Emerson Smart brings offline voice control to lamps and fans

Smart Home Without Wi-Fi: Emerson Smart Brings Offline Voice Control to Lamps and Fans

Imagine being able to control your home appliances with just your voice, without the need for a smartphone app or data center processing. That's exactly what Emerson Smart has achieved with its new line of offline, non-DIY voice-controlled devices.

The company showcased its smart lamps, fans, heaters, air fryers, and even air purifiers at CES 2026, all of which can be controlled using just your voice. No Wi-Fi connection is required, making them a great option for those who value their privacy or don't want to deal with the hassle of setting up an app.

The devices use built-in microphones to recognize voice commands, and they respond accordingly without sending any data over the internet. This means you can control your appliances simply by saying "Hey Emerson, lights on" or "Hey fan, turn on low."

One of the unique features of Emerson Smart's devices is their programmability. For example, pressing and holding a button on a smart plug changes the wake word to "plug two," while doing it again swaps it to "plug three." This allows you to customize the way your appliances respond to voice commands.

While Emerson Smart's devices are available for purchase now, new models will go into production later this year. The company has also released several devices for sale, including smart air purifiers and fan combos that look sleek and modern.

However, there is a catch: if you outfit your entire home with Emerson Smart gear, it might take some time to name and position everything so it works in a coherent way. Additionally, the lack of an app means that programmability is limited.

Despite these limitations, Emerson Smart's devices offer a fresh alternative to traditional smart home solutions. With their offline voice control capabilities and clean, modern designs, they're definitely worth considering for those who want to take control of their home without sacrificing their privacy or relying on complicated apps.

Ugh I dont think this is gonna be a game changer 🙄 people are just gonna end up having these devices scattered all over the place and itd be like navigating a maze trying to figure out which one says what. And yeah programmability is gonna be super limited without that app thingy.

🤔 I think it's fascinating that Emerson Smart has created a solution for people who value their online anonymity. The idea of being able to control smart devices with just your voice, sans Wi-Fi, is not only convenient but also liberating. It's interesting to see how the company has implemented built-in microphones and voice recognition technology to make it work without relying on external data centers.

However, I do think that programmability could be improved upon. The idea of having to name each device individually can become cumbersome, especially if you're outfitting an entire home with Emerson Smart gear. It's like trying to create a new language for your household 🤓. On the other hand, it's great that the devices look sleek and modern, making them a great option for those who want to upgrade their smart home without sacrificing style.

Overall, I think Emerson Smart is onto something here. Their offline voice control solution offers a fresh alternative to traditional smart home solutions, and with some tweaks to programmability, they could take it to the next level 🚀.

🤩 I'm so stoked to see companies like Emerson Smart pushing the boundaries of smart home tech! No Wi-Fi required? That's a total game-changer for anyone who values their online security or just wants to simplify their life 🙌. And I love the programmability feature - it's genius that you can customize your voice commands to fit your needs 💡. Sure, it might take some time to get everything set up and working together seamlessly, but trust me, it's gonna be worth it! 😊 Those smart air purifiers and fan combos do look pretty sleek too 🛋️. Can't wait to see what other innovations Emerson Smart has in store for us! 💥

I'm intrigued by this whole offline voice control thing 🤔. But how do we know these devices aren't just using some fancy workaround to connect to Wi-Fi via Bluetooth or something? And what's the catch with programmability, really? You're saying it takes time to name and position everything for it to work coherently? That sounds like a lot of hassle 💻. Also, how do we know these devices aren't just using some proprietary system that can be hacked or exploited in some way? Need more info on this one 📊

I'm stoked about this offline smart home tech 🤩! Being able to control my appliances with just my voice is so convenient and liberating. I can imagine being able to chill at home, turn off the lights, and start a fan without having to fiddle with a smartphone app or deal with any buffering issues 😎.

I also love how these devices are all about simplicity and ease of use - no need for setup or maintenance 🙌. And yeah, I can see the potential benefits for those who value their privacy (like me!) or just don't want to deal with the hassle of smart home tech 🤪.

My only concern is that you might get a bit overwhelmed if you start buying up all these devices and trying to figure out how they work together 🤯. But hey, it's like I always say: "You can't have too much convenience" 😄

🤔 I think it's kinda cool that Emerson Smart has created a smart home system that doesn't rely on Wi-Fi. It's like, we all value our online security and stuff, so having devices that don't send data over the internet is pretty appealing.

Plus, who needs an app to control their lights and fans? The programmability feature is actually pretty clever, I guess it might take some time to get used to, but it's doable. It's also great that they're making these devices available now, so people can start enjoying the convenience of voice control without all the fuss.

The only thing that's a bit of a bummer is that there isn't an app to customize everything, but I suppose that's just part of the trade-off for not having Wi-Fi. Overall, it's a solid option for those who want to take control of their home life without being tied to their smartphones 🏠💡

i think its cool that emerson smart made these offline devices, but i do wish they had a mobile app so we could customize the voice commands more easily... 🤔📱 also, i'm not sure if they should have put all these new devices out at once, maybe just 1-2 models to start and then add more later? thats just my opinion tho, some ppl might be like "hey, its better to have options" 🤷‍♂️

I'm loving this idea of having a smart home that doesn't require Wi-Fi 😊. Like, can you imagine being able to chill in your living room with no phone nearby and still be able to turn on the lights with just your voice? It's like something out of a sci-fi movie! 🚀

And I'm also super curious about the programmability feature - it sounds like it could get pretty cool if you're into that sorta thing. Like, being able to change the wake word for different devices and stuff... it's like having your own personal butler (but without the attitude) 💡.

My only concern is that it might take some time to set everything up properly - I mean, how many devices can you realistically have in a home before it starts to feel too much? And yeah, not having an app means limited programmability, which could be a bummer for some people. But overall, I think this is a pretty cool idea and I'd definitely want to check out these devices when they hit the market 💻
