Playoffs? Bears? Coach Ben Johnson keeps calm but notes, 'We know where we are in the NFC right now'

Bears Keep Playoff Hopes Alive, But Remains a Long Shot.

The Chicago Bears are on the cusp of securing a spot in the playoffs with their 6-3 record, but they still have a long way to go before they can officially claim a postseason berth. Sitting in third place in the NFC North, behind only the 7-2 Detroit Lions and 8-1 Green Bay Packers, Chicago is holding onto seventh seed in the conference.

Coach Ben Johnson acknowledged the urgency of their situation while highlighting their growth as a team. "We understand the urgency that's at hand," he said after Monday's 24-20 win over the Giants. "We know where we are in the NFC right now, but the biggest thing and the message to the team is that we're a 6-3 team that's looking to get to 7-3."

Johnson also praised his right tackle Darnell Wright for his outstanding performance against the Giants. The Bears' quarterback was tested by Brian Burns on several occasions, but Wright's strong play prevented any major damage.

The loss of Jaxson Dart, a key player from the opposing team, is attributed to a mix of both bad calls and a less effective offense in terms of handling running plays. Johnson said that "he hurt us more on the designed runs as opposed to necessarily in the passing game."

Additionally, he critiqued his own play-calling during the loss against the Giants. Specifically, Johnson questioned why a punt was made at fourth-and-eight with 10:45 remaining in the game.

"We're all in this together," he said. "I want those guys to understand that I take a lot of ownership in what we put on tape as do they. It's really important they all understand we're all in the same boat."

With their season dwindling, Chicago will need to continue demonstrating improvement and cohesion if they are going to secure an elusive playoff spot.

man, its not looking good for the bears ๐Ÿค• they still got a long way 2 go b4 they can claim that 7th seed in the conf... coach johnson says they r a 6-3 team tryin 2 get 2 7-3 but theres a lot of ground 2 cover ๐Ÿ’ช meanwhile, its all about cohesion 4 them at this point... dont wanna be that team whos 1 game away frm playoffs only 2 fall apart ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ช I think its crazy how far behind 3rd place is from 1st ๐Ÿคฏ... like 4 games ๐Ÿ“† behind those Lions and Packers. Its gonna be tough for the Bears to make a comeback ๐Ÿ’ฅ, but they still got this ๐Ÿ’ช... if they can just stay healthy ๐Ÿฅ and keep winning 3-4 more games ๐ŸŽ‰ that's all they need ๐Ÿคž. The O-line play from Wright was huge btw ๐Ÿ‘

I feel u ๐Ÿ˜” they're doing so well, but it's getting intense for them. They gotta keep pushing thru ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ’ช coach ben johnson is on the right track, giving credit to his team & acknowledging areas for improvement ๐Ÿ’ก that punt call tho ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ 4th and 8 at 10:45 mins... what was he thinking ๐Ÿ˜‚ anyways, i got faith in them ๐Ÿ‘ they can do this!

๐Ÿค” I'm not convinced about this 6-3 record of theirs... How did they even manage that against the Giants? That's some crazy turning point from a bad game ๐Ÿ“ˆ. And now they're expecting to get to 7-3? Is that really realistic? ๐Ÿ˜ Coach Ben Johnson is saying all the right things, but what about the stats? You can't just will your way into the playoffs with poor play-calling... like that infamous punt at fourth-and-eight ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Need some numbers to back this up before I start believing in their playoff hopes ๐Ÿ˜Š

I'm loving this Bears squad, but man...they gotta keep it up! ๐Ÿคฏ Sitting at 6-3 is def a good look, but the competition in their division is crazy tight ๐Ÿ”ช I mean, Detroit's on fire and Green Bay's like the team to beat right now โšก๏ธ

What's got me intrigued tho is Coach Ben Johnson's vibe - he's all about keeping it real with his team ๐Ÿค He's making them feel responsible for the wins and losses, which I think will pay off in the long run. And props to Darnell Wright for stepping up at right tackle ๐Ÿ™Œ

The loss to the Giants stings tho, especially since Jaxson Dart got hurt ๐Ÿ’” But bad calls and a less effective offense can't be ignored ๐Ÿ˜ Coach Johnson's play-calling was questionable, too - that 4th-and-8 punt decision still has me shaking my head ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

All in all, Chicago's gotta keep grinding if they wanna make the playoffs ๐Ÿ”ฅ They're running out of time, but with this team, I wouldn't count 'em out just yet ๐Ÿ˜Ž

ugh i dont get why its so hard for the bears to win lol ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ like they got a 6-3 record which is better than most teams out there right? but they still gotta beat some good teams and stuff ๐Ÿ˜’ anyway what do you think about coach ben johnson hes always saying we take ownership together ๐Ÿ™Œ but sometimes i feel like he should give the players more freedom to make their own plays on the field ๐Ÿค”

idk why people get so hyped about teams making it to the playoffs ๐Ÿค”... seems like just another year of being close but not quite there. the bears have a decent record but green bay is lighting it up this season ๐Ÿˆ... think they got this one in the bag already? coach johnson's all talk, sounds like he's trying too hard to rally the team ๐Ÿ™„. and what's with the play-calling? punting on 4th and 8? that's just crazy talk ๐Ÿ˜‚... i mean, i guess you gotta take ownership of those decisions, but it feels like they're just throwing it all out there at this point. hope chicago can pull it together or else it'll be a long offseason for their fans ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿค” I mean, it's crazy how far behind the Bears are, but at least they're still in the running, right? ๐Ÿˆ Their team growth is definitely a positive sign, but they gotta keep pushing themselves to get that 7-3 record. The Darnell Wright performance was insane tho! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ Like, who knew he had it in them like that? ๐Ÿ˜… And yeah, the loss of Jaxson Dart did hurt 'em, but they gotta learn from those mistakes and move on. Coach Johnson's all about taking ownership and getting everyone on the same page, which is awesome ๐Ÿ™Œ. Can't say I'm holding my breath for their playoff hopes, but it'll be cool to watch them fight till the end ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿˆ

im so hyped for the bears but gotta say coach johnson is being super real about their situation ๐Ÿคฏ he's not sugarcoating anything and that's something we can all respect. i think its awesome how he's praising darnell wright for his sick performance against the giants, btw ๐Ÿ˜Ž but seriously though, they need to step up their game if they wanna make it into the playoffs. the loss of jaxson dart was a major blow and now they gotta figure out how to handle running plays on offense ๐Ÿค”. and yeah, coach johnson taking ownership for his own mistakes is pretty cool too... i mean who doesn't love a good owner-coach synergy? ๐Ÿ’ฏ

I'm not sure... I mean, they've got a solid record, 6-3, but it's not like they're unstoppable or anything ๐Ÿค”. They still have a lot of work to do to catch up with those Lions and Packers. Coach Johnson is right though, they gotta step up their game if they wanna make the playoffs ๐Ÿš€. But, at the same time... I think Jaxson Dart's absence did help them out, kinda ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. The Giants' offense was pretty mediocre anyway. And, come on, a punt at fourth-and-eight? That's just basic math ๐Ÿ“Š... unless Coach Johnson is trying to be all clever and stuff ๐Ÿ˜. Whatever, I guess the Bears are in it for the long haul ๐Ÿ’ช. Or maybe they're just holding onto that seventh seed for dear life ๐Ÿ˜…. Ugh, can't decide! ๐Ÿ˜ณ

they gotta step it up ๐Ÿค”... been in a lot of close games already but still can't seem to seal the deal... 6-3 ain't exactly bragging rights lol ๐Ÿ‘Ž gotta be realistic about their chances but at the same time, they're still fighting for that 7th seed spot... wish 'em luck ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ™Œ I'm lovin' how far the Bears have come this season ๐Ÿ˜Š! They're definitely a long shot for the playoffs right now, but Coach Johnson is keepin' it real about their growth as a team ๐Ÿ’ช. It's awesome that they're makin' progress and takin' care of business on the field ๐Ÿˆ.

I'm not gonna lie though, I'm a bit worried about Darnell Wright ๐Ÿค”... he's been on fire lately, but what happens when he's not on the field? That's just how it goes in sports right? ๐Ÿ’ฏ

One thing for sure is that Ben Johnson knows his stuff and isn't afraid to take ownership of his team's performance ๐Ÿ‘Š. He's keepin' it real with himself and his players about makin' adjustments and takin' care of business on the field.

Let's be real, playoffs are a whole different ball game ๐Ÿ”ฅ... but I'm all in for these Bears right now ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ช!

๐Ÿˆ So I think the Bears are definitely in a tough spot, you know? They can't let up now that they've got 6 wins under their belt... ๐Ÿค” Still, I'm kinda rooting for them? I mean, who doesn't love an underdog story, right? ๐Ÿ˜Š The thing is, they gotta stay focused and keep working together. Coach Johnson's all about being a team effort, which is dope ๐Ÿ’ช. But if they wanna make it to the playoffs, they'll need to step up their game significantly... ๐Ÿ“ˆ Like, they can't just rely on Darnell Wright to bail them out every time ๐Ÿ˜‚. They've gotta work together, trust each other, and execute those plays flawlessly... ๐Ÿ‘

The Bears are like my fantasy football team - always on the cusp of making it, but never quite there ๐Ÿ˜‚. I mean, 6-3 is a solid record, but you can't just coast into the playoffs, you gotta make some moves ๐Ÿคธโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And Coach Johnson's message to the team is all well and good, but he needs to start calling his own plays instead of relying on his players to fix them ๐Ÿ“. I mean, come on, a punt on fourth-and-eight with 10 minutes left? That's like me giving up my last slice of pizza without even getting close to the table ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ˜‚.

๐Ÿค” The Bears' playoff hopes are indeed precarious, clinging onto seventh seed by a thread ๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ. While a 6-3 record is encouraging, the fact that they're still behind the Packers and Lions in the NFC North suggests there's still significant ground to cover ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Coach Ben Johnson's emphasis on growth and urgency is well-taken ๐Ÿ‘, but it remains to be seen if their team can sustain this momentum going forward ๐Ÿ”ฅ. The win over the Giants was a welcome one, with Darnell Wright's solid performance at right tackle helping to nullify Brian Burns' impact ๐Ÿฎ. However, the loss of Jaxson Dart and some questionable play-calling by Johnson will need to be addressed if the Bears are to secure an elusive playoff spot ๐Ÿ’ก

Ugh, 6-3 is like a participation trophy - it means you showed up and didn't totally embarrass yourself ๐Ÿ˜’. But seriously, the Bears are still clinging to seventh seed in the conference? That's like trying to win a marathon by running really fast for like 5 seconds ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ. They need to get their act together and start taking care of business if they want to make some noise in the playoffs. And coach Ben Johnson, nice try on owning up to play-calling mistakes, but calling it like you see it isn't going to magically fix everything ๐Ÿ’”. Still, at least Darnell Wright was solid against the Giants - I guess that's one thing they can count on ๐Ÿคž.
