North Bay bakery owner ready to rebuild after redwood crushes part of property

Cazadero's Raymond's Bakery owner takes the bull by the horns, embracing stormy setback with positivity and community spirit.

When a 100-foot-tall redwood tree crashed into his dream property, destroying part of his business, Raymond's Bakery, Mark Weiss could have easily succumbed to despair. Instead, he picked himself up, dusted off his work gloves, and dove headfirst into the task at hand.

"I've got my winter project picked out," Weiss said with a grin as he surveyed the damage. The fallen tree had left his outdoor eating area in shambles, but Weiss saw an opportunity for renewal. "It's a beautiful day to be alive and to have to deal with all of these problems."

The bakery owner, who has been battling colon cancer for over two decades, took a deep breath, shouldered the weight of responsibility, and began making plans to rebuild. His focus was on getting his community involved in the process.

"We're not just fixing buildings," Weiss said, pointing out the countless ways the fallen tree had disrupted life at Raymond's Bakery. "We're rebuilding relationships, we're rebuilding trust."

In a testament to Weiss's generosity of spirit, his customers and neighbors rallied around him, offering support and resources to help with the reconstruction.

As Weiss prepared for the long road ahead, he couldn't help but reflect on the tree that had fallen on his property. He saw it as a reminder of life's fragility, but also as an opportunity for growth.

"I was thinking the exact same thing," Weiss said when asked about his son's comment earlier in the day. "Let's rebuild this with you."

With the help of friends, family, and fellow business owners, Weiss is poised to emerge from this setback even stronger than before. The fallen redwood may have dealt a blow to Raymond's Bakery, but it would not break the bakery owner's spirit.

As Weiss said with a smile, "Everyone has had the experience of being in a bad mood for no reason." And he sees value in being "in a good mood for no reason," even if it takes time.

This guy is a total legend πŸ’ͺ! I mean, you get hit by a 100-foot-tall redwood tree and your first reaction is to see an opportunity for renewal? That's just amazing 🀯. And he's not alone, the whole community is rallying around him. It's like they say, when life gives you lemons make lemonade, but this guy is making his own bakery empire from scratch out of a fallen tree branch 🌲🍰. I'm so proud to see this kind of resilience and positivity in our city ❀️.

OMG, like, you gotta see this! The dude's bakery gets totally trashed by a 100ft redwood tree and instead of freaking out, he just goes full positivity mode πŸŒ±πŸ‘! I mean, I've been saying it for years, the gov is hiding stuff from us, but this is like proof that even in the face of disaster, we can come together as a community and lift each other up πŸ’ͺ. And let's be real, Mark Weiss has had it tough with colon cancer and all πŸ€•, but he's still got the energy to rally everyone around him. It's like he knew this was gonna happen, you feel me? Conspiracy theories aside, I'm genuinely inspired by his spirit πŸ™!

πŸ˜‚ I just read about this and was like wow what a dude! Like, I wouldn't want to deal with that kind of stress but at the same time I can appreciate the positivity and all. It's actually kinda inspiring to see someone who's already been through so much come out on top again. 🀩 The thing is, it's not just about rebuilding the bakery, it's about bringing everyone together which is really cool. πŸ’• My only thought is that he must have some amazing friends and family to be able to rely on them like that 😊

I don't know man πŸ€”... I mean, I totally agree that Mark Weiss is super inspiring and all, but at the same time... how can we just ignore the fact that his whole business got destroyed by some random tree? Like, isn't that a bit too easy for him? πŸ˜’ And what's with all this "community spirit" nonsense? Is he trying to be some kind of superhero or something? πŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ I mean, I guess it's nice that people are rallying around him and offering support, but can't we just focus on getting the bakery up and running properly instead of making a big deal out of this whole tree thing? πŸ˜’ But wait... maybe he's right, and sometimes life does hit us with unexpected setbacks, and we have to roll with it. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Ugh, I don't know what I'm thinking anymore 🀯

🌳πŸ’ͺ I mean, can you blame this dude for not going all out angry? I'd be pretty salty too if a 100-foot tree came crashing down on my business. But, at the same time, rebuilding something from scratch is like, super hard work and requires a lot of patience. I think it's cool that he's framing this as an opportunity to rebuild relationships and trust with his community - it's actually kind of inspiring 😊. And hey, who wouldn't want to be surrounded by supportive customers and neighbors? Maybe the tree falling on his property was just what he needed to get a fresh perspective... or something πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

lol what a legend! mark weiss is like the ultimate optimist πŸ€ͺ his positivity is contagious and it's amazing to see the community rally around him πŸ’• i mean who needs a redwood tree when you have that kind of spirit? anyway, i'm sure raymond's bakery will come back even better than before 🍰πŸ’ͺ and we should all take a page out of mark's book and try to stay positive no matter what life throws at us 😊

Ugh, I love how this guy just rolled with the punches πŸ€ͺ! A 100ft-tall tree crashing into his bakery? That's like, the ultimate design disaster 😱! But instead of letting it get him down, he saw an opportunity to rebuild and involve the community. And honestly, who wouldn't want to help a guy who's been battling colon cancer for years πŸ€—? The way he's focusing on rebuilding relationships and trust is so inspiring - it's like he's taking the whole experience as a chance to revamp his brand and make it even better πŸ’‘! And can we talk about how cute is his "let's rebuild this with you" vibe? 😊
