Google brings free Gemini access to India's largest carrier

India's Largest Carrier to Offer Free Access to Google's Advanced AI Model Gemini for its Subscribers.

Google has partnered with Reliance Intelligence, an AI-focused subsidiary of Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries, to offer users on Jio's Unlimited 5G plan access to the advanced AI model Gemini Pro at no extra cost.

As part of this deal, qualifying users will gain access to Gemini 2.5 Pro and receive higher limits for Google's Nano Banana and Veo 3.1 AI image and video generators, in addition to expanded access to NotebookLM. Additionally, the plan includes 2TB of cloud storage across Google's apps.

Google has a significant stake in India's mobile network operator market, having purchased a 7.7 percent stake worth $4.5 million in 2020. The tech giant is now using this position to promote its AI ambitions on a global scale.

The offer will initially be exclusive to Jio customers aged between 18 and 25 but will eventually extend to all users via the MyJio app. This move marks Google's growing presence in India, where rival carriers like Bharti Airtel have also launched aggressive AI initiatives.

In July, Perplexity AI partnered with Bharti Airtel to offer a year-long subscription worth $200 to its 360 million customers. Meanwhile, OpenAI has been aggressively expanding its presence in the country, recently debuting its cheapest ChatGPT subscription, priced at 390 rupees ($4.60), for India's market.

The deal underscores Google's commitment to leveraging AI technology globally and positions it as a major player in the rapidly evolving Indian tech landscape.

I'm thinking, have you guys ever realized that when we're trying to level up our skills or stay competitive in life, we often need a little push from others to get us there? Like, Google is just investing in this deal because they want to see what can be done with AI in India πŸ€”. And the Indian carrier is getting these benefits for free! It's like someone is saying, "Hey, you've got potential! Let me give you the tools to unlock your full potential." πŸ’» The question is, are we open to receiving that kind of help and support? Are we willing to say yes to opportunities that can take us to the next level?

I think this is a game-changer for Jio users young enough! πŸ€” Free access to Gemini Pro will open doors to some really cool AI-generated content – I can already imagine some sick gaming vids & sick music vids πŸŽ΅πŸ‘€ It's interesting that Google is trying to lure in the younger crowd with this deal. Do you think other carriers will follow suit and offer similar perks? πŸ’Έ

I'm not buying this one πŸ€‘... how can Jio customers get free access to a super advanced AI model like Gemini Pro with no strings attached? I need to see some solid data on this partnership, like what exactly does Reliance Industries get out of it and how much is Google actually paying for this deal? $4.5 million seems like peanuts considering the stakes involved πŸ€‘

ugh another company making our lives easier just so they can sell more data πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ, like who thought 2TB of cloud storage was a good idea? we're basically paying for a bigger cloud to store all our stuff... and now everyone's gonna be using the same AI model Gemini Pro - sounds like a whole lotta duplication to me πŸ€‘. can't wait for the bill to come due πŸ“Š

πŸ€” I'm low-key excited about this partnership between Google and Reliance Intelligence, tbh! πŸ’Έ It's dope that Jio subscribers (18-25) get access to Gemini Pro for free - imagine being able to create sick AI-generated content with just a few clicks πŸŽ¨πŸ’». And the fact that they're offering 2TB of cloud storage across Google's apps? Game-changer for anyone who needs more space! πŸ’Έ My concern is, though, what does this mean for competition in India's mobile network operator market? I heard Bharti Airtel and OpenAI are also throwing their hats into the ring... 🀝

πŸ€” i think its pretty cool that google is giving away access to this fancy ai model but like, what's the real incentive here? are we supposed to believe that they're just doing us a solid because they can? πŸ€‘ plus, why should jio customers aged 18-25 get priority over everyone else? shouldn't it be available to all users who sign up for the unlimited 5g plan? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

omg I cant even believe how fast google is movin' in india 🀯 they already got a stake in the mobile network operator market and now theyre partnering with reliance industries to offer free access to gemini pro its like they say "if you want to make an omelette you gotta break some eggs" google is literally breaking into the indian market with this deal πŸ’Έ

idk why google is making such a big deal about this partnership... they're basically giving away a tool that's only gonna be used by young people who already have a strong online presence πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. it feels like more of a marketing stunt than an actual AI revolution. i mean, 2tb of cloud storage is nice i guess but come on, 18-25 year olds can barely keep track of their own data, let alone generate images and videos with some fancy AI model πŸ“ΈπŸ‘€

just wondering how far this goes, ai becoming more integrated into our lives like this... is it good or bad for us? πŸ€”πŸ“Š we're already drowning in info, can we really handle more of this advanced stuff? and what's next, free access to virtual reality tools too? πŸ’»

I think this is a game changer for Jio users, you guys will be getting some serious tech perks without paying extra πŸ’ΈπŸ”₯ I mean, access to Gemini Pro and more cloud storage? That's pretty sweet 🀩 Plus, Google's already got a big stake in India's mobile market, so it's only fitting they're using that leverage to promote their AI stuff πŸš€ It'll be interesting to see how other carriers respond to this move πŸ’ͺ

I'm all for this πŸ€”... I mean, who wouldn't want free access to some fancy AI model? It's like, the more AI, the merrier, right? πŸ˜‚ But wait, is this just Google trying to boost its presence in India and make a quick buck off our data? I don't know... Maybe it's not that bad? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ On one hand, it's awesome that users are getting some sweet perks like 2TB of cloud storage. But on the other hand, what's next? Are they going to start tracking our every move and sell our data to the highest bidder? πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ Ugh, I don't know... Can we just enjoy the freebies for now? 😊

I'm not sure about this, I mean... πŸ€” Is it really a good idea for Google to give away its super powerful AI model Gemini Pro for free to Jio subscribers? It's like they're trying to sabotage their own business model, you know? πŸ€‘ On the other hand, who wouldn't want access to that kind of tech power at no extra cost? 🀩 It could be a game-changer for Indian developers and creatives. But then again, what if it falls into the wrong hands? 🚨 The security concerns are real...

I mean I'm all for free stuff, but can we talk about how ridiculous this is? Like, Google's basically subsidizing its own AI model just so Reliance can offer more free stuff to their subscribers. It's like they're playing some kind of game to see who can offer the most perks without actually having to do any real work... πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

And don't even get me started on how exclusive this deal is. 18-25 year olds only? That's like, so outdated. I mean, what about all the other Jio customers out there who are just trying to stay connected and access some basic services? Do they have to shell out extra cash for Google's fancy AI model too? πŸ€‘

😊 I think this is a game changer for the average Joe! Free access to AI model Gemini Pro can't be beat. I mean, who wouldn't want to use advanced image and video generators without having to shell out extra cash? πŸ€‘ Plus, 2TB of cloud storage across Google's apps? That's just awesome! 🀩 The fact that Reliance Intelligence is doing this with Google shows they're serious about the Indian market. And let's be real, other carriers are trying to keep up. I mean, who can blame them for wanting a piece of the AI action? 😎 The more options we have, the better off we are. And hey, maybe this will even spark some innovation in the country! 🌟

omg can you even imagine having access to that advanced AI model Gemini Pro for free? 🀯 i'm literally so hyped about this collaboration between google and reliance industries, it's like they're taking ai to the next level πŸ’₯ i mean, who wouldn't want unlimited 5G plans with extra cloud storage and those dope image/video generators? πŸ“ΈπŸ’» this is definitely a game changer for jio customers, especially the young folks aged 18-25. can't wait to see what other AI innovations they come up with! πŸ’‘

πŸ€” this is gonna be huge for google's ai game in india... gotta say, who woulda thought jio'd be the one to partner up with them first? πŸ’‘ they're playing it smart by targeting that 18-25 age group tho, getting those young bloods hooked on gemini from day one πŸš€ my only concern is what other carriers are gonna do next... this ai space is heating up fast πŸ”₯

omg this is so cool!!! 🀩 i'm literally hyped that google is making ai more accessible to jio customers! 2tb of cloud storage for free?? πŸ’ΈπŸ”₯ what's not to love? i think it's awesome that google is using its presence in india to promote its ai ambitions. and let's be real, who wouldn't want access to advanced AI models like Gemini Pro? πŸ€– this deal is a total win-win for both jio customers and google! πŸ’―

🀯 Can you believe it? Free access to this advanced AI model Gemini Pro is like, totally game-changing! I'm hyped that Jio users can enjoy this without paying extra 😎. But, honestly, isn't this kinda weird that Google's gotta partner with Reliance Intelligence to make this happen? It feels like they're kinda giving away the AI tech just 'cause they wanna get in on the Indian market πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. And what about all these other carriers trying to one-up each other with their own AI deals? It's like, the more, the merrier... right? πŸ’Έ Anyway, I'm just excited that users are gonna get some sweet perks outta this deal 🎁

πŸ€” The more I think about it, the more I realize that this is actually kind of genius on Google's part. I mean, they're not just throwing money at their partners; they're also giving customers something tangible and valuable. Free access to Gemini Pro is a no-brainer for anyone serious about AI development. It's like they're saying, "Hey, we trust you, so we'll give you the tools." And let's be real, 2TB of cloud storage is a sweet perk that's gonna make users love Google even more. This deal is all about establishing Google as a leader in AI, and if it means giving Jio customers an edge, then so be it. I'm curious to see how this plays out, especially with the likes of ChatGPT trying to corner the Indian market. It's going to get interesting! πŸ’»
