Karl-Anthony Towns, Landry Shamet power Jalen Brunson-less Knicks past Heat with masterful gems

Knicks' Landry Shamet Steps Up as Knicks Survive Brunson-less Heat with Masterful Display

A chant of "Lan-dry Sha-met!" echoed through Madison Square Garden on Friday night as the New York Knicks celebrated a 140-132 win over the Miami Heat, despite being without key player Jalen Brunson due to a sprained ankle. And it was none other than Landry Shamet who stole the show with a career-high 36 points.

Shamet's performance was nothing short of spectacular, as he drove to the rim and hit a layup, flexed to the crowd in celebration, part of a personal 4-0 run. He then nailed a three-pointer with just 3:09 left in the game, giving the Knicks a 14-point lead and all but sealing the win.

As Shamet took free throws down the stretch, fans were on their feet, giving him an ovation that was a testament to his incredible display. "What makes this group special," Shamet said post-game, "is that we got a lot of guys who just care about winning... it's next man up. A lot of teams talk about that, but I think this group really embodies it."

Shamet's performance was perfectly complemented by Karl-Anthony Towns, who finished with 39 points, though most came in the first half. However, Shamet picked up where Towns left off, recording 30 of his 36 points in the second half.

Towns himself was a revelation, taking a "heat check" in the second quarter by launching a deep three-pointer from 31 feet and celebrating with the crowd. He then continued to play aggressively in the second half, but Shamet's emergence kept him involved throughout.

The Knicks' bench players also stepped up, with Jordan Clarkson pouring in a season-high 24 points off the bench and Josh Hart finishing with a triple-double of 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Without Brunson, Miles McBride and Josh Hart took over point guard duties, while Mitchell Robinson hauled in eight offensive rebounds to keep the Knicks in front. The team's defense was also solid, led by Mikal Bridges' seven steals and two blocks.

Coach Mike Brown praised his team's effort, saying "It's about the next man up... we have a standard that we've all bought into." With Brunson out, several players stepped up to fill the void, showing just how deep this Knicks roster is. As Shamet put it, "Whatever it takes, we got Jalen out, we lose OG early there and we got great contributions across the board from everyone."

The Knicks' win improves their record to 8-4 on the season and 1-1 in the NBA Cup, a testament to their resilience and teamwork.

So I was watching this game the other day πŸ€πŸ‘€ and I couldn't believe what I saw! Landry Shamet had an insane game and stole the show πŸ’₯. He scored like 36 points and it wasn't even easy, he played through some tough defense too. The crowd was going wild when he hit that three-pointer with only seconds left on the clock πŸŽ‰.

What's so cool about this team is how they all work together as a unit πŸ‘«. When one player is struggling or can't play, others step up to fill the gap and it looks like no difference at all. The coach said something about "next man up" which I think makes sense, because that's what teamwork is all about 🀝.

Shamet's performance was even more impressive when you consider he wasn't playing with their star point guard Jalen Brunson due to an injury πŸ€•. But the Knicks didn't seem to skip a beat and ended up winning the game 140-132! It just goes to show how talented this team is and how deep they've got πŸ”₯.

lol, I mean seriously, Landry Shamet is on fire πŸ”₯! Who would've thought he'd be the one stepping up for the Knicks without Brunson? The guy's got skills 🀯! And Karl-Anthony Towns was straight fire too πŸ’₯, but Shamet's 4-0 run after halftime was pure magic ✨. I'm loving this "next man up" vibe from the team, it's so refreshing to see players buying into a system and making it work πŸ™Œ. Coach Mike Brown is all over it too πŸ‘, praising his team's effort and showing that they've got depth. The win is huge for the Knicks' record, and I'm curious to see how they'll bounce back from this game πŸ€”.

omg i'm so hyped about this game lol landry shamet is literally the new face of the knicks he's so clutch 🀯 his performance was insane, especially when he took over in the 2nd half. i love how the bench players stepped up too, jordan clarkson and josh hart were on fire πŸš€ and mitchell robinson's 8 offensive rebounds were everything πŸ˜‚ also kudos to mikal bridges for those crazy steals 🀩 coach brown is right, it's all about being ready when your teammates need you. the knicks' defense was solid too, but let's be real, landry shamet stole the show πŸ’₯

Omg u guys I just watched this game live lol Landry Shamet went CRAZY!!! 🀯 He's not even the main guy but he stepped up BIG time w/o Brunson getting hurt πŸ’” And Karl-Anthony Towns was on fire too! πŸ”₯ But honestly what impressed me most is how deep this team really is. I mean they lost their star and someone else had to step up. It's like 1-2 punch or something πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ They got so many great players and everyone pitched in, it's amazing to see! πŸ’ͺ

πŸ™Œ Landry Shamet is for real! His performance was insane πŸ”₯ and it's amazing how much of an impact he can make when given the opportunity. I love how he stepped up and took charge after Jalen Brunson went down with his injury. 36 points is a career high, but let's be real, it could've easily been 40+ if he was more aggressive on the court πŸ€”. The bench players also played a huge role in this win, especially Jordan Clarkson who went off for 24 points! πŸ’₯ It's clear that this team has a deep roster and everyone is buying into Coach Brown's "next man up" philosophy πŸ‘

OMG i just saw this game lol landry shamet is on fire!! i was thinking they were gonna get blown out without brunson but kudos to shamet for stepping up like that 🀩 he's got skills!! Karl-town also put on a show in the 1st half, i loved that deep three-pointer 😱 and josh hart's triple double is everything πŸŽ‰ the heat check was so clutch too btw i'm loving this knicks team right now they're def giving me life πŸ’–

lolol what a game 🀩! landry shamet's career high 36 points is insane πŸ’₯. he was on fire πŸ”₯ with that 4-0 run in the 4th quarter. and karl anthony townes was huge too πŸ‘ with 39 points mostly in the first half πŸ•°οΈ. but what i love about this team is how they all stepped up without jalen brunson 😊. like, 24 points from jordan clarkson off the bench? 🀯 and a triple-double from josh hart? πŸ’ͺ. and let's not forget mikal bridges' 7 steals πŸ”₯! coach mike brown said it best "next man up" πŸ‘. this team is showing everyone they're super deep and resilient πŸ“ˆ, improving to 8-4 on the season πŸ“Š.

omg I'm so hyped for Landry Shamet!!! 🀯 he's literally stealing the show with that career-high 36 points! πŸ’₯ it's amazing how one player can single-handedly carry his team to victory when others might be struggling with injuries. πŸ™ The Knicks' bench is looking pretty strong too, I mean who doesn't love a good Jordan Clarkson performance? 😍 and Karl-Anthony Towns is on another level as always! πŸ‘€ what I think is really special about this team though is the "next man up" mentality - it's not just a catchphrase, it's actually happening in real life. πŸ’–

omg can't believe landry shamet's game πŸ’₯ he was straight fire πŸ”„ 36 points is crazy for him! Karl anthony townes was on point too πŸ‘ but that whole team effort was everything πŸ”’ we need more games like this nba cup or whatever it is πŸ˜‚

lol what's up with the Knicks having to rely on Landry Shamet to step up every single time they need a clutch performance? like i get it, the dude is on fire right now but cant they just build around Brunson or something instead of making him always the last resort? πŸ˜’ and btw 36 points in a game where they had to come from behind by 14 points kinda says somethin about their depth... πŸ€”

lol πŸ˜‚ just saw landry shamet go off for 36 points 🀯 no way jalen brunson was even supposed to play tonight and this guy still drops 30 of his 36 points in the second half πŸ™Œ he's literally the real MVP right now πŸ’β€β™‚οΈ also karl anthony townes is on another level 🎯 but shamet's performance is giving me all the feels 🀩

πŸ€” So I was watching this game and I gotta say Landry Shamet just seemed like a guy who got hot at the right time 🌑️. Like how did he go from having 24 points to suddenly hitting 4 three-pointers in a row? That's some crazy clutch shooting πŸ’₯. And yeah, Karl Towns was solid as usual but for him to take most of his shots in the first half and then get almost nothing afterwards is weird πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. How did that happen?

Also what's with all this "next man up" hype? It sounds like a cop-out πŸ™„. Is it really that hard to have a solid starting lineup without Brunson getting hurt? I mean the Knicks are still 8-4 on the season, which is pretty good. But does that really prove anything about their depth or their ability to win games when their top player is out?

I gotta say 🀯, Landry Shamet's performance was insane! 36 points is no joke, especially coming off a bench player like that πŸ”„. It's clear he stepped up big time for Jalen Brunson's injury πŸ’”. The team's chemistry is on point right now - they're all buying into that "next man up" thing and it's making a huge difference πŸ“ˆ. With players like Karl-Anthony Towns, Jordan Clarkson, and Josh Hart contributing in big ways, the Knicks are looking super strong this season πŸ’ͺ. Their defense was solid too, with Mikal Bridges' steals being a major factor πŸ”₯. And that final chant of "Lan-dry Sha-met!" was everything πŸ˜‚... what's not to love about this team?

OMG, Landry Shamet just became a total rockstar 🀩πŸ”₯! I mean, 36 points is insane for someone who wasn't even supposed to be playing that many minutes. And can we talk about Karl-Anthony Towns' performance? He was on fire πŸ”₯ in the first half and then passed the torch to Shamet for an epic second-half showdown πŸ’ͺ.

I love how this team has that "next man up" vibe going on 🀝, it's so inspiring! And props to Josh Hart for getting a triple-double πŸŽ‰πŸ‘. I'm not surprised they won with Brunson out, though - Shamet and the rest of the squad have been waiting in the wings to shine πŸ’«.

Shamet's humility is also super refreshing 😊, saying it's all about the team and buying into that standard. The Knicks are looking like a real contender this season 🀩!

the knicks are really showing off their depth rn 🀯, Landry Shamet's performance was insane!! πŸ’₯ he's definitely got some clutch gene going on. I'm loving how Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordan Clarkson stepped up too. 8-4 is a solid start to the season, gotta keep it up! πŸ”

man this shamet kid is straight fire πŸ˜‚ i mean 36 points is insane! but what's even more amazing is how the whole team came together without brunson 🀝 i was watching live from my couch and the energy in the garden was electric πŸ’₯ everyone was on the edge of their seats, cheering on shamet as he took over the game. it just goes to show that when everyone buys into a standard like coach brown said, amazing things can happen ⚑️ the way townes took off in the first half and then shamet picked him up in the second was pure magic ✨ i'm hyped for the knicks season now πŸ˜ƒ

man, i'm loving how landry shamet is getting all the love right now 🀩 he's been hiding under karl town's shadow for too long, but that performance was straight fire πŸ”₯ like, 36 points? no big deal, right? 😏 seriously though, this team's depth is insane. without jalen brunson, they still manage to pull off a win. it just goes to show that the "next man up" thing isn't just hype - it's a way of life 🀝 and i'm loving every minute of it πŸ’ͺ

omg I'm literally screaming about how amazing Landry Shamet is!!!! 🀩πŸ”₯ he's literally the definition of next man up! I love how Karl-Anthony Towns had a huge game too, but it was Shamet's 4-0 run that really sealed the win for them πŸ’ͺπŸ½πŸ”΄ his confidence on the court is so inspiring 🀩 and can we talk about Jordan Clarkson's 24 points off the bench?!?! πŸ”₯πŸ’₯ the Knicks' depth is literally a blessing from above πŸ™πŸ’«

OMG 🀯 just saw the most EPIC game of Landry Shamet! πŸ€πŸ”₯ he's like a superhero on the court 😎πŸ’ͺ his 36 points were INSANE πŸ”₯ and that "lan-dry Sha-met" chant at MSG was EVERYTHING πŸŽ‰πŸ‘ I love how everyone stepped up without Brunson πŸ‘« it's all about teamwork & next man up πŸ’•πŸ” coach Mike Brown said it best 😊
