NY, NJ challenge Trump’s threats to SNAP funding amid confusion over payments

I'm so worried about ppl struggling w/ food insecurity SNAP is literally lifeline 4 millions in NY & NJ. What's even more infuriating is some stores refuse to accept EBT cards Those cease-and-desist letters sent by the AG's office was a good step, but we need more concrete action from the fed gov't! Can't we just get back to stable funding?

omg did u ever notice how some ppl can eat a whole pizza by themselves in one sitting lol i mean i'm not saying thats me btw anyway back to this food thingy... i was thinking maybe we should have more salad bars at grocery stores cuz like 3 million ppl are struggling to afford groceries and it's crazy how some stores refuse to accept EBT cards

Ugh this is just great, another example of how the gov't can mess up even the simplest things like food assistance . I mean who tries to cut funds during a shutdown when we all know it's gonna get extended anyway? And now we got stores refusing to accept SNAP payments? Are you kiddin' me?! That's just cruel, people are already strugglin' to put food on the table and then they're told their "help" is not good enough. The fact that it took a court order for NY & NJ to get their funding back says a lot about how broken this system is . And what about all those families who got hit with reduced benefits? That's just heartless.

omg, can't believe what's going down with the food stamps ! So the feds are trying to slash benefits and states like NY and NJ are all "nope" . I mean, how hard is it to just pay people who need help? The fact that some stores are refusing to accept EBT cards is straight up ridiculous . And what's with the gov't shutdown drama? Can't they just get their act together? It's like they're trying to make things worse for the people who already can't afford food . The judge ruling in NY and MA makes sense, though - it's all about protecting people from being punished for something that's not even their fault . Anyway, this whole thing is just a mess, but at least some stores are getting called out on it .
