‘Scary, cold, hungry and lonely’: Volunteer soldier shares experience on front line | CNN

A Soldier's Desperate Struggle in War-Torn Ukraine

Akula, a young volunteer soldier from the UK, recounts the harrowing realities he faced during Russia's invasion of Ukraine, leaving him with physical and emotional scars that continue to haunt him.

As he stood on the front lines, Akula was met with an unforgiving landscape of snow, ice, and desperation. The biting cold seeped into his bones, while hunger gnawed at his stomach. But it was the crushing loneliness that proved most crippling – a feeling that would stay with him long after the war ended.

Akula's experiences in Ukraine were marked by an unrelenting sense of fear, as the sounds of gunfire and explosions pierced the air. He witnessed comrades fall, their lives cut short in an instant. The trauma of these events is still taking its toll on his mental health, leaving him struggling to shake off the nightmares that plague his nights.

Akula's story serves as a poignant reminder of the human cost of war. As the conflict rages on, many like him are left to pick up the pieces and navigate the treacherous landscape of their own minds. His tale is one of bravery, sacrifice, and the resilience of the human spirit – but also one of the devastating consequences of war on those who fight it.

I'm really worried about young soldiers like Akula 🤕. I can only imagine how scared and alone he must've felt in that situation 😔. It's crazy to think they're fighting for their country, but still dealing with stuff like loneliness and nightmares afterwards 💔. We should be doing more to support them after the war is over 🤝.

This young soldier dude is living his best nightmare, literally 😂. I mean, can you imagine being in a war zone with no hot chocolate in sight? That's like my worst nightmare come true! But seriously, poor guy's been through some stuff – the cold, hunger, fear... it's a wonder he's still standing (or should I say, still walking? 😂).

And honestly, who needs a 5-star therapy session when you've got PTSD and nightmares, right? 🤣 Just kidding, Akula dude deserves all the therapy sessions in the world! His story is like a big ol' hug for your feelings – it's a reminder that we're not alone in our struggles and that there are people out there who care. 💕

The mental toll of war is just as brutal as any physical injury 🤕. It's not just about the trauma you witness, it's about what happens in your head afterwards 💀. These soldiers come back with emotional scars that can't be seen but are no less devastating 😔. We need to support them more than ever ❤️

ugh I'm literally shaking just thinking about this poor guy Akula what even is the point of wars where do we lose ourselves in these situations?! 🤯💔 he's struggling to cope with his nightmares and PTSD and I can only imagine how hard that must be for him, not to mention all the other humans caught in the crossfire 🌪️😩 and can we talk about the lack of mental health support for soldiers? it's like they just get thrown into this situation and expected to handle it on their own 💔💪 meanwhile he's still standing strong despite everything and I'm literally in awe of his bravery but at the same time I'm so angry that we're even having to deal with this kind of thing 🤬😡

🤕 It's just heartbreaking reading about Akula's experience in Ukraine... I can only imagine how tough it must be for him to relive that trauma every night 😩. As a volunteer soldier, he put his life on the line to help others, and now he's struggling with PTSD 🌫️. We need to make sure we're supporting our veterans and giving them the resources they need to heal 💪. It's not just about the physical scars; it's also about the emotional toll of war 🔥.
