As we wrap up another year of gaming, it's clear that 2025 was marked by a mix of excitement, controversy, and self-awareness. From the best games of the year to the most anticipated titles of 2026, our coverage has been all about exploring the world of gaming in all its complexity.

One story that dominated the headlines was Roblox, the popular online platform that's home to millions of users, mostly children. But behind the game's colorful world and endless possibilities lies a darker reality. A recent investigation found that it's extremely easy for kids to stumble into inappropriate situations and chats on the platform, raising concerns about child safety and online protection. The Guardian's coverage of this issue has sparked a necessary conversation about the need for better parental controls and stricter moderation.

On the other hand, there are games that bring us joy and excitement, like Baby Steps, the bizarre game that became an unlikely phenomenon among gamers. Developer IO Interactive's latest installment in the Hitman series, 007 First Light, is set to release next year, and fans are eagerly anticipating its arrival. Meanwhile, some of our readers are taking a trip down memory lane with classic games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

One thing's certain: 2025 was a year of growth, controversy, and self-awareness – and we can't wait to see what 2026 brings.

idk how i feel about all these concerns about roblox its like the kids are just trying to have fun and be silly online 😂 but at the same time yeah parental controls are super important so maybe they should do somethin more about it 🤔

I'm getting a bit worried about Roblox 🤔. I mean, it's awesome that there are so many kids having fun online, but the lack of proper moderation is just not cool. It's like they're saying "good luck" to parents who want to keep their little ones safe from all the sketchy stuff out there 🙅‍♂️. We need better parental controls and stricter moderation ASAP, or we risk having a whole generation of kids exposed to some pretty weird stuff 👀.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around Roblox 🤯. I mean, it's awesome that there are so many kids having fun on the platform, but at the same time, it's concerning that they can stumble into some pretty mature stuff. Like, what even is the deal with all the NSFW chats? It's like, you'd think they'd have better moderation in place 🤷‍♂️.

On a lighter note, 007 First Light does sound like it'll be a blast. I'm loving the Hitman series and can't wait to see what IO Interactive has in store for us next year 💥.

But, gotta say, the gaming industry's growing pains are real 🤔. The whole ICE recruitment thing is just wild... and not in a good way 😕. We need to find better ways to use gaming as a tool for good, not just perpetuating negativity and division.

What's next year gonna bring? 🎉 I'm curious to see how the industry evolves and which games will live up to the hype 🤔.

I'm so worried about Roblox 🤕... I mean, how can parents even keep up with their kids' online activity? It's like they're playing a whole different game behind the scenes 😳. And what's with all these new games coming out that are just copying old ideas? Baby Steps is cool and all, but it's not exactly breaking any new ground 🤷‍♂️. Can't we just have one game that's actually innovative for once? 🙄

I'm so glad there's someone like me who is actually paying attention to this gaming thing 🤔... i mean, it's crazy how some games can be super fun but also kinda dark at the same time? like, on one hand Roblox is all about creativity and imagination for kids, but on the other hand, they're basically just sitting ducks for predators who are trying to ruin their experience 🚨. I feel so bad for the little ones out there... anyway, i'm gonna be super hyped for 007 First Light, that game looks like so much fun! 😎

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole Roblox thing 🤯 it's crazy how easily kids can stumble into stuff they shouldn't be seeing online. I mean, it makes sense that some parents aren't keeping a close enough eye on their little ones' online activities...it's like we're expecting them to magically know what's safe and what's not? 🤔 And then there are games like Baby Steps, which is just wild...who would've thought a game about adulting would be so popular among gamers? 😂 Anyway, I'm low-key excited for 007 First Light - the Hitman series is always a blast to play.

I don’t usually comment but I think it’s kinda crazy how some platforms like Roblox can be so open and free yet still have these super serious issues like kids accessing inappropriate content 🤯. Like what even is the deal? Can’t we just find a way to balance freedom with safety without being all heavy-handed?

🤔 think its really sad that kids can get into all this stuff on Roblox without proper protection 🚫. its a reminder that even in a digital world, were still responsible for keeping our kiddos safe. gotta have some balance between freedom & supervision 📈. and yeah, 007 First Light sounds like gonna be a wild ride 😏!

🤩 OMG I'm so glad they're talking about this Roblox thingy, it's been a hot topic among parents for ages! 🙅‍♀️ My little sis is super into that game and her friends online and it's honestly scary how easy they can get to some stuff they shouldn't be seeing... 🤯 I don't know what the devs are gonna do, but better parental controls would def be a good start, you feel? 👍

Ugh, I'm so done with Roblox 🤦‍♂️. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's still super popular and all that, but come on, child safety is like, super important, right? I remember playing games like this when I was a kid and it was always about exploring the world and having fun, not getting exposed to weird stuff online 😳. And don't even get me started on parental controls - they need to step up their game (no pun intended) 💻. On the flip side, though, Baby Steps is still pretty entertaining 🤪. I mean, who wouldn't want to play a game where you're like a human experiment or something? It's just wild how games can be both super fun and kinda messed up at the same time 😊.

ugh dont even get me started on roblox its like these devs have no idea whats going on 🙄 kids shouldnt be messing around with random strangers online its like a breeding ground for predators and it just gets worse every year. they need to step up their parental controls like now i cant believe the devs are just sitting back and letting this happen its so not cool

Ugh, Roblox is a mess 🤯! I mean, it's crazy that kids can stumble into those gross chats. My little cousin plays it all the time and I'm always on edge wondering what kind of stuff they'll see. Anyway, I'm super hyped for Hitman 007 First Light tho 💥🕵️‍♂️. IO Interactive never disappoints! And can we talk about how Guitar Hero and Rock Band are still totally relevant? 🎸🤘 Those games hold up so well even after all these years. As for my gaming wish list, I'm def checking out that new Baby Steps game... what's the deal with it tho? 🤔

I feel bad for those kids playing Roblox 🤕... it's crazy how easy they can get into sketchy situations on that platform. We need better parental controls ASAP 💻, like, seriously, who's in charge of keeping these kids safe online?!? 🙄 And what's up with some games being so welcoming to minors? Like, shouldn't we be teaching them about online safety instead of letting them self-direct? 🤷‍♀️

I mean, what a year for gaming, right? 🤷‍♂️ It's like they say, "the more things change, the more they stay the same"... or in this case, the more kids get into awkward online conversations on Roblox 😳. But hey, at least it's not all doom and gloom - Baby Steps is still a weird and wonderful game 🤪. And can we talk about how some games are just begging to be dusted off from the PS2/3 era? SingStar mics, anyone? 🎸👀
