Scottish Cup: Rangers v Celtic - Martin O'Neill on ticket allocation

Celtic Hopes for Full Ticket Allocation Against Rangers in Scottish Cup Quarter-Final

Interim manager Martin O'Neill has expressed hope that Celtic will be granted the full ticket allocation available to them for their upcoming Scottish Cup quarter-final against Rangers at Ibrox. The teams have a long-standing rivalry, with Celtic looking to cause an upset at the home of their bitter rivals.

Under the rules of the competition, both clubs and the police are required to agree on a designated away end for the match. Traditionally, around 7,500 Celtic fans filled the Broomloan Stand during Old Firm derbies at Ibrox before their allocation was reduced in 2018. Since then, away allocations have fluctuated wildly between about 750 and zero.

O'Neill says it would be "fantastic" to see a large Celtic contingent return to Govan for the match. The interim manager believes that a full ticket allocation would make a significant difference to the atmosphere at the stadium. Historically, Celtic's allocation has been affected by Rangers in the past, with the Scottish Cup fixture losing some of its traditional intensity.

O'Neill also mentioned the possibility of signing former Liverpool and Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who could make his debut against Livingston on Wednesday. Defender Kieran Tierney is also expected to return from injury despite a suspected broken nose.

The match will take place next month, with Celtic looking to cause an upset against their Old Firm rivals.

Ugh man, can u believe the rules in Scottish football are so unfair?! 🤯 They literally have these crazy fluctuations between 750 and zero tickets for away fans! Its like they dont even care about Celtic supporters who wanna make some noise at Ibrox. Martin O'Neill is right tho, a full ticket allocation would make all the difference to the atmosphere. It feels like Rangers always get preferential treatment when it comes to crowd control...like they have this upper hand over Celtic just because of their history and following. But seriously, its gonna be a tough one for Celtic next month! 👊

I'm so done with these ticket allocation issues in Scottish football 🙄. Like, can't they just sort it out already? It's not like one team is gonna ruin the game for everyone else. I mean, Celtic fans have been going to Ibrox for ages and it'd be awesome to see a full allocation back at them. The atmosphere would totally change with that many supporters in attendance 🎉. And can we talk about how Rangers always seem to mess up the away allocations? It's like they're trying to stifle the passion of Celtic fans or something 😒.

I'm not sure why the police need to get involved in this 😒. It seems like both teams are trying to figure out what's fair for each other. If it's just about Celtic wanting more fans at the game, can't they just agree on a number? I mean, I've been to a lot of footy matches and having 7-8k fans from one team is already pretty intense... 🏆

I'm so down for Celtic to get the full ticket allocation, it'd be EPIC 🤩! You can't underestimate the energy of the Hoops fans at Ibrox, it's a whole different game when they're all in one place. Martin O'Neill is right, it'd make a huge difference to the atmosphere, and who knows maybe even give Rangers a run for their money? 😏 The fact that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain might be joining up with them too is just gravy on top – can you imagine him taking on Rangers in his debut match? Fingers crossed Celtic take home the win! 🎉

Imagine the Old Firm derby at Ibrox! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🔴⚽️ A full ticket allocation for Celtic would be a dream come true! 😍 They'd get to pack Govan and make it a really intense match. I think Celtic have the skills to pull off an upset, especially with O'Neill at the helm. 🤝

Here's a quick mind map of the situation:
+ Celtic
|
|- Full ticket allocation (wishful thinking)
|- Away allocation varies wildly (750-0)
|
|- Martin O'Neill wants large fan presence
|
|- Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain possible signing?
🤔

OMG 🤯 I think it's about time the Rangers got served 😏! Celtic has been dominating the league for ages and it's high time they caused some chaos at Ibrox. I mean, 7,500 fans can't be wrong, right? 🤔 The atmosphere would be electric if all those Celts made it to the match. And who knows, maybe Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will bring that extra magic to the pitch 🔮. On a more serious note tho, this could be Celtic's chance to show everyone what they're made of 👊!
