค—

I'm shocked this happened in the first place! All those people getting sick over something that sounds super healthy ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, moringa is supposed to be good for you, right? But apparently, someone's quality control was lacking and it ended up being super toxic. This whole thing just makes me want to check what else might have been compromised in the import process... what about other supplements from India or other countries? We need some better checks in place, ASAP ๐Ÿ’ฏ.

omg I'm so glad they're taking this seriously, like 11 people got sick and it's super scary!!! ๐Ÿคข i feel bad for those affected by the moringa powder outbreak... I've been seeing some moringa stuff online and I was thinking of trying it out, but now I'll think twice ๐Ÿ˜…. I mean, quality control is everything when it comes to food imports, right? We can't have this kind of thing happening again... ๐Ÿค let's hope they catch the source of the contamination and fix it ASAP ๐Ÿ’ช

Ugh, i'm so worried about those people getting sick from salmonella ๐Ÿคข. I mean, moringa is supposed to be super healthy and all that, but clearly not if it's been contaminated like this ๐Ÿ’”. I feel bad for those three people who got hospitalized ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. It's crazy how some products can get messed up during importation... like, I get it, mistakes happen, but come on ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ. Anyway, gotta be more careful when buying supplements online, right? ๐Ÿ’ฏ
